All right, that was fascinating! Please do follow-up videos to show the results from week to week. I wonder how many other vegetables you can grow with this. It would be great to have fresh greens in northern Missouri in the winter months with this thing. Thanks for sharing!
Will do! I will make sure to update as I have progress or not LOL I think we were suppose to wait till they had more roots it suggests but we were excited, LOL
Thank you for your question. It did very well for me I don’t eat big salads but puts lots of lettuce leaves on my wraps so I pick and let it grow back I have a few shots of it in my monthly recap videos right now we have Bok choy 🥬 in it. But I have been happy with the performance for how I use it
@@benybenshlomo7455 oh gosh wish I could but we gave the system to a friend and I don’t have it anymore did you try googling it sometimes you can find it on line
I have this system and started Bibb Lettuce and found that the lower rows are not spaced far enough. My plants grow into the next row up and it starts touching the lights. :( It was a good first setup for me though, got me thinking about my next project. I think I will do vertical growing instead.
Yes, you nailed it there. It is actually a great unit to get you started with. That’s great that your plants are so big you ran out of room not a bad problem to have. 😄
That is a great gift from your husband! Best of luck with it. I often buy the hydroponic lettuce at the grocery store, just seems cleaner. Debbie - BluWave Odyssey
I feel its working well, I would however start the plants in the unit once the roots have gotten longer. It was only 30$ so I would say it was worth it.
Wait. He followed the instructions? That's got to be cheating! :-) It actually looked really easy and straight forward to set up. Yes, that is a great deal for under $50! I'll be watching here and on your Instagram for progress pictures! ~ Tim, Gracie, and Krystal
Hi there. Found your channel through a live stream we were on last weekend. Your channel looks great. We will be following along. I love this hydroponic idea. I wonder if we could adapt that for use while living full time on the road in an RV....hmmmm. Thanks for sharing. D&J
Awesome! Thank you! I have you on my watch list and will be over later, I am sure that they sell one pot designs so I think it is definitely possible. Thanks for stopping by and connecting
We are also planning to use hydroponics in our RV. My first "garden" will have 108 plant sites and it only takes up about 18x36" of floor space. I may put it on wheels so I can unlatch it from it's on-the-road location and wheel it outside (depending on local pests). If it works out well, I'll likely add at least one other unit. Would love to keep in touch with other RVers.
Looking forward to seeing how you get on with this. Ours was doing great until the raccoons kept pulling the pump out and then deciding to pull all our lettuce plugs out. Little poops! Hoping you get great results! PS - I'm tempted to turn one of our rooms into a grow room and get loads of LED grow lights for the hydroponic system. It might be a fun winter activity for me, seeing as even in SoCal, the light is still insufficient for my personal needs. Sunlamps and lettuce forests in the bedroom lol!
Well I hope I don't have to deal with the Raccoons the unit is on my back screened in porch. I don't know what to say about the PS we tried doing some a few years ago and didn't have much luck I think its a lot of work. I will tell you, you still get bugs so you have to decide if thats an option for you, hubby doesn't want any dirt in the house we already have to deal with spiders and ants all the time.
The music was distracting and too far away. For a learner like myself - I would’ve liked you to go slower, and give step by step. I just received my kit and it doesn’t look like yours so I feel like I needed to see more details. Thank you for the video
Hello, great video! I bought a different model but I wanted to ask if you had anny leak problems with your hydroponic kit so far as I've seen that you didn't use any water insulating tape at the joints. I'm mounting mine now and adding the tape just to be safe. I wsa just curious if yours leaked so far. Thanks for the video!
Hey that’s great I look forward to hearing how it works for you no leaking was not an issue for me, getting the nutrients right I think is the tricky part.
Wait, does that mean when they close down living with the land in Epcot, we can come to your house and watch the Hydoponic stuff at work? HAHAHAHA! LIKE #9.
We did something like this years ago but it was just one row I had lettuce for awile I forget why we stopped, life im sure LOL hope your holiday was nice
I'm in SoFl, tried this once using a different set up and had no luck w/letttuce. Is there a link you can provide for your pvc set ups from Ebay? Thank you.
Its just a Tupperware we got from Walmart probably ( something we had lying around) then we painted it terra-cotta and then painted it white to keep the water from growing algae. Thanks for watching!!!
i'm nit sure if you just search hydroponic grow kit this one was I think around $30 and the new table top one is $80, we like the table top one better but this one is great and we still use it. Thanks for stopping by I hope that helps if I find the actually link Ill add it later.
Omg! and we thought that you actually made it your self, cause you guys are so handy. This will be super interesting to see how it does!
we did have one a few years ago that Rick built and it worked great, this was so affordable why not.
Wow that is pretty wild. Look forward to seeing how it goes. Great share and interesting concept.
You and me both! Thanks hope you had a nice Thanksgiving
How interesting! that looks like you need a lot of patience haa. Thanks for sharing stay safe.
Very! Thanks guys for stopping by I always appreciate.
So cool! Like Living with the Land!!
boy that would be nice. Well see how far we go LOL

Hi! How much lettuce has this produced? Can you make a follow up video showing what the lettuce looks like on there?

Hey, can you take a photo of the printed guide and post it?
I have a similar system, water does not reach the entire system
@@benybenshlomo7455 oh gosh wish I could but we gave the system to a friend and I don’t have it anymore did you try googling it sometimes you can find it on line
This is so cool! I love the science behind it. My wife really wants one, might be a good Christmas present. Hope you guys had a Happy thanksgiving 🦃
Thanks! You too! I got it on eBay for under 40$
LOL ok I need to go watch 2nd to last video I guess LOL Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving
Thank you for this instructional video. It really helped me out a lot. Did you pvc Cement the pipes?
Im glad no I didn’t 👍

yes we used to do hydroponic lettuce at home a few years ago and had some success so I hope we have the same luck, love it that you stopped by. Niki
Did you need to use any plumbers tape on the joins?
Also nice guitars.
No this one had a nice seal and thank you 😊
very cool!
Thank Ypu the idea is to create a food forest where my garden is now and move more towards hydro if possible
thank you! how has it worked so far? is it worth the investment? would you recommend it?

Well isn't that an interesting contraption. I'm anxious to see how this works out for you!
Me too I miss having lots of lettuce for salads
I hope they all become lettuce!! This is neat.
Me too
Very cool! Hard to believe you can grow in foam cubes. Who is that handsome assembly man? 😊
its working well

ok dont let him hear you say that it took me almost 30 to get him to follow directions LOL it was $37 thanks for watching my insta too
Was there any issues by by not using pvc cement? I have a similar set up and I want to make sure before I start using it
No there were no issues with the one we had
A healthy, veggie eating guitar picking grandpa! Boom!

How much volts of water pump battery using!?
No battery the pump plugs in like the ones you use in fish tanks if that’s what your asking?

I wish it looked like the land around here we have the bones for it LOL put in a boat ride instead of a road around and some more hydros
Could you share the water pump specifications?
It was just one of those small ones you would find in a small fish tank thanks for watching 😎
Hope it works for you , never grown anything this way, interested to see the out come.

@@telsa9 yes
So how'd it go?
The unit it’s self had no issues and I grew some stuff but could not seem to find that productive spot.
We actually did better with the kratcky method but that got to be labor intensive with the small container we were using but it worked
Do you have the link for the ebay shop?

What are the dimensions of the product?
right now we don't have it set up took down for the summer but I feel 4 by 4 feet is a solid estimate
