Dateline featured an episode called Echoes in the Canyon and featured several guests on the show. They went through the story for Suzanne Morphew and there were a couple of interesting points made by the guests. Barry Morphew's sister Marcy was on, Suzanne's sister Melinda, her brother Andy and Suzanne and Barry's friend, Troy. 2 lawyers were also on and talked about points in the case.

I wondered if possibly he had the idea she was seeing someone and she knew he found out. Imo he did know. She was afraid to be alone with him. Didn't the affidavit say he got home and then his phone pinged wildly around the house? She was sunbathing with he got home. I think he supposedly called her on the way home ???

Yes!! Wtf was that?! I noticed it immediately. Couldn’t it be contaminated?!
They were getting the clothes for the dogs to sniff her scent not for evidence, evidence was collected later
At that time it was not evidence they were trying to obtain but clothing for the scent dogs to use to fin Suzanne. At that time it was a search and recover situation although they already seemed to be suspicious of Barry (for good reason).
He could have grabbed a used Walmart sack from under the sink
When ever a wife goes missing, the purse is still at the home, husband puts out there what he thinks happened to his wife and then the husband will not talk to wife's family, he has his family and friends convinced he is targeted by police and public for no reason/victim, does not do any searches for wife, moves/sells home and moves on. I think besides his fake cry and strange behavior, staging the bike will be his biggest downfall in trial. The bike being there, places Suzanne there with her bike. When I saw the body cam of the police officer who first went to her bike, there was no disturbance at all where the bike landed and below the bike. Where the bike seat was, directly below and next to the seat was a small tree growing. It was not broken, bent, nicked, nothing! All other vegetation was also not disturbed at all. There was no evidence Suzanne went down the side of the road and there is no sign an animal attacked a person or was even there. The fact that Barry did not even say her name but asked about the bike and said bobcat is very disturbing to me. The bike was in good shape and not even dirty so no sign the bike was hit by a car. If it was then Suzanne would have went over with the bike. I also do not care what any one says about Barry that want to make him look like a great guy because look at Chris Watts! He was the perfect father and husband till he was not and he killed his wife and children. He also had plans to move on right away. He was on the phone with the realtor same day he committed the murders and has the girlfriend at the time of the murders. I truly believe a Jury will see what Barry has done.

Jurors can be stupid. Look at the Casey Anthony case. If none of her texts are used in the case he's going to try to sway everyone in his favor all the while smearing Suzanne's character. He's a piece of steaming crap and I'm not afraid to say it.
Good observation! I had not looked that closely at the bike stage because I already knew it was a fake, but this is a good point that jurors need to be told to look at. I have said that if you believe the bike crash is fake then Barry killed Suzanne. You cant believe one with out the other. No body else would need to fake Suzanne being away form the home when she was killed or taken.
I think at the time Barry was scrambling to create an alibi and he needed to have people think Suzanne was not killed at the house where Barry just left that morning so he hastily created the bike ride and mountain lion story. Also the trip to Broomfield so he could be known as being far away when the bike was found.
The only thing that Saturday afternoon/night and next day that Barry did well was hide Suzanne. Everything else is was bumbled or ill thought out, but that's what happens when you come home and go nuts and kill your wife.
the jury may see but if the investigations can't find any evidence that proves it he will get off. There are many people who did the crime but because of the investigation being rushed or flawed the criminal got off on a not guilty. Notice that is not a guilty or innocent verdict, it is guilty or not guilty basically saying the case waa proven beyond a reasonable doubt or the case was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt because the jury thinks it could possibly be a different scenario. That added to the way too obvious bias being shown toward Barry and his family leads me to believe this will be another OJ verdict. Has it been proven yet that Barry has a friendship with the judge in this case or is that proven to be untrue? IF that has not been proven to be untrue the judge honestly needs to recuse himself to avoid the appearance of bias. If it is untrue but cannot be proven it still will ruin that judge's reputation for the appearance of bias. Bringing charges with the evidence they have shown in the preliminary motions was not necessary. Waiting until the had rock solid evidence that couldn't be denied away with a ridiculous story that unfortunately could just possibly be true was not necessary unless they had positive proof of him fleeing at that time.
I pray for justice for Suzanne
Having been married to a narcissist for 9 yrs. who was a lot like Barry in his abuse...verbally, mentally (lots of gaslighting)...physically striking things around you, but not actually hitting you. Playing all those mind games... *I can tell you straight up that other people won't see it, and the abused won't usually tell* ...different reasons for different people, but mostly embarrassment and not wanting people to look at you or your husband in that manner! *So when someone says "I didn't see him like that"...of course not, he doesn't act like that in front of you...that behavior was saved solely for the spouse.* Always making the abused seem like they are crazy and pitting those closest to them against you like he was doing with his daughters. It makes my stomach flip with disgust!

Yup! I wonder when his love bombing phase ended, usually narcissists are very mean and dismissive to sick people so it surprised me he took care of her while she had cancer.
Also I feel like if they didn’t move to a secluded place like that maybe it would have been a better outcome for her. Like you say it’s always happening when no one’s around.

@@catrineso ya, it’s all a show.. my narc was extremely mean to me after I had a surgery. It’s like they get extra mean when your sick or whatever, so Barry must have really tricked everyone involved.

Its so eerie to see police and the husband enter the dark empty house. It just takesme back to Chris Watts. From the beginning you just felt something wasnt right there too

@@ItsACrime If you believe that the bike crash/ride was staged then you have to believe Barry killed Suzanne. You cant believe one without the other. No other person would need to make it seem as though Suzanne was killed/abducted or eaten by a mountain lion outside the home. Only Barry needed that narrative to be believed. He needed for Suzanne to be harmed away from the home he was at. Its the same as the Scott Peterson story of Laci being on a dog walk when she was harmed. He even put a leash on his dog and let it go to sell that story. Didn't work for him and we hope this case has the same ending.
Troy states that Barry couldn’t sleep in the bed after Suzanne went missing. Fairly certain Barry hadn’t slept in the same bed with Suzanne for quite some time. Good try Troy.
Although Suzanne stated that she continued to have sex with Barry throughout her affair as that would keep him calm and happy.

I believe Barry knew about Suzanne's affair. Some people can't stand to lose even if they themselves cheat. I feel Suzanne fell into an affair as Barry was treating her badly. She obviously at the very least sensed Barry was cheating. Women know. We just do. I think Suzanne reached to her past. Her high school years. A carefree time, as a way to cope. She stumbled on her ex boyfriend and they indulged in a fantasy that became a reality. It was wrong, but no one deserved to die. So tragic. Suzanne survived cancer but she couldn't survive her marriage.

Barry had been communicating during hs drive from Broomfield on the Volunteer Firemen's radio to George Davis who is also a VFF. He was the man who met Barry upon arrival. They both touched the bike and had to be told by the PO to leave it alone. I think the blonde haired lady was Macy's boyfriend's mother. She said her daughter was at "his" home. Miles, his father and sister were at Suzanne's home.
I think they guy was his good Ole buddy George Davis and the woman was mother to one of daughters friend that went in trip with the daughter's Bury brought everyone he could in this web of lies the neighbors whom by the way have a restraining order against him/ his friends/his employees/ his daughter's and the list goes on and on

I wish they'd drop the bike ride bs. That whole thing about Shoshanna calling in a suspicious vehicle in the area the same day Suzanne went "missing" is extremely sketchy. That seems set up completely.

Did you hear the Officer ask Barry for clothing that she wore "today"? Barry said he didn't see her that morning so how did he know where her clothes that she wore that day were? He couldn't because she was already dead. Besides, the clothing was for the K9s to sniff. It was not used as evidence!
He's not only a dolt but a killer, too. He admitted to using a tranquilizer gun while in CO bc he knew they found evidence of it but he didn't know what exactly. So, he admitted to shooting chipmunks on his property that Saturday afternoon when he said he ate veggie soup with Suzanne on the patio. And, that he threw away tranq material in one of the 5 trash runs he made in Broomfield. Then, he admitted to shooting a deer in his breezeway with a tranq so he could cut their antlers off. He's a very dangerous liar.
It wasn't for evidence at that point it was for the dogs as she was "missing". Actual evidence was removed later on in an official search.

It's supposed to be a paper sack. That's how clothing or potential evidence is collected in an ER situation where blood or body fluids are on clothing or personal items. But for LE to NOT have an evidence collection 'kit',, let's say, in the patrol car .. thats sus ....and unprepared a-f.
(Ref- Emergency Room) Otherwise, they'll put into plastic to hold for the patient until.theyre ready to leave.
I’m kind of upset about the recurring “she loved her girls” from Barry’s sister. For multiple reasons. So many, in fact, that I can’t even begin to list them. I mean obviously she loved her kids. Why are her kids hanging off their accused father like trophies themselves? Anyone see the video of Barry placing his hand on one of the daughters’ lower back, almost her back end? This is all just uncomfortable and so so strange.

Jury’s are very tricky. You never know. It all depends on how well the defense can present this case and the evidence in a cohesive story. They need Linda.
I think they need to focus on Barrys Statement of No One Knows The Truth! That tells me he knew about her affair.

I would really like to understand how attending a prayer vigil for someone you love that's missing is somehow a publicity stunt. Please explain that Barry.... To me that's being with other loved ones who care bringing strength and support for a horrible situation. It's like when my cousin died, it helped being with family and to have that strength together. There's no publicity in that ...
I thought she said he'd said it was her brothers searching that was the publicity stunt which is just as sick of a thing to say. But let's face it Barry is just a sick kind of guy. I never trust any man who needs to get his perceived manliness from decimating little furry creatures. Or using the dead bodies of animals as interior decor. Putrid excuse for a human being. The action that bothers me the most is Barry’s statement that Whatever happened to Suzanne was God’s judgment on her affair. It reeks of his bombastic, self righteous, egotistical lack of empathy which then alludes to no remorse and very possible guilt.

I think we can all surmise that it was not Suzanne messaging some men on the computer as reported when she was already in love with Jeff. So, That leaves Barry trying to make her look bad and sending digs out to Jeff because he most likely already knew where Suzanne’s heart was then. That’s not to say that paired with the fact that she wanted to leave him and that the money situation would not be advantageous to him in the event of a divorce I believe that it was plenty of motive For a controlling man whose ego would be highly bruised by suddenly being knocked off his MANLY pedestal in more than one way. One more point is that What are the chances that the girls were away, he lied about so many things and his timeline is all wrong on that very day and days afterwards? It’s just all too convenient imo

Two people reported seeing a strange/suspicious vehicle near the bike site on Mothers Day, Shoshona Darke and Francis Bach who just happened to be Shoshona's ex fiancé before Barry came on the scene. I know Francis brought her to court for breaking and entering and leaving with items which didn't belong to her. Barry started using his burner phone in November 2019 so that is when Barry was seeing Shoshona as a couple. I will see if I can get the date of the court case if I don't have it Matt Blac will for sure.

I don't know if Barry knew about the affair, but he acted liked be believed she was having an affair. There were a number of things that Barry did, like sneaking up on the house and telling Suzanne could not go to a friends son's wedding, that tells me Barry feared she was having an affair.
He moved her to Colorado for a reason this was premeditated, he knew how and where he would dispose her remains.

Not that I put any faith in psychics but I have watched videos from when this happened of a psychic saying another woman and another man were involved and Barry wasn't directly involved. Maybe the current girlfriend has a brother like Lori Vallow's who would kill people if she asked or she and Barry knew someone who would get rid of Suzanne for them, letting Barry keep his hands clean on the surface. Maybe Barry tranquilized her and called someone else to actually kill her and dispose of her so that her body would be in a place with no connection to him

All of Barry's action have never been constant with a person who is incent. I feel the prosecution should have as part of their presentation a lit of all the things that Barry did that a normal person who had their wife missing would never do.
What you mentioned is one of those. You would think he would want to go home to see if she is there or for signs of her being there since he had not been home sinc3 early that morning and according to him she was there at that time.
I always go back to when he was let into the home for the first time shown in the bodycam video, he never even moved his head side to side as in looking around to see if there was signs of a disturbance or of Suzanne even a sign of her being there since he left that morning. He never even looked around the living room he was walking right past. We know its was because he knew where Suzanne was.
I also go back to that when asked to show LE what Suzanne was wearing that day for the digs to smell, he does not show them what he said she was wearing which was her pajamas, but he goes right t a bike outfit. If Suzanne was supposedly on a bike ride and taken she would be wearing her bike outfit., It would not be on the closet floor.
How about her journal? She just took it with her on a bike ride?? I don’t think so. It’s funny how that is missing which probably tells everything that was really going on and what Barry was really like and who she believed he may have been seeing on the side.
Interesting that Marci never mentioned that her brother-in-law had filed for guardianship within the first month of Suzanne missing. He went on to liquidate every single asset. Why didn't the Court protect at least half of the amount from the liquidation by ordering Berry to open a trust fund for his wife Suzanne? Instead he's using it for his defense. I am the guardian of my son and he had received a settlement, by law we were required to put that money into a trust fund on his behalf.

He deserves an Oscar for his acting….he also was allowed to touch the bike…. If he wasn’t involved; who was? He went to work, but did not have to work and hung out in his hotel room all day. After my mother's passing, my father slept in his recliner in his office for I believe 5 yrs. He just couldn't bring himself to sleep in their room without her. Just a thought....

I saw the same with my father - I was still living at home and he insisted THAT VERY NIGHT, before we even made funeral arrangements, that we actually had to switch bedrooms! Do you think if they can’t locate her in the triangle ( which in my eyes may be exactly where she is) he could have taken her and dropped her off somewhere along the way or in the city where’s he rented the hotel? That’s been bugging me for a while. I think he may have traveled with her on his way to the job or whatever and the odor had gotten on him and it was so bad that he used the chlorine to try and mask the smell on him or maybe even his vehicle. If she’s not in the triangle that’s the only other way I can see as why there’s no trace. He would have had enough time to transport her before she was reported missing. Love your channel. I believe he knew, he was biding his time. IMO he didn't want anyone else to have her. Hes a clever guy. IMO he either waited and took the opportunity when the girls were away, or Suzanne waited for the girls to be away and plucked up the courage to say she was leaving. For Suzanne to have an affair for 2 years shows she was deeply unhappy with him and probably would not want to leave because of her daughters or maybe he had threatened her in the the past. I excuse her affair even though you said you didn't in this vid, because who are we to judge! We don't walk in other peoples shoes. I believe that he did know that she had moved on and set her sights on someone else ... Barry Morphew gives me the impression that he is a narcissistic center of the universe type of guy and when the person who fed his ego the most and nursed his injured ego back to health decided she was done , he saw it as the ultimate betrayal ...
As far as Suzanne's vehicle in the garage it was not part of the crime scene. It had nothing to do with it except that Suzanne had left her entire purse and content in her vehicle. There was also her water bag and her sunglasses, for which she always used when she was bike riding. Let's not mention the fact that she always loaded her bike and drove to the location that she would normally go to ride. That did not happen! I guess it's time that the prosecution investigate the places that Suzanne had had her bike worked on and her vehicle to find the employees that had worked on her car or bike. This could have been from somebody where she took her car to be cleaned. The fact that they did not find those fingerprints anywhere else around the house or on the completely cleaned bike speaks volumes. I'm pretty sure it also did not matter that the 1 who found Suzanne's bike and brought it up had touched it and even without gloves. Their fingerprints can be traced with a clear explanation of why their prints are on the bike. And Barry was so concerned why was he also touching the bike? He had his buddy with him so maybe he just wanted a witness that he had touched the bike just in case they find his fingerprints anywhere on the bike
The DNA on the glove box has been excluded from testimony, as it has been determined to be unrelated by LE. In other words, a relative of the offender is who touched it.
For someone who “knows nothing” he sure does have a lot of answers, the bike, the “mountain lion”, and then being taken. Usually when someone goes missing innocent family members are demanding the Police investigate and provide answers! They are not the ones providing all the answers and possible scenarios to Police

The SHREDS found: When Andy was doing the search, a lot of civilians were boots on the ground & some were youtubers. AK from tube crime found a shirt that was shredded by 3 stabs & possibly blood stuffed in a rock near the river. He called the authorities. It was said to be Susan's. I remember watching that video.
I watched the bodycam where the officer found the bike. There was some kind of problem with the front wheel-it evidently didnt want to roll? Based on where it was found, I dont think the fall messed up the front wheel? When I was a kid I used to jump dirt banks with a bicycle and didnt ever mess the front wheel up on one? I think the wheel was messed up on it when it went off the bank? That was on the same bodycam that those clips you showed were on. The officer said the wheel wasnt bent. That usually means the bearing is seizing up in the wheel? Takes a while running it without grease to make a bearing seize up? I think the bike was definitely a stage job. Dont know by who? I did find a couple of things peculiar while watching the whole series of bodycam footage but it may be explainable so I dont know? The two things I heard that was found was the helmet was found not far from where the bike was found according to one of Tyson's videos (he walked the distance between where the bike was found and where the helmet was found) and the shirt/blouse was found down by the water by the guy who was hosting AWP when they were there, which was on their video.
1) Barry sleeping on the couch outside the bedroom he shared with Suzanne: the bed a couple shares is the ultimate intimate place, and not just because of love making, but because of many things, including the smell of your partner. When you really love someone & they go missing, or if they simply have to go away for a while, most partners find comfort in the bed & feeling the other’s presence through their smell on their pillow, etc. I think Barry slept on that couch to distance himself from the reality of what he’s done: murdering Suzanne. He’s as guilty as sin. 2) I’m incensed that the court won’t include Barry’s verbal abuse to Suzanne into evidence, since verbal abuse is equally as heinous as physical... I find this move painfully backward & unjust. // LOVE LOVE LOVE your coverage... Thank you!!
I think that Barry lied about not sleeping in his MBR bed just like he lied about everything else. I actually think that one of the couple was not sleeping in the master bedroom bed at that time anyway. That's why the sheets and bed was stripped. They were changing the sheets for Mallory's friend because one of them was using that room because of the marital issues. I dont know for a fact, but it makes sense to me.
I suspected that would be the case as well....
