Being fat can be a better earthquake detection than the phone alerts in Japan. Kinda ashamed to admit one time I felt the earthquake rippling throughout my body ever so slightly and I asked my skinnier Japanese friends if they felt it, and they said no. And then a minute later their phones went off lol kind of fucked up for the whole country to put me on blast like that

I live in Florida and I relate so hard to Joey seeing his reaction to the Earthquakes. I've lived in Florida for 22 of my 30 years. You can always spot a newbie during Hurricane season. Natives and long-time residents are apathetic. We don't start seriously talking until a category 4. I always tell newcomers I work with 'Don't worry about hurricanes until the natives worry.' There have been quite a few times where a newcomer is like 'a cat 3 is gonna hit tomorrow, what are we all gonna do?' I'm just like, dead faced bored voiced 'come to work'.

I was on a train between Kyoto and Osaka at 8 pm on June 18 2018, when a earthquake struck the area, it wasn't a small one... I had the NHK world app in my smartphone saying that was a 6.1 Richter scale... And it shake like crazy for at least 15 to 20 seconds... Thank god that the early warning system allows the trains to do an automatic emergency stop just seconds before the shaking... Unfortunately, this earthquake killed a few people, including a 9 year old girl who was arriving to her school and a wall fall on her... That was very sad news...
