Another thing that I don't remember if u mentioned but the fact that u stay so consistent with the content for us. We can depend on new videos just like a Sunday night football game. I think that the consistency is rare and important.
Thanks Chris...I'm always motivated after your videos! I especially liked "don't try to make your painting interesting, just be interested in your painting"
I love your content its concise enough and fast paced for a person like me with a short attention span. I have improved my paintings soo much. Keep doing the good work.
Thanks coach! I needed this. I'm 17 I love to paint and I think I could work as a artist in the future. I paint and draw every day even when I don't feel like it and I'm very serious about it
One of the things that really helped me was reading books on art. It never occurred to me to do that before you recommended certain books, but it's been so massively helpful with the fundamentals that you're always talking about (value, composition, colors, etc...). I didn't even know how much I DIDN'T know. Another great video, thanks! 👍
You definitely hit a hole in the CZcams tutorials. Great content. I am a musician, and never thought I’d pick up a paintbrush until seeing your videos!
Chris. You really packed this with a lot of valuable info, and I think that’s one of the great strengths of your content. You’re actually putting out useful info that helps people. Keep it up man. You’re performing a genuine service and helping a lot of people. Great job bro 👍
You give good advice. I like the idea of doing things for free and seeing that experience as the payment. That is an excellent attitude (in many realms of life besides painting). Also I have been painting (sometimes just drawing) every day since I started watching your videos. I am improving without caring about perfection. Just establishing a habit for now. Thanks PAINT COACH!
Watching your videos has motivated me so much to start learning and keep going no matter what... I can't even express how much I appreciate the content.
Love listening to you Chris, you really get me back on track! This year I have challenged myself to paint my loved ones birthday presents... the idea being to motivate me to paint, give me practice and a deadline pushes me to get going! It's worked so far!! I find painting for loved ones a 'safe space' whilst I'm getting my confidence and very motivating. X
Thanks for all the great tips. I painted a lot of my families pets as gifts and for practice. Then I posted on my socials and got a few Pet Portrait commissions that way.
Oh man I know. He makes me laugh and be inspired. "Oh, your gna become a CZcamsr?! Psh" lol that's exactly what I bet he heard. I can tell he's had a TON of lessons learned the hard way, and I admire him for sharing them. And the video where he recommended 4 or 5 other artists, that was a solid move, in every way. 👏 cycle of good things comes from things like that
Your content is so helpful. But I really appreciate your “coaching” mentality. You help me take responsibility for my own practice and reps. No excuses. You speak a language a find motivating as well as clear and concise. Thank you for all that you give.
Chris, the best thing that helped me get better faster was saying “yes” when a neighbor asked if I would teach him to paint. That led to others who wanted help on their art journey. My once spacious art studio now has six “painting stations” that are filled every Wednesday night with people at various levels of skill and areas of interest who are growing in their art skills, bonding as an art community and fulfilling their dream. My income from this is the satisfaction and joy I receive by helping them grow. I have had to learn so much more just so I could help them progress. As a result, my art has improved as well. Your channel is one that I refer the oil painting students to regularly. Thanks!
You know what? your just fundamentally a really good soul. Good on you and Thankyou so much. I love your course your a great teacher and you share your wealth of knowledge with such conviction. Thankyou for inspiring me and keep up the good work. Your also a great artistic. 👍✍️🎨🖼👏
Thank you Chris. I am exactly at that stage where you were when you started! I'm finding it hard to learn all this business stuff whist trying to constantly improve, have a job and family. So it is so helpful to know that other people had that and succeeded. Thank you for sharing your success story.
I'm an absolute beginner. Been painting arcylic for few months now. It's been pretty much horrible lol. Now thanks to CZcamsrs like yourself, I've been learning about values, colors mixing, good quality materials and other basics and fundamentals. There's a long road ahead but I can see little improvements. I'm learning a lot from your video's. Thanks a lot and bless you coach 🙏👍
haha, i'm the kind of person that gets up, eats a small breakfast and then gets tired from eating, but I'm gonna try that advice of making time for art the moment that the day starts.
so agree with treating it like a full time job. I had turned down a promotion at my then current job, just so I wouldn't have added responsibility there that might cut into my time at the art table. Same with always learning. I've worked in art commercially for over ten years and still took your patron classes and still learned stuff from them. You've definitely helped me clear things up that I struggled with and definitely helped me work faster.
@@fanfictchad4537 Things are going great! I will soon be opening an art/hobby store and also teaching art classes, At that store. Everything from drawing realism to comic style (as that's what I did before my painting career) I'm also going to teach painting in oils and watercolours. So things are still strong, just want to change my focus. I"m still going to produce art, just not going to spend as much time at the easel. Which honestly because my process is faster now, I'll be creating about the same amount of art as I was 5-6 years ago.
Thank you for your 10 tips. I have intuitively been following most of them but you mentioned some things I had not thought about. These videos are very helpful and encouraging.
My god, this video made me realise how far I have come with my art journey.. It is highly motivating to be able to relate to another person's experiences.. I am nowhere near my goals but I feel confident and believe I am on the right path.. Much love
Hey Chris, I really love your videos! I was wondering if you could make a video talking about “Mother Color” and how to and why to use it. Thank you for considering.
Such a good informative video. Would you recommend a business course geared towards art business or just take some general business classes ? I think this is the one thing that’s standing in my way of going full time. Feeling overwhelmed with that part of it.
I say this only because I like you and think it may be helpful. The light in the background in this video is distracting. The focus should be you. Great info and thank you. Have a great day! 🙂
Plzzz plzzz tell some techniques for the abstract painting with oil paints....plzzz.... I didn't get any satisfying vedio related to it all across the CZcams (they all come up with acrylics) ... Pllzzz I request you to make a vedio on abstract painting with oil
Hi sir,If a kid(11 year old) wants to use oil paints can they? And if they can, what type?Water mixable oils, or somthing else? And can they use mediums, and if they can what mediums ?Thank you.😀
It’s important to have multiple streams of income. Many painters generate revenue from paintings sales, teaching, mentoring, consulting, critiques, affiliate marketing, and more. There are careers in art but it takes years of hard work.
Ha yes a "CZcamsr", there is a stigma about that title I think. Bullying homeless ppl or putting glitter slime up your bottom 'like and subscribe', vs people with actual skill and talent worth liking and subscribing of whom which we don't need to be begged to do so. Thanks for another informative video xxx
As soon as I learn how to conquer my FEAR OF THE BLANK CANVAS, then I will attempt to retire from my teaching career and become a full time painter! (Give me about nine or ten months…)
Although I love the insights Chris presents on this channel.... I really hate repetitive background music.. Your words really do carry the video... no additional help needed...

You received the CZcams platinum award, thats fantastic, well done, im glad to be part of your community, cheers from Prague..
I love your content its concise enough and fast paced for a person like me with a short attention span. I have improved my paintings soo much. Keep doing the good work.
Happy to help!
Thanks coach! I needed this. I'm 17 I love to paint and I think I could work as a artist in the future. I paint and draw every day even when I don't feel like it and I'm very serious about it
Seeing fretwork as "Getting paid by experience." That is a very that is a very valuable attitude.
yes. I volunteer a lot and it gives me joy. Reward does not always have to be monetary. :)

It's impressive that you've done such a good job with all the tech stuff... filming, Patreon, all that.

I love your genuine desire for everyone to get better.
Carolyn
“Learning mindset”, so very important! I enjoy your videos & always learn something!
Nicholas Cage needs one more face. Or a roll in Hollow Man. 😁 I think this every time I watch your videos.
Thank you for all your videos & knowledge!
I agree!

There is a lot of good advice here for any side job that you want to turn into a full time job.
Thanks for all the great tips. I painted a lot of my families pets as gifts and for practice. Then I posted on my socials and got a few Pet Portrait commissions that way.
A lot of truth in this...
Oh man I know. He makes me laugh and be inspired. "Oh, your gna become a CZcamsr?! Psh" lol that's exactly what I bet he heard. One of the best tutors I’ve come across. Thanks for your tutorials on Patreon too!

I just quit my job to paint full time-this video was really great. It makes me feel good to know I’m doing things right so far. Thanks!
Thank you for being a cool supportive source for creative people looking on CZcams! Impressed by your Nick collage also

Such a good informative video. Would you recommend a business course geared towards art business or just take some general business classes ? I think this is the one thing that’s standing in my way of going full time. Feeling overwhelmed with that part of it.
To be quite honest I feel the same way so I would like to know as well.
I say this only because I like you and think it may be helpful. The light in the background in this video is distracting. The focus should be you. Great info and thank you. Have a great day! 🙂

Could you please make a video about the commissions are the most popular with customers? Thansk
Watching your chanal is so good 😀 and you should put a video of silver playbutton
Sir I am not sure to be an artist and take art as career, as a teen will you tell me about income sources and is there any career in art?
It’s important to have multiple streams of income. Many painters generate revenue from paintings sales, teaching, mentoring, consulting, critiques, affiliate marketing, and more. There are careers in art but it takes years of hard work.
Felicidades 🎊🎉🎈🍾
...bit off topic, but curious. You do that piano score? Interested musician...
Would you do 1-2 sessions to teach me with some oil painting hurdles I’m having?
How are you handling your healthcare? That is a big obstacle to quitting my day job.
Ha yes a "CZcamsr", there is a stigma about that title I think. Bullying homeless ppl or putting glitter slime up your bottom 'like and subscribe', vs people with actual skill and talent worth liking and subscribing of whom which we don't need to be begged to do so.
