      All-Star selections are purly fandom based, they have no real significance. It's funny to me that every time a player's being mentioned, they state his All-Star appearances as if it's an achievement.
      And still with his 2 time All-Star and 2 time all-NBA third teams, he has 4 championship rings.

      Uncle Jrue Harden played along with westbrook, Durant(mvp). and Ibaka .. so what? both tony and manu decided to play on a "team´s" team,, thats the key of there success. Harden decided to go to a shitty team to be the star and have a juicy salar- and also, Harden won the gold with the US team, Manu with Argentina!! (not a basketball country)
      Dont get me wrong, i think he is an amazing attack player, but Manu is an underrated hall of fame baller

      juan cruz mansilla Yeah Harden won with USA, but making that prestigious team at the age of 22 is an accomplishment itself. KD never won MVP when Harden was with OKC. Harden only played 3 seasons with OKC, and only that last year was he a dominant player.
      I love the Spurs, and Manu as well. He's one of the best playmaker in the league, much better than TP, but you can't ignore the fact that Harden is a star player, probably the best SG right now and can easily become a better player than Manu ever was. Of course is impossible to compare. Ginobili is a champion, a REAL basketball player. A Fighter. And he is on his last year of career. HArden is a pure talent, with some AMAZING offensive skills. But for a team i will always choose Ginobili. First of all Manu can be a LEADER of a team, he can score, but also pass and he can also DEFENSE! Is a all around player. Harden for now is just an amazing scorer, but with also some black outs, and with no defense. HArden must start to think not only to himself but also to his team , if Harden will work on those things he can be whetever he want, cause the talent is big.

    Harden can't compete with manus passing, playmaking ability, and defense. The only thing harden is better at is shooting/scoring. But manu is a more valuable player and is a winner.

    • @skinnybones23
      @skinnybones23 Před 9 lety +1

      defense? sure. passing? debatable. But playmaking ability??? come on now be honest. In his entire career, Ginobli has never averaged more than 19 points and 5 assists a game. Numbers don't lie. You can't say that Ginobli is more valuable because the Spurs can definitely win games without him due to their well placed rotation and coaching. If you look at Houston (9-3) their offense is surely running through Harden and/or Howard. There is NO playmaker on that team besides Harden. Now i know you might be looking at this from a biased position and jumping on the "Let's hate on James Harden for inaccurate reasons" bandwagon but you CANNOT compare these two players because surely Harden at his prime now is better than Ginobli was.

    • @nanox4
      @nanox4 Před 9 lety +10

      Ismail Hakim Harden is very good at passing, he's creative and sees the floor really well. But Manu is a total genius. You can tell just by watching his between the legs, sick bullet passes, behind the back, behind the head etc. There are many videos here to prove that. Also Pop, when TP is on the bench, gives Manu the ball to create from p&r, wich is a beauty to watch.
      Regarding that "prime" comparison..... I wouldn't hesitate to choose Manu over James. Let's see.... Harden is a better shooter, super clutch and confident. We also know about his penetration, footwork and sick ability to finish at the rim.
      Gino probably not that good of a shooter, but very good. Tremendous finishing abilities in his prime (2005 playoffs imo), sick layups and even sometimes posterizing dunks. I'd say that, on offense, both are-were very explosive. Harden will always get more points and big scoring nights because he's the go to guy on his team and sometimes playing like 40 m. Instead of that, Manu shared his points with Tim and Tony for so long. He never averaged more than 19 and 5 because of the Spurs rotation system. He's played more than 30 minutes (season) just twice in his carrer. Even Pop said he "wrecked his career stats" benching him (with Tony and Tim) in the 4th to secure his health . We also know he became a sixth man pretty young, Pop's been using him to lead the bench for a long time.
      In what concerns defense, there's no comparison. Manu is a tremendous competitor, who'd put his face in front of Shaq if neccesary to draw a charge or put his hand for a block. There are uncountable videos of him giving clutch blocks to Kobe, Melo, Lebron, Wade, KD, Garnett, etc. He also really competes on one on one defense cause he's very quick. We all know Harden is a BAD defender and gets loose on the floor.
      No disrespect for Harden, I don't know what he may become. He's very good and still has a bright future, but I would pick Manu because he plays way harder than James even at 36/37, has guts and is a clutch performer and champion (don't forget he led his national team many times to many titles)

    • @skinnybones23
      @skinnybones23 Před 9 lety +1

      You lay out a very good argument. I guess at the end of the day we let our own biases choose whose better. Yes I am a Rockets fan so that's where my "Harden is better than Ginobli" argument comes from. Don't get me wrong I love Ginobli. He's great in everything he does and he has been for a long time but for the time being, I haven't seen anyone join a team and take it from 3 straight years with no playoff appearances to getting to the 8th spot first year, 4th spot 2nd year and hopefully 1st seed this year haha.

      that's exactly what i think. harden's arrogance is so amplified that he actually thought westbrook and kd were holding him back, who are both far and away much better than harden could ever dream of being. they carried the load of okc on their shoulders while harden's one role was to just flop to the line sometimes and get some points up as a bench player. the way espn overhypes him sickens me

    • @diggyzeus186
      @diggyzeus186 Před 10 lety

      how is harden arrogant??how was he being held back. at the backend of games the coach gave him the ball and he would run the point while westbrook moved to off guard...have you not seen this????he wanted to stay in okc but they wouldn't offer an extra year and 15 mill so he was traded, perkins should've been traded but that's another story .harden westbrook and durant were all good friend's, westbrook and durant were clearly devastated that he was traded and made it public during interviews they should've given him an extension which btw are on youtube. i remember harden closing out san antonio in game five in 2012 in san antonio where in six straight plays he scored everytime they also won that series and went to the nba finals. go do your homework. i also remember him closing out dallas in the first round the games are on youtube. ginobli at hardens age 24 years averaged 8points a game you can google this fact if you like. ginobli is lucky he is playing with a coach who has recored 50 plus wins in 16 consecutive seasons. tim duncan(the greatest power forward to play the game) is there and so is parker. at the end of the day their roles for their teams are different. they play in different systems, when you look at that stats they don't lie. statistically harden has better numbers and is the best shooting guard in the nba as of right now...remembering the fact james harden is about 4 years from hitting his prime. ginobli at his best averaged 20 points in his best season. so you can't compare the both of them because of minutes played etc just stating one is better than other is not enough, also saying manu would be just as good on another team is silly even though he would be, you would never know because it will never happen....manu is at the backend of a stellar career, which is nearly over...

    This comparison is an insult at Manu. Harden is nowhere even slightly close to the level of Ginobili. Ginobili is a proven winner at every stage of basketball and an all time greatest. Harden is just a reasonable good player. He has not won anything and will not win any. The fact that harden became a mvp candidate just showed how bad the NBA game is being played now.

    For those misunderstanding why Magic Johnson called Manu Ginobilli a European player: Born & raised in Argentina of Argentinian & Italian parents, Ginobilli's early career saw him playing for the hometown team, however because football (soccer) & not basketball is the major sport played in Argentina or maybe because he knew there was money to be made (I don't know this for a fact, I'm speculating) the talented Ginobilli took his game to the Euroleague playing professionally for Italy & establishing himself & perfecting his signature Euro-step. Playing ball in Argentina to playing ball in Italy is like playing ball in high school & then going off to college, no one remembers your playing days in high school unless they went to the same high school, as such the sport of basketball is more recognizable in Italy than Argentina. Ginobilli established himself in the Euroleague & that's why Johnson called him a European player. He also plays for the Argentinian National Team when the Spurs organization allows him too.

    If Manu had the chance to lead a team, like how he lead the Argentine team for a decade winning olympic and world championships, he would have averaged closed to what Kobe does while being double efficient. His only weakness was his endurance which was due to his all-out playstyle which was needed by the Spurs. He would have learnt to pace himself better like Kobe had he been the main superstar of his team.

Harden's young though, but the Rockets aren't going far for a while.
