I just love this episode. What hits hard for me was that komamuras vengeance had consequences just like tosen. Komamura was pitting his life on the line for yamamoto because of the gratitude he had for him. Tosen was doing the same for the woman he loved and the injustice the soul society had done to her. They were both fighting for the same thing and their conclusions were similar, for none of them achieved their goal.
In other words, fighting for revenge will never lead to anything but more loss and despair. W writing
what was even sadder was the lieutenant picking him up in his doggy form and saying he was right, marching with him on his back to their inevitable deaths
The difference is that Tosen threw away everything and everyone for it.
Sajin threw away everything, but no one else. He lost his chance to save Shinji, Hisagi lamented him going do, and Iba was there to pick him up right away.
The two were similar, but ironically Sajin never lost his heart, while Tosen was blind to what he threw away.
That said, Tosen's enemy needed killing, just as Sajin's enemy needed killing. Denying them that because revenge should be discouraged feels unsatisfying.
Though, the novels do have a really nice ending to this revenge motif that really brings it together.

Love Komamura and it’s heartbreaking to see the ending for him. Love the penenance he receives for throwing his life away for vengeance just like Tousen.
His was totally different he did to save the soul society and he didn't abandon his allies

Komamura’s story really blew me away. His lieutenant reassuring him he did nothing wrong after turning into a wolf made me tear up a bit.
Bambietta wants Doggy way too much. I can imagine a big portion of the fandom wanting to give that to her.
And considering Bambi only kills hot guys, most fans who want give her some doggy might actually survive the attempt!

Komamura was always one of the captains that the fandom kinda didnt think was anything special and whose bankai had a massive downside that caused ppl to think he was relatively weak. Im glad he had his moment to shine. Also seemed fitting about the metaphor with his heart. Essentially you get power at the cost of being "heartless" and losing your humanity.

he may not become the soul king, but i think there's some pretty heavy implications towards something bigger than his manga training. between what we know from cfyow about ichibe intending to groom ichigo into a new soul king and the almighty eyes that we see ichigo with, it looks like we're gonna be getting something new here. my guess is that his bankai will be confirmed to have some form of fate manipulation, maybe the ability to reject fate?

17:25 I will briefly explain what is really happening so that it is not misunderstood, the training that ichibei is giving ichigo serves so that all the powers of his different races can be balanced, since the balance is always inclined towards the shinigami side or towards the hollow side, but what does the king have to do with all this? They basically give ichigo that training because he is a unique being in all dimensions, he is a being that possesses all races, shinigami, hollow, quincy, human and derivatives, like the king.
Basically the training also serves to see if ichigo can be a good candidate to replace the king in case something goes wrong

Sajin’s bankai is really underrated. The new form it takes allows him to be immortal until his enemy is dead
It’s the clan jutsu that allows him to be immortal. The bankai is just a reflection of that

His regular Bankai is one of the worst in the series. Dangai Joue isn't necessarily one of the best, but it's really good.

whenever i felt the deepest respect for any character in anime.
Komamura for sure reminded me of what it feels like.
It was so inspiring and touching.
The message behind his sacrafice, was also so deep and meaningfull.
The moment i entered this battle i already left my life behind.
All to fufill my very purpose, of avenging the one guy who gave me a chance,
when everyone else dispised me.
And he was going to head straight for Ywach, but as he said himself.
Yamamotto sacraficed himself in order to protect everyone.
So i have to do the same.
He chose to protect his Commarade, over giving in to the rage and vengance,
to fight Ywach.
so even if his whole Motivation was fueled by vengance.
At the glimpse of the decission, he choosed to Protect over avenge.
And heres also the parallel to Yamamotto itself.
his whole purpose to kill Ywach was to avenge all soul reaper who got killed by quincies.
But in the end Yamamotto lost, because he didnt want to drive innocents into the battle.
as Ywach also said, the Yamamotto from 1000 years ago would have probally defeated me.
But you grew weak since you cared to much about others.
back in the days you wouldnt have cared less about who gets harmed and who not.
in order to win youre battles.
thats what became youre demise.
And same went for Sajin as i explained.
i love how bleach makes connections, in such deep meaningfull and poetic ways.

Komamura was such a dope captain with a great arc and design. I love how unique he was and how his Allies valued that rather than make fun of him. Aside for kenpachi but no one’s safe from him.
[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- As you noted, Quincy are depicted as angelic, they dress in all white and have wings when they use Volstanding, where as Shinigami are death gods who dress in all black, this speaks to the very gray nature of Bleach as a story and actually is a nice hint to larger lore implications.
- Komamura and the Beast Clan are based on the Buddhist concept of "The Beast Realm" beings that are personified by their subservience to their instinctual and selfish desires.
The appearance of the Beast Clan here in Bleach is due to a curse which is a punishment for the sins they've committed in life.
- The Technique Komamura learned practically makes him immortal, but clearly, there was a time limit which is why he was rushing to reach Yhwach.
- Here Komamura has given his heart, his very life for his cause, and in this case it's for revenge. This is a through-line setup with his conflict with Tosen, who he condemned for seeking revenge, and just like Tosen Komamura is left here an empty hollow man, which is a pretty potent message.
- Komamura giving his heart is also a nod to his line when he was speaking to Tosen before he died.
He said: "If I lost you, I would have a hole in my heart"
- Ichigo has always been a protector, but it was in a common selfish sense, the want to protect your loved ones. But now he's tasked with a different path of protection, the weight of protecting the world, or rather the worlds, this is why the weight is so heavy...he quite literally has the weight of worlds on his shoulders.
[Sidenote: The Humanification technique has always been interesting to me, metaphorically it seems that to be Human means having desire yet the aspect that makes you a beast is giving into those desires despite knowing what harm may come from it.]

In the anime the seem to be more clues of ichigo receiving abilities from soul plus we cant ignore ichibei poem
In episode 7, the episode title was at the end of the episode when Yhwach said "My son, born in the dark", and then it warped into "Born In The Dark" episode card, so they put it whenever it has the most impact for the episode.
