Kenpachi was able to easily destroy a meteor that would have wiped out the Seireitei with just a Shikai. Not to mention he did it with his eyepatch on and used only one arm! I can’t imagine what a monster this guy would be if he had a Bankai.

In manga it was revealed that Gremmy was locked up in a room because he's too dangerous. He's a kid he doesn't know how to fight as you can see Kenpachi teaching him some stuff he's changing. Gremmy's ability is broken.

The command "Drink" Nozarashi is perfect for Kenpachi's zanpaktou as it's implying to drink blood of your enemy
Not only that, but it also embodies his thirst for battle and the fact that so few can give him a real battle. Saying Drink upon activating Shikai means he can finally quench his thirst because he's fighting a worthy opponent

Nozarashi itself means 'weather-beaten'. So, it makes sense why he needs to drink below roughness hardwork he did.
another way I see it is "drink" as in everything it comes in contact with is like water & the Zanpakuto is literally drinking the "object" like water which is why it's able to cut through anything
I really wished they showed everybody’s reactions to the meteor or maybe dragged the episode into the next episode cause anime watchers are going to think that Gremmy wasn’t “all that” even though he had an OP ability but people should know that it’s literally like that in the manga, anime watchers were probably thinking this fight was gonna last longer than that.
Gremmy was locked up and had no experience bcz of all the quinces being scared of him. He is the opposite of Kenpachi who has been fighting all his life, he is a good match for Kenpachi, and he had acknowledged him as strong

Fans claim that Gremmy is stupid which he's not. Gremmy doesn't know how to fight. He's putting limitations on his power which is already limitless. Like creating another of himself to create meteor is something he can easily do it simply. Those who say that he's stupid just doesn't understand his character.
No they that say his stupid does understand it gremmy was in a basement for the rest of his life he didn't have much experience compared with the other fighters like kenpachi and that was the sole reason for his defeat if he had fought more he would have had knowledge and essentially be smarter
That doesn't change the fact that Gremmy is written intentionally to be a moron just so Kenpachi can beat him, which is terrible writing when you consider how outrageously overpowered he is for a character who literally only exists so he can mindgame himself to death and make Kenpachi look strong by comparison.
Which doesn't even work towards that purpose, because Kenpachi only wins due to luck in the purest sense of the word. Kenpachi had literally no way of winning this fight, all he does is tank some incredibly uncreative attacks that were needlessly indirect and then Gremmy mindgames himself to death.
The fact that Gremmy's specifically written to be this stupid because it's the only way his character doesn't bust the entire setting is extremely jarring, it's like if in Naruto halfway through the series Kaguya had just dropped by to fight Choji, only to then end up killing herself because she accidentally slits her own throat.

@@STGAoe If Gremmy's goal is defeating Kenpachi to prove he can do so then he could and should just have immediately imagined that Kenpachi is dead right away. He has literally no reason not to.
Everything he does to try and kill Kenpachi is incredibly indirect and weaksauce for no explained reason, exclusively because if he really *did* try to kill Kenpachi seriously, Kenpachi would be stone dead in an instant.
Kenpachi didn't win because Gremmy was overconfident, he won because Gremmy was stupid and killed himself for literally no reason. Even after he starts dying, the only thing keeping Gremmy from completely and instantly recovering like nothing happened is Gremmy not imagining it for no explicit reason.
The actual reason he just lets himself die is because is far too powerful to stay around in the setting, so he *had* to die for the sake of the entire rest of the narrative to function.
Which, when anything in a narrative happens so obviously for only that reason, is bad writing.

This ability is really a double edge sword... Whatever you'll imagine will literally happen, there's no choice on what or what's not to happen, whatever you imagine just flows..
Now think of it if you're a person who has this ability and suddenly you are having an intrusive thoughts.... This ability will doomed or kill you based on that intrusive thoughts 😂

Exactly what I was thinking. Most people in the world wouldn't be able to handle this type of ability. Most people are too afraid to be alone with their thoughts.
In a way, it kinda like Hogyoku especially when it was merged with Aizen. It manifested his desires.

3 THINGS ANIME SKIPPED
1.)Kenpachi has unruly reiatsu now, he can hide it completely
2.)Gremmy was sooooo powerful other sternritters did not even want to be in the soul society when that menace was fighting
3.) When Gremmy releases the meteor , we see other sternritters shitting their pants, hell even Jugram is sweating that this monster was unleashed

It's irrelevant to the fight and we may see a lot more reactions next episode. Especially as a lot of those plotlines (like Gremmy's imprisonment) are more relevant to the novel.

[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Yachiru's ability is quite strong, It strikes before she attacks, when she attacks and after she attacks. Also as Isane noted no Shinigami has a Shikai that doesn't change form once released.
- In regards to Gremmy's power of imagination many fans fail to understand that it has many drawbacks. The 1st being that what one can imagine is based on experience and Gremmy has lived a very confined life because it's alluded to in the manga that he's kept locked away somewhere. The 2nd is that as we saw a person's imagination can do it's own thing, so if you have unvoluntarry negative thoughts they will affect you like how gremmy began to lose. 3rd is that it's limited to the speed of his thoughts. Lastly it's not limitless as some claim, if he can just make anything a reality Yhwach would have told him to imagine that every soul reaper was dead, but clearly that's not the case.
- In regards to Gremmy killing the Captains, we saw 1st hand the the affects of his imagination can be reverted if he's not focused so it's possible that those captains deaths are not permanent.
- The anime cuts the reaction of both Shinigami and Quincy, which showed just how unhinged Gremmy is.
- Many fans claim that Gremmy is idiotic, however he's more so sheltered, this is why he began to feel ecstatic by fighting for the 1st time. The idea is that despite being able to imagine nearly anything he's likely experienced very little in life from actions to even feelings.
- The scene with Kenpachi calling out his swords name mixed with the Flashback of Yachiru not having a name is a huge in your face hint here which some people somehow miss.

The captains dead
-The issue with the drawbacks of Gremmy's power isn't that they don't make sense or that we don't know about them, it's that they only serve as contrived reasons to justify why and how Kenpachi wasn't *instantly* bodied by a *vastly* much more powerful enemy he literally couldn't do anything to unless said enemy literally just kills himself for him.
All-the-while playing the fight off as a testament to Kenpachi's strength even though all he really did was slam his face at some hard surfaces until the problem solved itself.
-Gremmy's own statements about how the meteor he made won't go away even if he died because he's already made it real strongly contradicts the previous implication made with Yachiru that his imaginations go away if he stops focusing on them, since him dying would mean he'd stop focusing on the meteor but it would apparently still have stuck around.
Either his imaginations go away if he stops focusing on them and he was wrong about the meteor, or they don't go away if he stops focusing on them and Yachiru's bones (and Kensei/Rose surviving) shouldn't happen, either way there's a plothole *somewhere.*
-Gremmy is still an idiot, his background reasons for being so not-withstanding. He literally mindgames himself to death despite explicitly having the power to undo his own situation at a whim. Gremmy is not a flawed character with a lot of power, he is a character with a lot of power who has flaws forced onto him because if he doesn't have specifically all these flaws, he'd utterly destroy the entire universe. He's not flawed because it's in his character, he's flawed because *the integrity of the entire universe requires him to be this stupid to exist.*

Your claim that he could just fix himself afterwards doesn't work imo. "My imagination reached its limit" I think the confusion is that people take his statements of his power too literal. I belive he states things so that he himself believes it which empowers his ability, but it should be very obvious that the ability has limits, we just arent given a 1 by 1 listing of them.

They picked a really good voice actor for him too, thats exactly how I imagined he would sound reading the manga.

Bit of backstory. Gremmy was kept locked up as even Ywach feared his power. While he doesn't keep the title for long, currently Gremmy is the strongest quincy. There will be stronger ones soon. (If you know, you know)

FYI in the light novel, they said Gremmy didn't create a "portal" to space, but he created the outer space itself
And if you check the raw manga version, the outer space that Gremmy created has so many stars and galaxies
Yeah, he created a section of outer space. But it's only about the size of a large house. The galaxies and stars are just lights in that space because that's what Gremmy "imagined" space would look like. He didn't literally create galaxies and stars. I swear to god some of you nu-fans are so autistically literal in how you take things, that its a wonder how you even function.

Also in terms of scaling, Bleach characters scale a lot higher than naruto or borutoverse, there is 1 character in boruto that should come close but he isnt nowhere near manga yet so no feats to put him there, otherwise any top 20 character in bleach can solo both naruto and boruto verse

Now you see why Kenpachi is THE BEAST of this series. Also that space void scene was really stellar. I liked it.
In the manga Askin eating sandwich with a snack basket while he watching the fight with a telescope, they removed also when he got a conversation with pepe about Gremmy, also they removed Bazz B Panicking when he saw the Meteor falling down and said Gremmy is an Idiot . Jugo scene was cut, also the people in seiretei tensified , it was more bring more hype and tension if did not cut that dialogues and scene
I imagine it's because those scenes make no sense when you consider what the upper tier Sternritter could actually *do* versus what Gremmy was doing.
I think the whole point of Kenpachi's fight with Unohana is to remove any sort of limitations so in this instance he's fighting at 100% and the eyepatch is just an accessory at this point
I think the eyepatch is still necessary so he can control his reitsu and not affecting ordinary shinigami. In the future, he will fight someone stronger (if you've read the rest manga) without eyepatch.
Gremmy is a Child, and this is one of his main weaknesses, he has limits to his imagination.
He feels fear, he has no absolute control.
And he probably doesn't have Vollständig Mode because he just didn't imagine (and I don't even know what could be done alias, like, increase imagination? I don't know, I don't have Kubo's creativity, xD)
That said, he is certainly one of the most appealing beings in the entire Bleach universe, but also one of the most fragile. The limit of his imagination and the processing limit of his brain (after all, he needs to be faster than the enemy and not despair)
Finally, the Brain that appears at the end makes reference to his own existence, he is just a Brain that created that body. In the Last Light Novel of Bleach it is commented that possibly he is the Brain of the King of Souls (calm that part must be explained in the Anime yet)
Yes, Gremmy being disrespectful to Yhwach because he doesn't give a shit about him. He thinks the Sternritter and Yhwach are selfish (except for Liltotto). Gremmy's long imprisonment at the hands of Yhwach have stunted his imagination, preventing The Visionary from reaching its full potential.

so ah important thing from the manga they removed from this episode(I think) is that when kenpachi arrived his squad was nearbye and when they looked at kenpachi they couldnt feel his spiritual pressure in the same way that isshin couldnt feel aizen spiritual pressure when he was in that crystalized cacoon form
so kenpachi has achived a level of power around that of crystalized aizen in his base form WITH HIS EYEPATCH ON
Something to note, Kenpachi broke through reality with a swing of his shikai. A feat that Buu and Gotenks manage by quite the amount of effort in dragon ball. Now get hype for where we put Yhwach in the scale of power at the end of the series.

Gremmy calling himself the strongest quincy is a good indicator of what his relationships with the other sternritter were like. Yhwach literally feared Gremmy's power so much that he ordered him to be sealed up and locked in a cage, and only released him because he desperately needed that extra fighting strength for the war. This shows how ridiculously strong his power was, and Yhwach saw that power as one of the few threats to himself, which wasn't helped by the fact that Gremmy had little loyalty towards anyone, and was mostly motivated by his own interests. All of the Sternritter, Haschwalth INCLUDED, feared Gremmy, with the sole exception of Liltotto who befriended him. Gremmy's claim that he's the strongest isn't supposed to be arrogant or disrespectful towards Yhwach or anything, it's very much true.
Its not about power illz its about who have more reiatsu, so stop posting meat riding comments. But reiatsu is not so much relevant when 2 oponents have similar amount of reiatsu, when that is case, one who win js one who make better tactic or one who have better counter attack. Example, Byakuya vs Couga, Byakyha vs Tsukishima, Ichigo vs Zaraki first fight.
Forget Bankai, he's still haven't use two hands in his Shikai XD.
people really misunderstood yachirus and kennys relashionship. with this flashback now we know that yachiru is really kenpachis true zanpakuto. yachiru is is the Bankai manifestation of Nozarashi

The visionary is the strongest power in bleach, gremmy was just a kid and played around, he could imagine kenpachi dead and he would die lol
In the manga, his soldiers didn't notice Kenpachi until they actually saw him, meaning he can actually control his Reiatsu now and hide his presence like a normal Soul Reaper.
Also the biggest change after his training with Unohana, aside from controlling his Reiatsu and achieving Shikai, is that he can now float in mid-air like any other normal Shinigami.
Not once did Kenpachi float before this fight.
The floating thing is a really nice attention to detail!
TYBW anime sadly abandoned the reiatsu crush effect from the original series when powerful characters are flexing spiritual pressure.
Only reason that makes sense to me is that there are 40ish Captain-levels characters running around during the Invasions and it could become overwhelming & distracting.
That is not why they didn't feel his reiatsu, the reason why they didn't feel him was because his reiatsu became far too big for ordinary shinigami to feel it so they could only feel it when the land rose up due to the increased distance.
@@yushakakarot150 He was clearly hiding his Reiatsu, Omnitsukido style. If his Reiatsu was too big, the other Shinigami would've simply been overwhelmed by it, like whenever he used it before. Or like whenever Yamamoto unleashed his Reiatsu, which everyone could sense.
Not so fun fact: Yhwach locked Gremmy away his whole life because his power was to dangerous & didn't want him to mature.

Basically Kenpachi beat someone that is able to create Galaxies and stars. (Technically he killed himself 😅).

In the light novel its stated that Gremmy created outer space "not a portal". And within this creation layed multiple galxies and stars! So Kenpachi basically beat a dude that was a galaxy level threat, in base and with his eye patch on☠

That's not at all what his ability did, anyone with half a brain cell can tell he didn't create a bunch of real galaxies and stars.
Ya'll need to stop hiding behind "herp derp CFYOW said so" when that's not even what it said. It was a description of the space that Kenpachi was placed into, not an infliction with regard to it's real physical dimensions or contents. The stars/galaxies in the distance you see are just lights, not actual galaxies/stars. The actual vacuum that Kenpachi was placed into wasn't even that physically big - maybe the size of a large house.
Gremmy's best destructive feat is his meteor - he's at max large city level, maybe a bit more if you count the side effects of the blast he'd create.
Hell, even if that *is* what CFYOW said, that's not at all what's depicted in either the manga, or now the anime.

Thats honestly the most brain dead rebuttle that i have ever heard, and regarding the size of the meteor, it can can easily be calculated at aproximatly multi-continental. If you dont think the light novel istelf is a canon source material, than youre just tryna throw hissy fits for no reason. The vacuum of space that Gremmy had created only works as a furthur justification, to why the Soul Society is infintley large. Muken itself is stated to be infintley large, and something with a larger mass(galaxies) can not coexist within a" smaller place holder"(soul society). So in conclusion, Soul Society irrefutably must be larger than the "space" that Gremmy had created. Also if you zoom into the Manga panel, you can clearly see a few galaxies in the background, but its hard to see due to the panel being in black and white. Kubo also further clarified the conistancy of the feat by drawing Gremmy imagining multiple planets and other celestial bodies in his head, after that same chapter had endend! So no, Bleach confidently sits down at Multi-Galaxy Ap wise, which is a lowball. And i can give you the scan if you want to, but im sure you can find it yourself.

I guess there's that one time at the end of the manga where Yhwach was going to merge the parallel worlds back together, so that's planetary - by the strongest character in the manga at the very end of the story.
You're literally that kid in elementary school that felt like his favorite characters had to be stronger than everyone else's favorite characters, so you either cherry picked the tiniest little things to make them seem super out of proportion, or you flat made things up.
A reminder that Gremmy actually buffed Kenny in this fight. Kenny kept his eye patch on and only used one hand.

They omitted a few things, about Gremmy's thinking. Everyone in Sereitei freak out when Gremmy summon the meteor, the sternritters too. Gremmy wasn't in the first invasion because the sternritters think Gremmy is so dangerous.
About Yachiru's shikai, Isane said thing more important that they omitted, I don't know why
Its better to cut that innecesary things den the manga (sternritters reactions) since Gremmy isnt a great threath as Jugram or Gerard, so they didnt add that
