😊😊😊😊
😊
This is another great video my friend
Mike here in México the state of Sonora where I live is noon (12:00 pm). You are right when I was a child thought time last too much now as an adult who works I feel it quickly 😅
The best to you man ❤🎉
I actually went to school with Guy Pierce but looking him up it says he went to a different school maybe because my school was four difficult children he is Wayland for alien as well not sure if friends believe me but I don't care I have a few claims to fame like Hugh Laurie or
Dr House went to the same Christmas party as me a bit young to remember all the faces with names I was with Eve Phillips you can check facts I was not a fan of Blackadder but love house
Sorry about the tangent
I rather it be dark in the morning and lighter in the evening. That's when I finally get to enjoy being outside more.
Time here is THRURSDAY MARCH 21st 2024 @ 10:46 p.m.
They've recently had a meeting regarding daylight savings .
It's about time
I was there...I had a good time.
@@user-dx4br5gd1r LMAO!!
Be Dum Tsss
I love this host. He is smart and funny. He also takes pains to pronounce words correctly and I really like that. He also seems to actually know something about the topics.
Well thank you so much!
Dude, DST completely sucks around these parts. Ignoring that fact that I always really struggle with getting my own circadian rhythms to adjust. Every time we switch, we see a huge increase in road kill. Dead rundown wildlife like deer, foxes, rabbits, porcupines, etc., even domesticated cats lying all mangled up by the side of the road everywhere... it is nothing short of a horror show.
- Because they obviously get used to the rhythm of our rush-hour periods, and then we suddenly just change it one hour back or fourth, totally out of the blue without any warnings, from their perspective.
In Alaska it will be light even around midnight as well as be dark around noon. Certain times of the year, so I'm told.
I was lead to believe that daylight savings time was implemented for farmers
Farmers opposed it.
Daylight saving causing heart attacks is because people force themselves to change sleeping patterns
Keep those Time Videos coming!
I'm enjoying them a lot!
Will do!
@@list25 👍
Old 1960s (or 70s?) commercial. Man takes off his Timex watch and lays it on the ground. An elephant steps on it and moves on. Men ask the man: "What time is it, John Cameron Swayze? Man picks up watcjh, looks at it, and replies: "Time to get a new Timex!"
There has to be a better reason why time seems to go faster as you age rather than just because it's fun to be a kid it makes time seem slower.
You have more of an idea how long a year actually is each one you live through.
@andrewshingleton4062 True, but a lot of times, it doesn't seem so long ago that something happened. It doesn't feel like it's been 15 years since Michael Jackson died. 10 years maybe, but not 15 already.
Each year is a smaller fraction of the life that you have experienced. When you are ten, the next year is only 1/11th of your life. At age 60 the next year is only 1/61st of your life experience so it feels shorter. at 99 the next year will only equal 1/100th of your life experience a drop in a vast ocean of experiences.
Exactly! The older you get, the more 'time' has 'momentum' built up behind you, and momentum tends to cause objects to move faster...since our understanding of 'time' is limited, this is the best we can explain it
The days are long, but the years are short
Well based on the information you have provided, I dont know what damn time it is.
I remember back in the 60s when we first went on DST. There was a TV segment where a reporter was asking people what they thought about it. A spokesman for a group of farmers was against it. He was complaining that the extra hour of sunlight would burn up all the crops! True story.
I hate DST, in this age of 24 hour commerce, there is no need, shops have their lights on all day anyway.
I don't actually change my clocks, they are permanently set on GMT (same as utc), i only change my alarm
When i was working, and even now, i feel more tired during DST.
I think we should stick to standard time, just need to agree the 'business hours', especially for international trade, maybe set it half hour forward so it's in between standard and dst.
You have to think of DST as having to get up an hour earlier for 6 months.
Time, Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
I am just down the road in Crystal River. So same time zone. And this is MY favorite time. I love more light in the afternoon. Even though I am a morning person.
GO GATORS!
Great work again List 25 Team.❤
Oh, it's 9:15 pm😂
For me the beginning of DST is the first sign Spring is closer. Warm and sunny days are even closer!
Here in Arizona, we don't do Daylight time. Who the hell wants to save daylight when the temperature is constantly over 100, often over 115, and a few times over 120? I think Arizona should go on DST in the winter, when we can enjoy the 70's and 80's more.
Thanks, list 25, for an interesting video 😊. Mike, i would like to stay with daylight savings year round 😀.
Daylight savings time dangerous...look at the studies...lots of kids die!! Not healthy
for us...all ways use real time:)
I wish I could subscribe. You are the BEST of the best, Mike. Thank you for all you do for me personally. You are quite the CZcamsR😊
This would be a bad video to watch while high... 😆
Regarding daylight savings, I do find it easier to wake up in the morning when it's light and I feel a lot safer when i go for a jog in the morning.
Though I hated it when I was working nights and the time would suddenly go from 2am to 1am and I'd be stuck at work for an extra hour.
Funny how our lives can be controlled by a figment of our imagination. Even something as intangible as time.
Time actually exists.
Funny how our lives are technically a figment of our imagination
Just like religion 😂
Ikr. This simulation thing seems more and more real.@@REVCRYDRAGON
Time is tangible. Time controls our entire reality. We even created ways to measure time.
Even a broken clock is rite twice a day
Unless it is a 24 hour clock then just once.
.... but daylight savings time means that Animal Kingdom stays open an hour later! This is especially nice for those of us who rather stay until the end, and not rope drop! 😃
i watched this 5 hours after it was posted, so 4pm my time (victoria, australia). it was posted 11am my time
The days are long, but the years are short
"It's time to Time 2"
Idk why but this what the first thought to come to mind when you said this is the second video on time 😆
I've just came back to your channel. It's as good as ever. But what happened with your little buddy? GOD BLESS and stay safe.
7:45 pm est .wow awesome list about to watch the 1st one have a good night
Good one! I was taught time is money 😁
Great video as always, Mike! 😁
I'm not the only one who thought of Pirates of the Caribbean when he mentioned Horology, right? 😂
Noticed something years ago. Week Time and Weekend Time seems different.
Think about. You have something to do during the Week, 2pm comes and you Feel as if you're running late.
But the weekend, you don't feel as if it's Late.
Due to me time traveling in my head I cannot tell you the time I am watching this
When I was kid. Birthdays and holidays seem to take a long timr to come around. Sitting in school and waiting for lunch, recess and when it was time to go home always seem to take forever.😅⏰️
BONUS FACT: TIME IS A MAN MADE CONTRUCT THAT DOESN'T REALLY EXIST & EVERYTHING THE PAST PRESENT & FUTURE IS ALL HAPPENING SIMILTANIOUSLY AT ONCE IN THE ETERNAL MOMENT OF NOW..
Time is definitely _not_ a man made construct. Time expresses itself as sequential events where there are no people around. Or when there were no people around.
Excellent piece, Mike. Time has always amazed me. For example how to animals determine time and the coming change of season, while humans do not seem to do that? I'd just like to not concern myself with changing clocks twice a year. BTW, I like your shirt and cap.
It's nice to have daylight savings time because of the fact that it would be boring if it's all the same time as the year of getting up and going to bed. Also we do this thing and my local club called Glow run where we have a trail loaded with all the glow in the dark stuff so people can find for kids. Kind of like a scavenger hunt that's a glow in the dark. And it'd be hard to do it if there was a later time in the night getting dark to do it.
I love getting the extra hour of sleep in fall, but hate losing it in March!
Because of time zones, the Aleutian Islands extend far enough west that they reach the Eastern hemisphere. Making Alaska the northernmost, westernmost, _and_ easternmost State
Time traveler here. I saw this video 10 years ago 😂
Short vs long lines: I just go to self-checkout, where I usually beat all the other cashiered lanes.
I HATE light in the evening. As a kid, the next-door neighbor's basketball hoop was under my window and I had to endure a couple hours of their practicing as I TRIED to sleep. It didn't help that they had a cute sister who sometimes joined them.
I think the whole world should go on Daylight Savings Time year round.
And I almost always manage to get in the slowest line at the grocery!
No. If you want to get up early, get up early. Don't mess with my clock. Petition your work so you can work 8-4 instead of 9-5. Solves your problem, doesn't bother me.
For the longest time I thought it was Boogie Time. If I could turn back time I'd put time in a bottle so that time is on my side. But seriously Mike, the first time ever I saw your face I loved these list 25s. Keep em coming cause I got too much time on my hands
Time is wild
It was 1:59 AM when i finished watching this specific video for the first time, pun intended. Drinking game: Take a shot of hard liquor every time Mike says the word "time" in this video.
Time is just a concept to relate events, we all live in the present. Any deviances will need to be experienced literally in a black hole area between one place to another.
GMT was not the first standard time first developed "time", it was called the "Prime" metering which ran through Paris France.
I finished this at 7:40 EST. Now I feel old.
That POW! you heard was my head exploding. THANKS!
You're welcome
I always go to New York when time Falls back so I can have that extra hour.
As far as standard VS daylight time goes, I think most people, myself included, find the back and forth twice a year worst of it. What they should do is move the time 1/2 hour ahead from standard time and keep it that way all the time.
9:00 PM CDT I love Pandora at night. I constantly drive with cruise control at speed limit. Watch and curse the racecard drivers weaving in and out, passing on the right in an exit only lane, only to pull up beside them at the next signal light.
Mike, what about a Time Lord ?? As the Doctor says, s/he is from Gallifrey and is the last of the Time Lords. I learned this on the TARDIS.
3:30 am. I love your channel
I wish they would "lock the clock" on DST. On standard time (in the winter) it gets dark so early :(
In regards to DST - I would prefer if it were kept as the standard.
I find, for myself, having the morning a little darker and the evening a little lighter allows me to get more done.
But my work is primarily outdoors, so someone who works primarily indoors will likely see it different.
@13:47= "A man with one watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure."
Because we don't need to worry about burning coal for light why cant we get rid of daylight savings because it sucks when you lose an hour of sleep all because the clock had to spring forward it annoys me I like to get enough sleep
DST year round. I hate when it gets dark at 3:30 in the winter
I LOVE & PREFER IT!
I hate it staying light until 10pm in June!
The clock in the beginning made me die😂
Bulls. One of my sisters was a Sundoll. 3 of the 4 of us are grads of USF. Love your videos and easy to lesson to voice. Look forward to your fun videos.
#HornsUp
Number 20 makes sense of why solitary lock up in an all white soundproof room, wearing only white clothes, and only eating white food (like white rice), etc is so torturous.
Some people can't tell time...they can read a clock, but they can't ever be where their supposed to at the time their supposed be there! Normal people are really irritated by it, but they really can't help it.
I like not changing my clocks. Just pick a time and go with it.
Love your shirt! Both my sisters went to USF.
🤘🏻
Another home run Mike
Got a lot of catching up to do with your vids, Mike! Started having a MAJOR headache all the time starting in late March, which made screen viewing extremely limited, and it was pretty much constant, though it wasn't something serious like major migraines or even a stroke, for that matter, thankfully... Hey, I'm only 35 going on 36! XD Anyway, that headache stayed constant and I had to either avoid small screens altogether or just use them for just a few minutes at a time at most... That meant no List25 vids, argh... Around the end of last month(April), though, I saw my doctor and she put me on medicine that reduced the intensity over a few days, and soon, I was able to use my tech as I normally do again! Thank goodness for that! I was finally able to do that around the beginning of this month(May), but I was still pretty cautious as to how much I used my tech at first, so the first few weeks, I gradually incorporated more and more tech usage, first just checking email and answering texts, then moving to short videos like cat vids, then in the past couple weeks, I finally let myself watch long videos like for video game themes and stuff, and just today(May 21, 2014) finally started back on watching your vids again! W00T!! Got a lot of catching up to do as a result, as I just said, but since it's your channel, it's totally _worth_ it!! You rock, and I love your sense of humor! 🤩🤣
I'm sorry to hear about your headache but glad it's reduced!
@@list25 Thanks, Mike. It's totally gone by now! 🥳😃😊🤩
Edit: Sorry about all those exact same responses; I deleted them. LOL My laptop was lagging BIG time... XD
Like the time machine and Guy pearse being of The Traveller in the film where the moon breaks up
He owns his house and the surroundings is it possible that if he selects 300yrs that maybe to the Observer who might just see him freeze in place with some kind of Shield but where he stays completely motionless until his time reaches it's number and the time machine finishes It's Time space and the traveller moves once again
When he wishes to travel into the past is where the difficulties start
Time & space being always linked
This maybe the reason why it will be
If it takes us 70 years to reach Alpha Centauri and we discover they have a timeless space machine
And we use it to travel home we would arrive 30 years before we left maybe
My early childhood was spent in Hawaii and then I moved to Arizona so with the exception of the 2 years I spent in Romania I have not had to deal with DST.
What he said who keeps track of my mind when the father time lol 😂
8:00am New Hampshire Time!
time flows at the same rate or not but the perception of it varies, for smaller life forms time goes slower, the same goes for when you are a child you perceive time slower and do more things
2 times ,one sunrise two sunset, nothing more nothing less.
For the record: I hate changing the clocks twice a year.
There will be no movements of people Through Time because they haven't yet developed a working time machine until they do no one will be able to travel back until this time when the time space receiver has been developed and switched on
How was they get home without time machine to return them
Time is the passage of events. As long as one atom has one electron rotate around it we have time. If there is no events we don’t have time.
Learnt about a horologist in pirates of the carribbean 😂😂when capt. Jack sparrow told the female lead that she should not be ashamed of that😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂 hi. Mike😊
Musicians that Sight Read time warp daily. We are reading 5-6 measures ahead of what we are actually playing. We are looking at the future.
I wish I could jump on an airplane to head for Pandora😎 it’s magical
Not sure a plane would make it to Pandora lol
time is simply as this: yesterday we were born, today we live, tomorrow we will die.
I prefer Standard time overall... except when it's dark before 5:00pm EST in the winter.
That's why you prefer DST all year round, not ST. With DST in winter as well it won't get dark until 18:00
Midnight ❤central time 😊
I have health issues that cause Insomnia, but it is very irregular! Sometimes I sleep a couple of hours at night, sometimes I sleep all day. Sometimes I go to sleep when it's dark & wake in the dark! I think I've slept a couple of hours & it's the same night, but I find it's the next evening! Therefore I lose a day! That's really confusing, to my body as well as my mind! Back during Covid my fever caused me to lose several days at a time! I don't work nor do I have a TV, so I have no normal time clues!
I despise DST!!! My daughter lives in Arizona, so I always have figure out if there are 2 or 3 hours difference from my home! If they'd just choose one or the other, I'd be satisfied! Standard time would keep AZ always 3 hrs behind, but DST would leave more light in the evening. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other! Since the original reason for DST is gone, why do we still do it??
I finished watching this at 10:52 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024. And if you live so close to Disney that you visit so often, where do you vacation to?
Standard time for me! It should not stay light nearly as late as it does in June and July.
Here is 07:40 p.m. London time. May 13th
I live in Manitoba Canada I want daylight savings it is dark 6 months.
It's 7:37 pm right now central time. You know Iraq and Afghanistan doesn't do DST and I don't even think I noticed it there. Then it could have been because I was wanting to just come home but who knows.
The term what most people mistakenly call Daylight Savings Time, however the actual phrase is, "Daylight Saving Time"
Like the old song says does anybody really know what time it is? I never liked daylight saving time. Just keep the clock 'turned back" all year. I like when it gets dark earlier bc i don't feel guilty if i dont go outside.i know it's rough on my bod when the time changes forward. As for waiting in line at the store, no matter what line I'm in the other line moves faster.
I love dst
You talked about sidereal vs solar days. You should have used that to discuss a day on Mercury. A sidereal day on Mercury is 59 Earth days. 176 Earth days is how long a solar day on Mercury is.
22:22 on a Mon night in the UK (DST)
Time is money and money buys time.
Can’t help but notice your USF shirt-I did a couple of months of temp work for them back in the 1980s. I probably should have taken the job they offered me, but I was doing great as a temp (I learned word processing [such as it was then] in the 1970s) and I had no way of knowing that Bill Gates was going to ruin my life by making it accessible to the masses. _C’est la vie!_
In parts of the country along the westernmost portions of time zones, drive-in theaters were hurt by Daylight Savings Time. Where I grew up in Indiana, along the western edge of the Eastern Time zone, drive-ins in early summer could not start their first movie until 9:40 pm. That was one of several factors that put drive-ins out of business in droves.
Standard time. No one needs daylight at 10 pm. Ditch Daylight Savings Time.
6:37pm May 12 in Australia
So if I move really slowly.... would that make me invisible?!!!
😂😂😂
It works for Drax
No , in order to become invisible you must travel faster than the speed of light .
I know it's a dark subject 😊
You have to travel faster than the speed of light to become invisible
Watching at 5:42 pm on March 22, 2024 est
10 to the negative 18th power attoseconds equals 1 second. There’s more attoseconds in a second than their are seconds in the entire history of our universe. An electron orbits an atom in 200 attoseconds. Electron time will be more accurate than atomic time once we develop it. On the quantum scale, this seems to be the action of time which correlates with the processing of consciousness. So it’s not so much time/space curvature as it is time curving space.
