    Why does everyone use a 7 day week, and where did it come from? Where do the names of the days come from? And who can we blame for Mondays? Here’s the true story of one of the oldest human customs still in use today. It gets a little weird.

    You mentioned mensuration, and it's honestly a good theory of why specifically 7 days (rather than the number 7 itself) would be important to people before math and astrology. I mean, if half of your people bleed for about 7 days for reasons that are unidentifiable to you, you might consider it important to take note of. Especially if you noticed it happened to cycle with the moon.

      I doubt they'd have made that connection since the average period is anywhere between 2 and 7 days, so I don't think it would've been a significant-enough observation
      Edit: also, unless they'd be recording the number of days of the women's period, women dont have their periods at the same time

    This is a pretty damn good video from a theatre perspective. It's like watching one of the countless maniacally insane conspiracy theorists online these days - except this time, ironically, it's entirely based in solid math, science, and history.
    That said, from a teaching perspective, it's a little too hard to follow compared to your other videos.

    In Portuguese the names of the days are "simply represented by numbers" too:
    Segunda - second day
    Terça - third day
    Quarta - fourth day
    Quinta - fifth
    Sexta - sixth
    Then you have:
    Sábado, which I believe has something to do with "shabbat";

      @@musicauthority7828 Yes there are 12 Notes in western chromatic scale and at least 66 notated notes in western music BUT the whole point of this comparison is that we chose to give letter names to only 7 notes . Each Major or Minor scale in western music only has 7 notes i.e. they are septatonic. As a jazz guitarist I use way more than 7 or even 12 note or intervals including slurs and bends in a single chorus of a song .

      And please don't come with the " it's really not 666 but 616, it's all a coincidence or something like that. People who believe in "coincidences" are the same people who believe in "luck" or "destiny".
      Part of 666 (not all) has to do with the roman emperor Nero Kaiser or Neron , however you wanna call him/it.
      The difference is that one has an extra "N" ( "נ" nun, nun equals 50 in hebrew gamatria) The hebrew letter "nun" is equal to the latin letter "N"
      "Neron Kaiser" in hebrew = נרונ קסר
      In gamatria, each letter corresponds to a number.
      50=נ

      + _______
      666
      666= Neron Kaiser (נרונ קסר‎ = NRON QSR) with the two nun's (נ)
      616= Nero Kaiser (נרו קסר‎= NRO QSR) without the extra nun/n (50)
      Subtract a nun (50) from 666 and it equals 616
      Neron was known as Nero in many places, the 616 is just to confirm it's Nero Kaiser. (6+1+6=13)
      Ancient Christians (Christianity is over 2k y.o.) associated Neron to the antichrist, because he was! (antichrist simply means, against Christ) Neron persecuted and wanted to eradicate Christians. (But not exclusively)

Metric time was something proposed in the French Revolution around the time that the rest of the standardized metric system was being implemented. It essentially done away with a lot of the superstition around the measurement of time and also removed any and all names referring to ancient gods. The unidember calendar is a proposed calendar that adds an extra month to the 12 month system. Which means every month is divided into 28 days, exactly four weeks, and it lines up almost perfectly with the moon calendar.

And since there are moons without cleared orbits bigger than Mercury it DEFINITELY doesn't count. That, or you have to start counting all our LaGrange locked space probes.

      @@CharlesBosse But trans-Neptunian just means the object orbits further than Neptune from the Sun, it doesn't have anything to do with size. A planet simply has to be massive enough to be nearly spherical, size has nothing to do with having a cleared neighborhood
