      Hey did you make any moves on the turbo i6 or i4 yet? There are a bunch of guys with the 300 i6 ford with re-sectioned Cleveland or LS cylinder heads, so even without boost 500 HP N/A...

      It was a BeCool for a Chevy application (I think) I've run a ranger and explorer radiator over the years too. Check the recent pinto cooling system video. All those parts got moved to that car.

      Yeah it's been done. It's not worth the hassle and it won't gain anything over the added weight

      @@2300gearjammer Hi I was on some other channels where compounds are used effectively. It flattens out the torque curve. So instead of being a light switch that only works from 7500 to 10500 of peak torque itll extend it to 5000 to 10500. And higher boost pressures due to compounding. There's a fuel tech s2000 making 2500hp using compounding. There are also some 2.3l fords doing the same.

    Wow. First want to say props for going outside the box so to speak And building a 2.3. Second even more props for building a filthy 2.3!!!!! That turbo gave me wood! A lot of people would have wiped their hands and said forget this after the D/S failure.. You kept goin and built a really nice, beast of a fuckin car man. You have my respect 100%!

    Thanks a ton! The 2.3 stuff hasnt happened without a fight but for the most part its come fairly easily once I paid the necessary dues needed to get a grasp on things engines. It helps that I've got some great people on board.

    My brother recently gave me an 84 Mustang SVO with the same engine and it's a banger as far as Shifting the gears go like yours. In time I hope to meet up with you at the track, as I build this car to do as many events as possible Roll Racing autocross and of course drag. This SVO has kicked around in the family for quite some time 20 + years of fun and whooping up on 5.0 &Hondas all through the 80s 90s and 2000. Seeing this has given me the drive to make something fun out of the car.

    We had a naturally aspirated 2.3 that was a Frankenstein of sorts actually was a later model 2.5 sOHC ranger block stroked with a Toyota 22r crank crower rods 15.00:1 compression .654/.684 lift camshaft titanium valves in an esslinger ported d port head used factory ford 2.5 roller followers with a non roller cam and it worked great ported offy intake and a
    Worked 500cfm Holley 2 bbl that little mother was NASTY made peak power at 9600rpm just shy of 400 hp and like 250 ftlbs in a circle track car I like these little sOHC fords

    Boy, I'm a little late to this vid. What's the reciprocating weight (rod,piston/pin/rings) with the aftermarket parts? I have one of these motors (stock) and have been cautioned about revving above 5.5k due to the factory forged piston weight. It looks like you cross the line around 7400. Besides the obligatory fastener and hardware upgrades were there any lower end mods specific to this motor to keep it together at speed?

    Thanks! Check out Boport Racing heads. They can find you something. Just as important as the cam will be getting a job valve job so it may be better to save money until you can get it all done in one shot.

    That's some one the quickest and cleanest shifts I've seen and I can shift... as seen in my vid's but I'm using a stock Tremec tr6060 that could never be shifted as easily as yours. Yours seems falls into gears like a light duty 4 cylinder (no pun intended) vs mine which needs to be man handled into gear. For my next street/strip car I was gonna go auto but after seeing this vid I'm having second thoughts. It almost seems like an auto swap would slow you down which is the exact opposite for most 9 second cars.

I sent that peice of shit to the scrap yard abt 4 yrs ago and replaced it wth a 65 comet with a lil 289 screamer. It likes to break shit too as it turns out. Stock cranks and incorrectly gapped pistons make a mess when u hit em with 175 shot repeatedly...lol

    I see you turned the intake - is that a factory intake on a factory base [ with mods of course] I am wondering if I could change the ECM to the other side of the cam tower on my 2.3

      +Gary Rice It is a factory intake rotated. I left the computer in the same spot but pulled the wires through the drivers side to keep the heat off of them.

    I've got a turbo 2.3 in my ranger but I'm having trouble finding a transmission to hold it what trans are you running in this car?

    I wanted an evo. Love fords but i wanted one bad. Now i found a way to do what i want with a 4 banger stang. 1200hp on a 2.3 coming soon

    The only thing going through my mind when I saw that run from inside the cab was "God Bless America!"... Oh you got a four banger in you car what did you do? Drop a 5.0 into it? Hell no boost the shit outta that bitch and run a time that would make a lot of people running a n/a v8 happy. What kind of pistons are you running on this I want to run about 15 psi boost. The stock connecting rods in a 1993 2.3 are forged and ok to run boost aren't they? What do you think of the garret t3/t4?

      That's a Doug Nash 4+1 5 spd. It's an older version of the gforce gf5r or liberty lsc5100

      +Lawrence Edwards That setup was around 15-16mpg but it didnt get driven much and never got tuned for that.

    do you have a build thread? I wanna do a 2.3 turbo build, but I need some ideas/suggestions as to what parts to run such as pistons, valves etc. let me know if you do please, thanks.
