FILM DESCRIPTION:
Jeff Bridges plays Jeff Lebowski who insists on being called "the Dude," a laid-back, easygoing burnout who happens to have the same name as a millionaire whose wife owes a lot of dangerous people a whole bunch of money -- resulting in the Dude having his rug soiled, sending him spiraling into the Los Angeles underworld.

That “god dammit” is perfect. It just rips through with distortion and you can hear the size of the room. The physical humor of the way he turns his head makes it so perfect, too. I will always laugh at the way he delivers this line.
Also the way the dude kinda jumps lol it even startles him a bit 😂

lmao i’m glad it’s not just me, i remember watching this when i was a kid and Goodman’s delivery of that line made me laugh particularly hard. the head turn comes across like he’s trying to exploit the acoustics of the room to express his rage. it’s so perfect

After my own father died my entire family was in a room of the funeral house looking over urns and prices. As I was looking I slapped down my chair and proclaimed, "Just because we're bereaved doesn't make us saps!" Not a peep from anyone in the room. Haha, god, did I want just one person to laugh.

My brother died two weeks ago. Today would have been his 66th birthday. He was cremated. We will scatter his ashes at a later date. Some of those ashes will be scattered at the ranch he loved so much. Some will be scattered at Red Rocks in Colorado, which was his favorite venue for live music. And as he was a huge fan of The Big Lebowski, I will be flying to San Diego to visit some family and scatter some of his ashes in the Pacific.
BTW, his remains are presently in a Folgers coffee can. Happy Birthday, Bob.

Walter's facial expressions around 1:14 are brilliant - just desperately trying to subdue his anger.
The social commentary aspect of the movie gets overlooked a lot of the time. It's just so brilliant in portraying the forgotten common man being pushed around by the absurd money-driven forces around him. And the Dude stuck in the middle with PTSD Walter. Having to pay $180 they can barely afford because their friend died. It really is one of the best movies ever, isn't it?

At least that was the handle his loving parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. Mr. Lebowski, he called himself "The Dude". Now, "Dude" - that's a name no one would self-apply where I come from. But then there was a lot about the Dude that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And a lot about where he lived, likewise. But then again, maybe that's why I found the place so darned interestin'. They call Los Angeles the "City Of Angels." I didn't find it to be that, exactly. But I'll allow there are some nice folks there. 'Course I can't say I've seen London, and I ain't never been to France. And I ain't never seen no queen in her damned undies, so the feller says. But I'll tell you what - after seeing Los Angeles, and this here story I'm about to unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as you'd see in any of them other places. And in English, too. So I can die with a smile on my face, without feelin' like the good Lord gypped me. Now this here story I'm about to unfold took place back in the early '90s - just about the time of our conflict with Sad'm and the I-raqis. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the Dude, in Los Angeles. And even if he's a lazy man - and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles County, which would place him high in the runnin' for laziest worldwide. But sometimes there's a man, sometimes, there's a man. Aw. I lost my train of thought here. But... aw, hell. I've done introduced him enough.
