It always cracked me up that Walter pulls a gun out during a bowling game, but fights 3 men bare handed😭
There are rules
And one of them had an uzi
and a bowling ball!
League play
No need - they were cowards
- "Are they gonna hurt us, Walter?"
- "No, Donny. These men are cowards."
🤣🤣🤣
Great exchange there...subtle but freakin hilarious!
Turns out, it was enough to kill Donny anyway
@@WheatGrinding Donny probably would have died anyway. His heart attack began in the previous scene (where you can see him rubbing his arm and looking uncomfortable).
I love how Walter roasted Donny for the whole movie, but when they were in “real danger” he was reassuring Donny and taking care of him. True friend.
Except for the fact that him insisting on fighting the nihilists cost Donny his life
@@42Nightsyesterday how could he predict this would happen to Donnie? There's nothing wrong to defend yourself in a fight. And it was Walter who defeated the whole gang alone. So what's his fault here?
*"I got $18 dollars."*
Donny's last words.
Donny was flush the whole time
@@DaGleese yep, that's 4.5X what the Dude has on him
He died for $22
Almost $23
Every time I watch the movie, I catch something new... The number "18" is significant in both Jewish and Indian cultures. For the Jewish traditions, it means gift of life. Given the writers' knack for layered humour, I am convinced this was deliberately inserted.
@@shawnthompson2303 Yes. But apparently some people say that during the last bowling scene he's in, you can see him having signs that he's going to have a heart attack.
So he probably would have had one anyway, even without the Germans.
"Fuckn dipshit with a 9 toed woman " is one of the best burns in all cinematic history
I couldn't quite catch what he said here, thanks.
0:23 “Nah Donny these men are nihilists, nothing to be afraid of” 😂
Love how Walter was trying to calm Donny.
these men are nihilists
Yeah. He actually knew Donny had this thing which if he feels in danger or bad he would have a heart attack. In other scenes walter just tries to shut him up, but in here he answers his questions
Yes, it's the one time he's actually nice to Donny!
@@Unknown-jt1jo the kind of small character detail that sets the coen bros apart.
These men are cowards.
"Take it easy, man.Take the 4 dollars." lmao
Lol
You want a toe for 4 dollars? I can get you a toe for $3.50...with nail polish!
To be honest, if I’ll ever find myself in a situation like this I would love to have a buddy like Walter on my side
There's no better friend or enemy than Walter.
Supposedly he was modeled after the original screenwriter of Apocalypse Now, John Milnius I believe, guess the dude was a g
I hung out with genuine Vietnam veterans when I was young I agree with this msg
Better to be Walter. "What's mine is mine."
Sometimes. That whole pulling a gun in the bowling alley deal probably isn't what you should be.
Yeah cause he’s a Vietnam vet
"Take the 4 dollars!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey, I know you from the Seinfeld clips!
@@sirblankenship Yeah, didn't you make a comment during the "Make love to the wall pervert" scene with the statue?
@@JoeCnNd could be, but don't remember
😂😂😂😂😂
Nihilists entered the world of pain.
🤣🤣🤣
Nice marmot though.
I didn’t like seeing Donnie go
😢😢
i did
Neither did I
Definitely was out of his element. 😭😭😭
In the end, Walter loved Donnie like a brother.
Walter is by far the best character John Goodman has ever played.
I love how Walter just glares at them while Donnie and the Dude count how much money they have lol
Donnie, who’s not even sure what all this is about, was gonna to give up his money to help his friends. What a guy.
RIP
He was truly out of his element
He was a good bowler. And a good man.

"Call the medics" - Vietnam flashback
American movies with m16 riffles , "I got no more ammo!, ammo is out!" but the bunch ak-s are around him but he die with empty clip hahahahhaahahahahah
Oddly enough, despite it being done as a joke in this scene, ambulance crews are often referred to as "medics" in some counties in the US. Ambulance crews that are in service may be designated Medic 1, Medic 2, Medic 3, and so on. Since there are varying levels of "EMT's" its easier to just refer to them as "Medics" for dispatchers and other first responders.
"we got help choppering in"
R.I.P Theodore Donald Kerabatsos
i love that the one dude has a saber but he just instantly goes in for a half-hearted clinch and drops it
Walter latches on almost immediately.
Still better than the guy with the gun. He didn't even manage to get a shot off before Walter bowled a strike through his ribcage. You know breathing's gonna suck for the next few weeks.
I love that Walter knew there were no shots fired. Homie improvised weaponed that fight. The directors put so much detail in all the characters. Each character having their own code and outlook. Its reflected in other Coen brothers movies but Lebowski almost being a comedy somehow makes the writing shine brighter
Wonderful
Walter’s moment to shine.
Luv that they brought their own background music
Because they're musicians seen in Maude's record collection 🎶😄
I love how unironically hard Walter goes in this scene 👍
the best part is Walter saying he wants his dirty undies back
The tragedy is that he never did get those dirty undies back.
"What's mine is mine" he was always big on the rules 😂
Umm it was laundry day. Knowing Walter he has back up upon backup but it's the whites. What's a man to do. Dudes rug gets pissed on. Walter loses his underwear. Donny dies. Touching, emotional ride which wouldn't have happened if the dude wasnt caught in a case of mistaken identity or was he?
Missed the best bit. "We've got help choppering in"
"Call the medics dude." 🤣🤣🤣Walter's still in Nam
Take the $ 4.00 dollars!!!
One of the greatest movies of all time.
When I first saw this at 14 I didn't think I could breathe out of laughter for about an hour. Never seen an ending that funny in a movie.
Donny funerals was my favorite moment 😂
Only movie funeral where I laughed so hard my stomach muscles hurt! 😂
In this scene we get to see what a badass Walter was.
And we get to see that Flea can act when he's not playing bass!
Didn’t even need to go for his gun.
"Show me what you got Nihilist" !!!!!!
Steven Merchant was clearly going through some rough times before doing the Office.
damn... he looks almost the same in jojo rabbit
The intense electronic score under all this idiotic chaos is amazing. It peaks at the shot of the nihilist writhing on the ground with his buttcrack out.
That's Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers
Walter has two modes: teddy bear and grizzly bear. He might flip into grizzly mode at inopportune times due to his PTSD, but if someone gives him a reason to flip into grizzly mode on purpose, then they get what they deserve.
}:-D
Also, Walter is the yang to The Dude's yin.
Exactly.
I love how, despite not being the tough guy he pretends to be, Walter doesn’t back down here.
Seriously? He was gonna blow smokey away had he not marked the frame zero.
@@dmitriciccarelli4082 And he also shrunk away from that guy whose car he mistakenly destroyed. Walter was a tough guy with those weaker than him.
Idk I think Walter was pretty tough here. He fought 3 guys with weapons with no hesitation
@Jimmy Midnight he backed down cuz he knew he was in the wrong. He even apologized, which was not a Waltuh thing.
@@jonlukhe gets it.
Every friend group needs a walter
He bites off his ear like Mike Tyson 🥊👂
“And……I WOULD like my undies back!” 😂😂😂
Only Walter.
I Love John Goodman ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
1:40 Haha The way Walter reacts to the guy pulling out the sword haha
The man with the sword was selected for Walters special treatment so he wasn't hit by the bowling ball.
Walter is the type of crazy friend you can't invite hardly anywhere without something stupid happening. But when someone wants to harm you or those you love, they gotta go through Walter first.
Yeah I've had friends like that. They were great to have around when there was trouble.
The problem was they almost always were the cause of the trouble as well.
Donnie had to go, to move the plot along and he had the funniest funeral I’ve ever seen.
foster's peanuts and the f-ing wind😂
What plot?
I love that foreshadowing of him not rolling a strike and flicking his wrist afterwards in the previous shot.
I hated to see Donnie go down, but that scene was hilarious
Timeless movie. Every episode is a gem.
Not even joking, i have a neighbor upstairs that's just like Walter in the movie in the way that he's an old timer stuck in his set ways like that. Stuck in the "old days"
My coworker reminds me of Walter lol
Walter found out about nihilism that week and he already understood it better than the "Nihilists"
Walter also nihilist. I think. 😂
The F you by Walter is gut splitting hilarious
What’s MINE IS MINE!!!!
Anyone who walks towards you with a straight up F You is not to be messed with
@@jeffberd Damn Right... Those are solid words to live by.
I didn't like seeing Donny go...
I grew up listening to Evergreen Terrace and they have a sing called "No Donnie, these men are nihilist" and I just thought it was a random title. Years later I watched this movie on a plane and this scene legit had me do a spit take
Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers. 😂 love that he just does these roles for fun.
His girlfriend gave up a toe!
She thought we would get a millionaire dollars.
It’s not fair!
I love the joke that despite being nihilists, they still want money
You can think life has no intrinsic meaning and still want a hamburger.
Walter: What's mine is mine.
Never mess with a Vietnam veteran.
I admire Walters tactics. Throwing the bowling ball at the guy with the gun first, closing the gap with the guy welding a sword. And improvising a weapon with the boombox.
Sometimes, you need a Walter..."What's mine is mine". Take that entitled youth.
The Bad Guys had an MP5k and still couldn't win the fight.
They had no reason to make Steve Buscemi adorable in this movie, it's probably one of my favorite roles of his
The way Walter says, "we got a man down dude," is hilarious
They kinda make me think of Rammstein members 🤣🤣🤣
You could tell Donnie wanted to run when the Sabre was pulled but he didn't. He stayed because he's a loyal friend. Even though it literally scared him to death he didn't run. Good man.
They enteted the world of pain.
Walter walks the walk after all
Walter may be an antisocial nuthead, but he wasnt lying about being a badass.
First time I watched this movie I barely noticed that it is basically a detective noir plot, turned into a modern stoner comedy. Now when I watch it, it seems so amazingly obvious that I don't know how I missed it. In my book, this movie is as much a classic as those old Marlowe/Sam Spade movies are although they occupy completely different worlds.
FAIR!?!?!?!?!
Well they finally did it, they killed my ducking car
Walter's fighting skills are actually on point 😂
Took out 3 guys, one with a sword. Echoing prior comments though, where's the .45 he pulled out earlier 😂
I bet anything he had it on him but chose to beat them instead.
Nihilists aren't worth the ammunition.
I always thought why didn't Walter attack sword guy first? But Now i see Flea having a damn gun lol so he gets the ball first
2:00 “take it east Man take the 4 dollars”
Walter" antisemit" that line kiil me every time
We got a man down, dude!
You know, He Too Dabbled in Pacifism, Before Nam, of Course
The movie, crew and principle actors should have cleaned up at the Oscars. Just disgraceful.
Alright, alright, I've got 4 dollars, almost 5... 😂😂😂
Everyone plays at violence, Walter is NOT playing. Walter has PTSD, if I'm guessing.
The closest thing Walter has to PTSD is the residual shock left over from his last diarrhea attack lol. Walter has PTSD in the same way that half of the suburbanites on instagram have PTSD.
Fair!? Who’s the nihilists around here!? Hahaha
RIP Donny 🥺🙏🙏
Vee vaant the monnnnnneeyyyyy Lebowski 😂
Did anyone else notice Flea from RHCP is in this scene
Everyone did. Back in 98
The last person in the history of cinema who didn’t deserve death
Walter prays for these moments.
RIP Theodore Donald Kerabatsos
is that no flea from rhcp?
It’s flea

Needles, Douglas J. "Hey, the big "M"! How's it hanging, McFly?"
flea in this movie was hilarious
Because of Walter I've always wanted to use the line "Come and get it!" on someone. 🤣🤣🤣
Sucks about Donny😔 but don't ever fk with a Vietnam vet!!!!!
Still love that they had Flea as one of the Nihilists!
Didin't know a long time, one of the three guys is Michael Peter Balzary, better known as Flea (Red hot chilly peppers).
This is in my all time favorite movies. Like if I had to live on an island and I could only have 3 movies, this would be one of them for sure. Jurassic Park too
Poor Donny!
You have the nerve to cut this scene off just seconds before he tells Donny that they'll get a chopper? What's wrong with you? ^^
Damn Walter’s a machine. Took three guys out single handedly. Not bad for an old man. Now imagine what he could do 70lbs lighter and two decades younger.
I have been a big fan of this movie for years and it was only today when I discovered that one of nihilists was played by Flea
A shout out for Donny who loved Bowling!
Donny was a good guy
Unfortunately nice guy’s always finish last
Lebowski is living in a crazy world
Every time I watch this movie, I catch something new... The number "18" is significant in both Jewish and Indian cultures. For the Jewish traditions, eighteen or "chai" means gift of life. When Big John moves forward and says “F U” i have a seizure .
1:50 _oof,_ yeah, that probably broke a few ribs.
