NOTE: The original posting of this video had an error. It should have said: "At the end of the round, after the first player token is passed, each player passes one initiative token to the player who just gave up the first player token". This version of the video now says that. It can hurt the health of a video to lose early views, so if you did watch originally, and don't mind watching this new upload, that would really help. Thanks and sorry for any confusion.
Sunuva! I want my money back. =)
Kidding aside, thanks so much for all this work/love =)
@@thigpen The check is in the mail :)
Watch again a video I already watch, won't be the first time in this channel, I love the videos so much that I play them in the background when I'm working (like music :) )
@@lazarocortez3440 I thought I was the only one!
Gutenberg is one of our favorite heroes. Language is a powerful gift and the spread of the written word was revolutionary. :)
Just learned this today with your video! As always, you are the gold standard for what teaching games looks like!
I hope you have a fun time playing - thanks for the kind words!
We were able to play this today! It is so cool! I got to see the Gutenberg Bible in the Congress Library a long time ago. This game really excited me for the theme, and I am so happy it's such a great game to play, too. Thank you for the excellent video!!!
Of, course you would put this video on the day when my Friday night board game meet-up would be playing this game. You always keep me prepared as always.
Team work! I hope you all have a great time hanging out and playing :)
I don't know how many gamers rewatch videos after playing the game once, but we have found that super helpful. I caught something about the gears that we missed in our first playthrough. Thank you for these videos. They are so easy to access & review!
I know I often do - after a first play, a re-watch helps me catch things I might have missed the first time.
Excellent video. This would be an overwhelming rule book to decider and your videos always make games more accessible. Thank you!
So nice to know it was helpful Jurdene - thanks!
I lived in a very tiny town in new Jersey baked Gutenberg... Based on him and how we used a lot of printing press
Great video Rodney! Can't wait to get started.
Have a great time playing George!
The player board and components are very attractive. The topic doesn't normally speak to me, but the artwork is really appealing.
Thanks for checking it out David!
Fantastic explanation!
Thanks so much Troy!
We are super interested in this one. Tom speaks very highly about it at Dice Tower which was the first I think I'd heard about it.
Luke and I quite enjoyed it in our plays!
@@WatchItPlayed The components look great, too! :)
We really enjoy the track-climbing in this game! :)
Me too :)
I like how the wooden letter pieces can also be used for your own letter-printing artwork if you decide to go that route. The publisher must have to have been very careful just to get those letters right, since those wooden pieces look more complex to make than miniatures if they're hand-made.
I hope more board games come out in the future with pieces like that wooden ones in the future, especially when it's released at the retail level and make it feel like a deluxe game from Kickstarter. Maybe it could lead to a new hobby of letter-printing artwork.
Yeah, the wooden pieces here are pretty intricate!
Great work on those pronunciations. Though I'm not surprised.
~ smiles ~
I did my best!
Question at what specific moment are the cubes placed on gears removed?
This is part of the steps involved in preparing for the next round. This would happen just before players reset the initiative cubes.
Was this game around in a different form years ago?
Not that I know of.
@@WatchItPlayed It is such a cool idea. I guess I've just heard Tom from Dice Tower talk about it for a while now. He loves it.
Wait, I watched all the way until the end, but no Steve Guttenberg. So disappointed. ; )
Fun fact: This is Steve Gutenberg's second favorite game after the Police Academy boardgame from 1990.
Are you sure you didn't miss him? Perhaps watch again? :)
@@fruhmann LOL! Well played, sir! ; )
Can you buy type pieces before you start fulfilling orders as long as its before you fulfill the first one in the fulfill order phase?
Correct! The basic idea is that you can't use a type you gained from filling one order to fulfill another order.
I watched the other video. What was "fixed"?
At the end of the round, after the first player token is passed, each player passes one initiative token to the player who just gave up the first player token.
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks. The other way sounded odd, but I just went with it. 😆 Thanks for the videos.
That makes way more sense. When I heard that in the original video, it sounded so odd, since that gave so much power to the new first player.
