    Whoever they have designing games at prospero hall deserves a raise. Their games are way better than they have any right to be.

      They often surprise people with what they can do with an IP!

      They deserve a raise and, more importantly, they deserve to BE CREDITED. It's insanely disrespectful to the game designers to not have their names credited in the game!

    • @pnpgutterfold

      @@thiagobaptista Your comment really needs to be elevated. In the book-publishing and media-publishing industries, it's considered standard practice to list the authors or actors, respectively. It's only board games where such liberties are taken.

    There's a definite Mysterium feel with this one.

    Another amazing teach! Prospero Hall really are next level in their designs and love for each IP. I used to work for an Alfred Hitchcock (a former UK Chief Constable, not the film director). He was always having to convince people he wasn't making his name up and an award I got from him looks fake because of the name! 🙂

    Risking overgeneralization, this seems like a Hitchcock version of Mysterium. Thanks for the video Rodney!

      Well maybe it's not aimed at "the kids". I'm 36, a board gamer and I've seen Rear Window plenty plus the parody version in that Simpsons episode where Bart breaks his leg, can't play in the Simpsons' new pool and watches the neighbours then thinks Ned kills Maud. I'm glad it's not based off some new film that may or may not have longevity.

    Hi Rodney - I got hold of a copy of Rear Window today and already love it! I do have a couple of queries though, that you might be able to help me with. Firstly - in a Window Phase, can the Director swap an already played Window Card for a new, perhaps more apt, card they have drawn after playing a Cut Token? Secondly - and this might be an English English vs American English (vs French!) thing - I wonder why the designers went for the attribute ‘Gourmand’ - which implies someone is excessively fond of eating and drinking - instead of ‘Gourmet’ - someone who has refined tastes and knows a lot about food and drink? This one doesn’t really effect gameplay apart from most of the food related Window Cards depicting food don’t depict an excessive amount of food.

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  Před 2 lety +1

      1) Nope, once placed, they can't swap the card.
      2) No idea on that one :) I guess they wanted to go more for what Gourmand implies than Gourmet?

    Prospero hall, as it was known, is no more. The company (funko) was bought out, became a shell company, and all their original designers were let go. This is really bad news as they produced some of the most novel, cheap, and still excellent component games.
