Yes, yes, yes. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your soul.
    What a wonderful session.
And I also agree that questions are far more important than we might think. We can trust the Holy Spirit to remind us of what Jesus taught especially is we give Jesus the time to teach us.

I'm not religious, but I watch a lot of Apologists. Sean is one of the best. He always does a great job. I love his enthusiasm and his ability to take a complex issue and explain it to the level that everyone in the audience is on his page.

I think he's great too! He does a great job!
BTW: You said you're not religious. What does that mean to you? What do you think of what the various apologists have to say?

    • @Dreamprism
      @Dreamprism Před 3 lety

I'm also not religious. In my case, I mean that in the sense that I have seen a lot of people propose reasons to believe in God or Christianity but have found their reasoning to be flawed. But I don't know that a God in general doesn't exist. Some would call me an atheist; some would say agnostic; some would say both words fit.
I'm not very familiar with Sean, but from this video he sounds fairly good in terms of guiding Christians into apologetics. And he seems generally nice and understands and teaches productive dialogue.

I am an atheist, but I agree. Sean is the most likable apologist I have ever listened to. His focus on being loving human beings and listening to people is refreshing. Christianity would be a lot more popular if more Christians had his emotional intelligence and charm.

“Why should we turn to someone other than historians or scientists, the experts in their related fields of research, for answers related to history or science? Apologists are just there to take advantage of you, telling you what you want to hear when the evidence tells you otherwise. The sheer existence of apologists is reason alone to raise suspicion. Their dishonesty is blatant when you simply double check what they say. In the end, historians and scientists are not just one big conspiracy against Jesus, the Bible is simply wrong about most things.”

"Always be Ready to give an answer", eh?
There's alot to wonder about. Such as:
    1. Has anyone ever taken-on Bertrand Russell's article/book "Why I Am NOT a Christian" point-by-point or disproven him? Who? in what book?
    2. What was "the DIDACHE"? Who wrote it? When? and why wasn't it included in our Bible?
    3. If Heaven is a place of no sorrow or pain, and a place of Joy, then will we be aware if our spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend isn't there and wont that deminish our happiness?
    4. when people have a "near-death exeperience" and meet the "being of Light"...isn't it odd that with all the cases and testimonies we have -- that no one bothers to ask the being of Light:
    A) where are we in this dark tunnel, and why cant i see any of my deceased relatives?...and...
    B) Who are YOU (the "being of Light" ?? Note: people Feel its Jesus or God but NO ONE ASKS! and sure, the being of light could lie, but still....
    C) No one asks the being of light: WHO is over you? Who do you serve? Do you love Jesus?
    D) after having that experience, most of those people don't go to church. They just go around saying how they dont fear death, but how many keep attending church? How many keep reading the Bible? How many keep praying?
    5. Where was ADAM buried? And Eve?
    6. Adam and Eve had "Seth". When Seth had kids, and then his kids had kids and they grew up, in what country were they living?
    7. Who was Origen and what were his 2 or 3 main beliefs?
    8. BIBLES -- these days, everything is done by "committee". i.e...the ESVor the new CSB translation comes out and it was worked on by many sholars representing different denominations. Thats not necessarily bad but---
whatever happened to, and what do you think about translations that were done by 1 person? Such as:
    Goodspeed's translation
    J. B. Phillips
    Moffat's translation
Weymouth's and so on. These were more widely used in the 50s, 60's and 70's. People were much less squeamish about using them. Just because its by one person doesnt automatically make it wrong. You could also argue that bibles by "committee" or "peer-reviewed" are simply "too politically correct". Whatever happened to these translations?
    9. Whatever happened to "YOUNG's Analytical Concordance" ?
Strong's has practically "cornered the market"? Why? How? What's wrong with Young's?
    10. Who was Pelagius? What did he teach?
    11. Who were the Saducees? Who was the first one? What happened to them?
    12. Who wrote Genesis? Who wrote the Hindu Rig-Veda? Why dont we know?
    13. Why does PAUL "dominate" so much of the New Testament when he wasnt even "one of the 12" apostles?

Hello there. This video is very good. Sean McDowell has some very good points and I really like him! So I'm asking, Sean, what are your thoughts on Christians and pornography? I read somewhere that 1 out of 2 church goers are active porn watchers, and I was just curious about your thoughts on this. Thank you and God bless you.

6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. - Matthew 7:6NIV
If someone is truly in desire for truth and you give it to them, in time, they will believe.
Try convincing a toddler that they will probably like the taste of something if they will just give it a try, or that they will actually enjoy a particular ride at an amusement park. Once they make their minds up about something(usually based on how it looks) you can't change it.

1Corinthians1:3ASV"3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort". Obviously the God and Father of Jesus is both a God and a Father. How then could he be equal to Jesus who Trinitarians assure us is not a God?

Further down this video I heard your atheist explanation. I had shared one of your videos about marriage on social media before I understood, and later deleted it after I saw one of your videos refuting Christian doctrine to the audience's questions. I was so afraid that I had not noticed lies or deceptions in the video and was helping in misleading others.

Psalms83:18ASV"That they may know that thou alone, whose name is JEHOVAH, Art the MOST HIGH over all the earth." Note please that there is but one named JEHOVAH. Note also that this one is the MOST HIGH. Thus if ones God is associated with multiple co'equals (e.g the Trinitarian Jesus). He is not the Lord JEHOVAH.

(Shaking my head...) Originally from the Greek (e.g., "apologetikos"), it means to speak in defense of, to be an advocate for, to offer in defense of. It has LITERALLY nothing to do with "apologizing," i.e., saying you are sorry for something. You think you are playing chess, but you are barely playing "Go Fish."
