"Friends, nothing is true because you feel it. In fact, if you live your life based on your feelings, alone, you will destroy your life. Don't guard your mind by your feelings. Guard your feelings by your mind".

In a study that was conducted by the University of Chicago, a link was found between non-religious upbringing and
kindness. In fact, children who were raised without religion were not only kinder but also showed more empathy towards others.
While most would believe that religion and a higher power breeds a better upbringing, this study seems to indicate otherwise. Led by Professor Jean Decety looked into the perceptions and behavior of various children located in six different countries. They looked into the children’s likeliness to share, as well as their habits regarding judging others or punishing them for bad behavior.
“Overall, our findings … contradict the commonsense and popular assumption that children from religious households are more altruistic and kind towards others,”
“More generally, they call into question whether religion is vital for moral development, supporting the idea that secularization of moral discourse will not reduce human kindness - in fact, it will do just the opposite.”

What measures kindess? What were the control variables? Has this study been peer review? Has the study's findings been replicated? What are the researcher's area of study/ background? Are there any conflicting area of interest?
Based on how people view kindess - agreement with anothers beliefs, topics in which one believes in and then acts on, care for the "less" of society - conclusion can be prone to bias via world view. What if one has the view that people have no sin they need to be saved from, and view to be offensive and intolerant the gospel or relgion in of itself?
Do you have the link to the study? The conclusion means nothing without the context and needed info

The argument isn’t that you need to be a religious person to know what morality is. it’s that everybody was created with morality written on our hearts no matter how we live. and if there is no God there can’t be objective morality, it’s only a matter of opinion.

@@mashah1085 that has nothing to do with the truth of Christ. The truth of Christ is a worldview that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. that doesn’t interfere with your best friend or spouse being truthful to you or not. Can't someone learn from many different Christian sources even if some have faults? Some people are way too sensitive when it comes to Christian teachings they find one kink in the armor and they think it's the devil. They're still human! Not one Christian pastor or spiritual leader is perfect.
They still haven't put outdoor speakers at my church should I raise a big fuss and quit the church for that?
