I have been doing this for 24 years and I never knew about those wire splicers. I also have never used those corner pieces. We usually just rivet things like that for odd diffuses and such. I think I'll check into getting those next time since they make for a cleaner job. This why I like to check out videos like this even though I have done this for years. If you ever feel like you are too smart to learn any more, you're not very smart at all.
Well said brother
I wish my boss thought more like you and I wouldn’t have to be looking for a new one. Might be time to do my own thing, I hate doing half assed work even when the person paying me tells me that’s what they want done. Maybe there is reasons for it that I don’t know about but it sucks knowing you could be doing a better job in the same amount of time if you were allowed to Ok. I got my complaining out for the week. My bad
this is something that I have never done before so I thought I would have a look at some different videos, I came across your and I think its the best video by far,
thanks you.
lets see how I go on tomorrow...
I do commercial framing and acoustic ceilings are part of that. Some additional tips:. When securing wall mold to drywall make sure you are not screwing into the studs. It's easy to tell where the studs are because they will either be visible at that height or the drywall itself wont be finished at that height (finished as in drywall compound applied to joints) so look for for the screws to know where the studs are. If my blueprints call for the ceiling to be at 9 foot then I will take several measurements around the room as floors are never 100 percent level. Look for the highest point and measure your 9ft there, that way you have a minimum of 9ft all around the room. To find the high point you can put your laser at just a few feet above the ground. Turn it on and measure down on all the walls from the laser to the floor. The shortest measurement will be your highest point.
You said "don't screw into the studs."?
@@strongholds12 Yes, don't screw the wall mold into the studs.
@@Stickyrolls123 i don't think so. That's the only place im screwing it in
@@Stickyrolls123 ok, but tell us why
@@Feronom sucks it in , looks bad . Wall mold doesn't hold up the ceiling , wires do .
Nice work guys, thanks
Esta perro el vídeo, ellos saben lo que están haciendo, buen video.
Thanks for information 🙂
I've done a couple of suspended ceilings in my home and the one thing Ive learned is to NOT use the crumbly style tiles but instead the flexible fiberglass ones. The crumbly ones crack and stain too easily and you can install the ceiling higher because you dont have to leave nearly as much room above the tracks to feed the tiles over and drop into place
Tnx for another tips.
I liked the vídeo, is realy good,Thanks a lot
Watching here thank you for sharing
thank you very much
do you have a video showing how to cut the shadow molding?

When you are placing the perpendicular dry lines, can you start at any corner, or does it have to be in a specific corner?
any square corner will do
@@azaz... what if the walls are not square?
Do you make the installation? How much?

I looked for this 3 way clip all over the place and I cant find anything closer to this. Where can I find one of what shud I use on my ceiling....?????
@@ArmstrongCeilings Thank you. I have already got the stuff that I needed. And also I will buy ceiling tiles from your distributor due to the best price in town.
Thank you once again.
Super nice bro
Ihnk you
what is the size of main and cross members ,what is type and spacing of suspenders, what is the thickness density of insulation pads, what is the rate per square meters for acoustical false ceiling from armstrong ,what are the technical specifications of the materials being used in insulated acoustical false ceiling
SR MGR CIVIL 7/8ths
The rest is of specification.
Eliminate a step and gain speed By using punch pliers to adjust/tap grid to dry line instead of wire cutters.
I want to now how did the Esquire in the small string
Yes please
U should do a video on 9 /16 grid
It's harder lol
👍👍👍
me pueden mandar vídeos en español
❤❤❤
Great video but is the music background helping? Should include the option to remove. Just say'n.
The string lines need to be square. You can not go with the walls unless you know they are exactly square
Really surprised they didn't talk about that. I wanted to see how they did it because the only way I know how to do it really would be to mark it on the floor and laser it up.
Eska rets kya h
Woooo
It’s a good video overall but missed a lot of small details
Should do the music with heavy metal
everything was going good until he tied that first wire at 15:00.
I was part of my local acoustical ceiling union, eh....
Steve Ryan how did you like it ?
Armstrong!?!! Listen up. Include a version of this WITHOUT THE GD MUSIC?
I need to smoke a bowl , after watching this , over whelming
You should watch the seismic ceiling video
Why is the first main runner 9 feet off of the wall?
Freedom WatchDog maybe they didn't want a 12" peice of main on the other side.
It's not 9' from the wall. It's 9' from last cross tee slot on the runner to the intersection of the crossing dry line, which is one border tile (16") + half a 24" main tile (12") away from the wall. Then they add 28" (16" + 12") to that 9' mark and cut the runner. So the first main runner is cut at 136" from the last cross tee slot. (Note, the last cross tee slot is 3" from the end of the runner. So the cut is actually at ~139", with ~5" of waste. But you always make your reference marks in relation to a cross tee slot, not from the end of the runner.) You can never use a full 12' runner starting/ending at a wall.

Lol. No one knows the real tricks ;) I would like to keep it that way.
I work with suspended ceiling and I have done like almost 100m² (1076ft²) in one day. Some of these steps looks dumb and time comsuming
It’s an instructional video. Speed come with experience. Let’s try being positive here. It’s free

its a giant IKEA ceiling.
No ikea ceilings are all metric hung with all thread and bucket type things this isn't even close to the same

After watching my contractor install this in my basement I can assure you that this is not DIYer friendly, they shouldn't even sell this in hardware stores lol
Thanks for your comment Jordan. It’s all about getting the proper layout first with your laser or string lines. After you can insure everything is laid out square, it’s not that complicated. The first time you do it, it will take about 10 times longer than the 5th time you do it. But I guess many things in life are like that, Lol
Back cut that outside corner a little much.

Wear a damn mask when tiling unless you like hacking up a lung at the end of the day
Why 28 off of the short wall? I get that it's 16 plus 1/2 of a tile which totals 28 but why run the short wall dry line 1/2 the way across the tile row?
There he is, mr safety fucktard
Freedom WatchDog preference
@@freedomwatchdog2495 Good question. I was wondering the same thing at first; they should have explained it. But after thinking about it for a while, I believe the reason is because when they start installing the cross tees, the cross dry line would be in the way (plus the cross dry line position could be disturbed by the installation of the cross tee). Since cross tee slots on the main runners are spaced every 6", it's just easier to place the cross dry line at half a tile (1 foot for 24" tiles or 2 feet for 48" tiles) and reference the cross tee slots from the center of the tile.
no one will know you are a 20 minute apprentice! lol
Kyle Sherman believe me they will KNOW, it looks easy, but the minute you have to actually begin, guess what, you will get lost no doubt. most apprentices hang wires for up to a year before they let them hang grid, not as easy as you think
I hate the empirical system
Wow dude... you're making it way more confusing than it should be this is not fucking rocket science
A. Boisjoli not as easy as you may think. I have done commercial installations as a wall and ceiling contractor for over 20 yrs and let me tell you, most people think it is easy. once you actually start, it can get confusing. 1st, layout is critical as certain points must be considered in case a light fixture has to fit up against a column and not into the column (lol). then once you begin, what happens if it isn't square? adjustments need to be done correctly so it doesn't run out on one side or the other. then, light layout, runner layout, different layout, all before you begin. pop rivet only 2 walls for expansion, set up lines, not as easy as one thinks. many have told me they had over 20 yrs experience and when I showed them some plans and told them to go install those rooms over there, then they get lost. really not as easy as one thinks, but when you do know, it is like a jig saw puzzle with all the same pieces, piece of cake. do not fool yourself into believing it is just so so easy, cuz as a beginner there are so many things that will confuse you and mess it up, and believe me, time is money and I know how long it should take someone to install grid
I could do 5 rooms to your 1 doing it slow like this
Its a tutorial video.
@@masonholdren392 a lot of stupid people in these comments claiming that the installers here are too slow, no shit, its a tutorial video. Not too many details, but it is great and explanitory. I give it a big thums up
Dawg he’s taking his time so we, the viewers understand what’s happening 🙄. Nobody would understand shit if he was working on a production schedule
Lmao the way he ties wires sucks and they wall mold suck too
I recomend no to talk to much in the videos. Too many advertaisment. Please. Go straihgt to the video
I just want to say these kinds of ceilings are the fucking worst and annoying as fuck when the rats 🐀 begin to eat at the corner and and run wild
on the panels at all types of hours of the day….
Waking up with dirty all over your shit..
WORST SHIT FOR A CEILING
Noooo the Hispanic it's so better to do this tip. Use a shoot gun concrete nails to put the wall angulo bye bte
