- Since 1969, visitors to Knott's Berry Farm were transported back in time to experience what happened inside a California gold mine. Ever since, the Timber Mountain Log Ride has been a staple at Knott's. Take a journey through the history of the Timber Mountain Log Ride. This was awesome. More Knott's history, please!
THis was great to watch. I was there in 1975. Great memories.
That geek is a historian and co-author of Knott's Preserved. We're lucky to have these younger generation keeping wonderful history like this alive and available to us!
I LOVE THIS RIDE SO MUCH
Still my favorite ride at Knotts Berry Farm!
Log Ride > Splash Mountain
I’m a Disneyland Fan & I 100% agree.
I remember one Sunday morning in early spring 1968 my dad and I, along with Dick Nickle (a mutual friend of Bud's and my dad and I) listening to Bud talking about a log ride that they were going to build at Knott's called The Log Ride, describing it in detail. I told my friends about it the next day and they thought I was lying. Lol
Arrow Development is the unsung hero of all these theme parks. Incredible engineering, in a little company right near my home town. I never knew it even existed until I started helping a friend research a local park that went out of business years ago, and was astonished at how much they contributed to the American "theme park culture".
the brave little
"Many other parks have attempted to copy it..."
Cough-Splash Mountain-cough
Quan Narula cough disney and knott were friend big thunder was inspired from the mine ride cough
And knotts is older than Disneyland right
@@mcchickenboi1086 yea, america's first theme park is Knott's.
I remember in 1979 when Bud Hurlbut wanted to come over and walk through Disneyland's new Big Thunder as Tony's guest. I gave him a tour of the genuine mining artifacts and show I had gathered for this attraction and think he was impressed by the items laying in reserve throughout. He went back and added more artifacts to his 2 attractions and then invited us over to see them. He has always been an inspiration especially at Euro Disneyland's Big Thunder, which is the best of the 4.
knotts should have a steampunk month. With singlestick ,bartitsu, demos.oldfashion preserved canning and candlestick making, old style beehives. with Disney star wars.I think knotts should go with steampunk. Imagine a blimp ride between the parks
I'm 10 years late to your comment, but ... that's not a bad idea.
I was there that day, the place was packed!
Boo Yah Disney and Knotts are Friends
All of the amusement parks ive been to have this ride.
"It's been tested". Yes, I was one of the "guinea pigs" at Six Flags Over Texas that rode the original as a kid.
I guess Disneyland's Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride opened in 1967 and is the first Pirates themed flume ride with drops and lifts. I love Buds later historical logging theme.
SIT DOWN!
In the last photo. I wonder what was going though Mr. and Mrs. Knott's mind and if they ever went back out the ride?
Waoow that is nice to known .gr jeffrey verspaget.
John Wayne opened the ride...
Born and raised in Southern California, I’m excited to be moving back all the way from Pennsylvania! Now with kids, you best believe I’m taking them to one of my all time favorite parks - Knott’s Berry Farm! On a side note, why does Walter Knott look so stoic and kind of miserable in his pictures? No disrespect, just curious... was he a lighthearted man??
3:43 Tony Baxter!
