Magnet fishing and metal detecting were great and I would have loved to keep searching but we needed more time. 17:30 looks like a dry well - not a dried up water well, but a large empty hole that the rain gutters on the house would drain into and the water could sit there until it soaked into the ground at its own pace.
Right! So maybe the other one is the septic?
It's a soakaway to collect rainwater from roofs & car parks and let it soak into the sandy soil. The walls are bricks with gaps between them to let rainwater soak into the sand. Not very old as there is a plastic pipe into it. probably added when the house was built. Can't believe you've left the real treasure by the tree!@@BondiTreasureHunter
@@BondiTreasureHunter The property looks too small to support a septic field, so I wouldn't think so. They have all sorts of set-back restrictions on those away from property lines and buildings. I just looked up "soakaway" that nickbea3443 mentions and that's apparently the British name for them. The "dry well" I gave is the American name, and I had no idea they used different names.

Looks like a fun hunt. Hopefully one day far in the future someone finds the treasure I buried across my creek. I got numerous coins from modern all the way back to BC times, and many buttons. Tons of various other things too, including a genuine meteorite. That yard there reminds me alot of mine.

Growing up my friend had an uncle who was mob affiliated. He got out of prison after like 20 years. They had a family farm, he went there and uncovered his hiding spots.
There was a mound of gold rings, chains, watches plus a stack of money.
I couldn't believe it. I bet there was like a million dollars.
We were there it was crazy to see that much money.

Those round deep holes aare called Dry Wells. I have 2 in my back yard. One collected the water waste from my kitchen, and the other collected the bathroom waste. Of course all of that is piped into a septic tank now, but the holes are still there.
So that’s what the other one might be for! Good place to hide some treasure though 😃👌

Oh wow! I hope you all were able to keep digging to find out what that other area was hiding. That would be awesome to see. This was so much fun. Reminded me when I was younger with my metal detector. I'd ride my battery powered bike in my parents woods and found loads of treasure, stuff from parents years ago, and items left from the previous owner who had built the house back in the 1920s-30's. I was so intrigued doing my own metal detecting hunting because the original owner of my parents place was a Native American. Happy New Year to you all. Can't wait to see next week and if there is an update on this one. :)

What an exciting treasure hunt. Possibly the second cement cover with the bicycle rim could be just like the first one you found, an empty unused septic tank. Until the cover is removed, no one knows what's hiding underneath it.

Sure the treasure is there but at least she knows there are 2 wells on the property if she needs them. Well, 1 for sure with a possibility of 2 but great metal detecting and good finds. Want to see that ring after it is cleaned up.

The American servicemen would leave coins where they battled to mark the place where they lost their companions fighting in WW2. Generally in woods. If you ever come across US coins leave them to the earth as a sign of respect .

I do a lot of metal detecting myself. I have found structures like that. Never any real treasure in them though. But you never know! I hope there’s a second part to this one.
