Incorrect. About a 2/3 of the oil that the United States imports is from Canada.

War weariness? For some odd reason I often have only one city taking ALL the war weariness. It may have to do with proximity to the battlefield, but I would expect more distribution :/
Last war Madrid took -15 with a total of -7... and the other cities were zero or even positive XD

I meant stock I guess. -15 due to war weariness with a total of -7 for Madrid, that means 8 amenities in that city were reducing this otherwise atrocity. :o

I really wish that if cities remained free for long enough that they'd become city states. I have a marathon game going where there's a block of about 4 free cities with full loyalty just sitting around spawning units now and then.
i know its old, but civ 4 with RI mod has this feature. Revolting cities and barbarians form new civs
Free cities basically never remain free now, but with latest expansion, barbarian tribes do advance to be city states. It's actually a bit of a problem to balancing lol
@@left4twenty I always reduce the number of beginning city states when playing Barbarian Clans cuz otherwise, there's just way too many. But you always need at least a couple beginning city states cuz they're the ones that pay the clans into becoming city states, so without any... you just get overrun with barbarians.

It would be cool if they became a city state and would only join another doc if they shared a lot in common (focus, religion, proximity, etc)
Larger cities can keep independence, especially when multiple cities revolt in quick succession

texas only really revolted because mexico didnt allow slaves and since the US did the english speaking settlers there had no problem joining
Interesting fact about the Alamo it actually kicked off over gun control. Mexico had loaned the Alamo Garrison a cannon to use against local raiders and wanted it back once rumors of revolution started spreading. The response from Texas? “Come and take it,”

HellspawnStudio nah philosophy majors have some cool choices if they do really well in school now a days. Medical ethics is a growing field along. Lots of hospitals would like to have people they can go to when weird situations come up. Not to mention ai development is talking with philosophers in an attempt to hopefully not make something bad for us long term wise. That's just some examples. Philosophy majors are trying to enter the debates as well on things like self driving cars and other tech services being created. This is one of the most complicated time periods in human history in terms of ethics.

Are you familiar with Stellaris, guys? It's similar to Civ, but on an interstellar scale. Between xenophobia, kill-bots, space-dragons, planetary annihilation, and planets made of drugs, I think it could inspire some hilarious videos.

Not literally, but there is a living standard setting called "Chemical Bliss" it's the "Pump them so full of drugs they can't remember their problems" strategy, they actually get worse at everything on that condition.
And there is a planet covered in flowers that has pollen that is an aphrodesiac, eventually leading to a doomsday cult rendering it uninhabitable.
Not really planets made of drugs... Only planets full of dangerous mushrooms (They're not worth it!).

I remember there was a mod which had cities revolt and form new city-States. Pity they didn't use that for the expansion.

So true...and for more games than just Civilization. Even Europa Universalis had this silly mechanic of revolting countries without a tag joining other empires.
