"Please Hold to My Hand" is the name of the Hank Williams song he played in the truck when Ellie handed him the cassette. That's the most direct in-episode reference. As you discuss, I think there are more metaphorical dimensions with Henry and Sam and even, to a certain extent, Joel and Ellie getting closer despite his attempts to keep her at a distance.

I'm not a country fan at all, but I love that song (called Alone and Forsaken). Any music can be enjoyable in the right context. Like the rap music in Office Space. I would never listen to that otherwise, but it's such a great choice.

The dude in Kansas City (the guy with the big beard) working for Kathleen was a cast member in the game, he did the voice and mocap performance of Joel's brother Tommy. The actors who played Joel and Ellie in the game also appear in this series in different roles. The actor who plays Marlene in the game also plays her on the show.

Last video I mentioned how y’all miss on some good moments that were in the game but I realized it’s so much better you haven’t played the game. You can focus on all the good and not what’s missing. Still a great game to play but it’s definitely better to watch the show first.

Thanks for worrying! We don't think it's connected, but we do both edit a lot in front of the computer, and have a full time job in addition..
So it's probably the result of not enough sleep and a lot of work, haha😅
