Squidward standing up for spongebob at the end is what makes this one of my favorite episodes. Not only because this episode is funny, but we see one of those instances where squidward feels bad for spongebob and that he does care
And also cuz we get to see a rude customer suffer the consequences 😂😂😂
Wish all fast food employees are allowed to hit back those type of customers in real life. Fast food employees really deserve more respect and it's messed up how there are some people who insult them or even psychically hurt them just because the employees do a simple mistake.
I think people also overlook that Squidward saved SpongeBob from getting run over… at no small risk of getting run over himself.
@@firemiracleEhh.. I agree with fast food employees being able to stand up for themselves, but it’s not right to get physical with any customer. If a customer does harm an employee they should call the cops and have them arrested for assault.
@@ammash3000 it's kind of funny how far they push squidward and spongebob always being against each other during future seasons. Future squidward would've let spongebob be crushed by the truck and laugh about it. The current squidward is one that looks down on spongebob for being annoying and naive but doesn't exactly hate him. All character development thrown out the window later tho

23:00 Fun fact, they originally wrote this scene without Squidward, but realized that he was in the last scene, so they needed a way for him to leave Mr. Krabs and Bubble Bass alone, so they just made Bubble Bass yeet him

I loved when Squidward stands up for SpongeBob cause it shows that he cares.
Also, the guy actually _did_ order a drink. It’s just implied that Krabs either didn’t hear him right or hung up before the guy could finish his order.
I love that the half of the order Krusty Krab didn't deliver is part of the order they have on the menu (drink) instead of one that they don't (pizza)

The drivable rock is a reference to how in real life the currents of water would push rocks away and sea creatures use these waves to travel
There is a surprising amount of stuff hidden in spongebob that's played off as ridiculous but is actually logical. I feel like if the technology was around, if the kind of television show was more normalized, or if he had the amount of power he would have this early, Hillenburg would have a ton of annotations and remarks built into the show explaining what these ideas are based on. Kinda like a director's cut or like how Impractical Jokers had annotated episodes for a while

One of Squidward’s best moments for how he stood up for his annoying neighbor/co-worker, no matter how much SpongeBob may get on his nerves.
Note: It was a 'Truck' in the form of a tugboat hauling a liner ship.
It's almost never explored in the show again, despite being a pretty smart visual.
Pickles is such a relatable SpongeBob episode for anybody who has performance anxiety and wants to be at the top of their game constantly. There were so many life lessons that old SpongeBob taught us and for that episode it was not to undersell yourself and give yourself credit for your abilities. One of the best modern cartoons ever made.

Squidward defending SpongeBob in Pizza Delivery is one of my favorite moments in the series. It seems like SpongeBob is overreacting as usual, but think about seriously SpongeBob takes his job; being insulted and accused of not caring about your customers must’ve been devastating for him.
both that episode, and mr krabs willing to help spongebob relearn how to make patties are my favorite moments.
Squidward not giving a shit about his job besides pay standing up to him also makes it even better
Wasn't it recently discovered that in that one scene with Bubble Bass asking for guarantee, they had no idea what to do with Squidward and how to get him to leave the scene, so they had him thrown out of scene?
And it is one of the funniest throwing animations of all time
What made mermaid man and barnacle boy great was Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway were their voices. with both of them being in mchales navy I bet that's why it was such a good casting for them
Just realized it took over 15 years for SpongeBob to still try to get his license, but he can drive a rock perfectly 🤨
Sponge Bob made me think driving was rocket science. But he also taught me my work ethic. To have pride and integrity in what you do, even when it gets tough.

In my opinion, Bubble Bass is one of the best representations of the "nerdy critique" archetype (like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons or the two geeks from a later episode of Spongebob I won't spoil). The reason I say this is because shows usually do low-hanging fruit jokes and just mock the nerdy archetype, basically calling them losers the entire episode (like Powerpuff Girls did), whereas in this show, instead of mocking BubbleBass as a person, the show just mocks his underhandedness. It's sorta like a debate where a good debater will attack someone's argument instead of the person themselves. Sadly most shows don't emulate Spongebob in that regard.
It’s funny you say that because they literally just did an episode of “The Patrick Star Show” where Bubble Bass is a Nostalgia Critic-esque reviewer who lives in his mother’s basement and has an anime wallpaper on his computer. I’m not even joking.

I remember back when I was in Kindergarten I won some random raffle in school, I got to go to the front office to pick my gift and I chose a dvd of SpongeBob season 1. I’m not sure why exactly, but little me was obsessed with Home Sweet Pineapple, I would watch that episode on repeat so many times so now it holds a weird place in heart. Bubble Bass' order (it gets cut off in the video) was a;
"Double Triple Bossy Deluxe on a raft 4x4, Animal Style, Extra Shingles with the Shimmy and a Squeeze, Light Axle Grease, Make It Cry, Burn It, and Let It Swim."
So his order is basically;
Double Triple - Six Patties
Bossy - All Beef
Deluxe - With Everything (lettuce, onions, tomato, etc)
On a Raft - On Toast
4x4 - 4 patties by 4 cheeses, so (6x4) = 24 patties and 24 cheeses
Extra Shingles - Extra Toast
With a Shimmy - Jelly on Toast
And a Squeeze - With a side of orange juice
Light Axle Grease - With Butter
Make it Cry - Extra Onions
Burn It - Well Done
Let it Swim - With Extra sauce
And the fact Spongebob was able to have that order done just from hearing it, just shows his prowess and expertise as a legendary fry cook.
And since Squidward was the fry cook before Spongebob, he knew what that order meant which is why he said "We serve food here sir."

So the terms BubbleBass uses for his order are actual restaurant terms. He basically asked for a patty melt with 24 burger Patties cooked well done, cooked in mustard(animal style), with extra onions and sauce. Watch the Binging with Babsih episode about it to understand how ridiculous it really is
