Well, since the Brits have opened an embassy there and many other nations are going to end the embargo against them we will either get some control over their nuclear development or not. If you can't change something you might as well try to shape things as beneficially as possible rather then sitting in your corner sulking as others "control" the situation.

this was not a great platform for Santorum. It made him look so ill informed and he was really struggling to answer questions. Not like his campaign had any real chance but this appearance killed him. you could also see him being very irritated

I agree. The older I get the more slack I give politicians. They know where their bread is buttered, and there's not much they can do about it if they want to hold office. I don't like it, but that's just the way of reality.
I'm so amazed Santorum agreed to be on his show. When you put Rick up beside Maher though it makes him look a lot more respectable.

Even the prisons are run by private firms in USA, which are ultimately businesses aren't they?

We have had socialism for corporations for 40 years now. Bernie Sanders is democratic socialist in the way Franklin D Roosevelt was. And FDR was great for the country and so will Bernie Sanders be. His ideas are mainstream American ideas. Sanders is a straight shooter who is not for sale. The working class bailed out Wall Street, and it is now high time for Wall Street to bail out the working and middle class of this country. For 40 years, Sanders has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life of the average American, and when in office, we know that we have a man that will work for us. That is why Bernie Sanders is the best man for 2016.

It's not the people who are running the country you are negotiating with, it's the people who live in that country, because you are actually giving them a chance to live better lives. By living better lives they will not have hate against the US. They can have better lifestyles, less psychological issues, and more opportunity to understand to go against their own government next. Give the people a chance to fight against their governments, in peaceful ways, actually, by slowly removing themselves from extremism. You are causing extremism by alienating these people.
Santorum had an easy time, which leads me to believe that Maher felt a bit sorry for him. I think I would be the same. Us liberals can be too nice, whereas Republicans are known to go straight for the jugular.
The term 'shooting fish in a barrel' springs to my mind. Santorum could have been torn apart for many comments he has made, such as his assertion that 'college is for snobs' and his views on The Crusades, along with his policy ideas (e.g. abortion and same sex marriage) which rely heavily on The Bible. Far too easy.
Maybe he prefers a challenge (I know I do), and facing someone in the same league as Sarah Palin (mental faculties that are wanting) is just way too easy.
