      +Chris Thompson But they are they can't disagree with what is written in the party platform! Preserving and Protecting Traditional Marriage
      The institution of marriage is the foundation of civil society. Its
      success as an institution will determine our success as a nation. It has
      been proven by both experience and endless social science studies that
      traditional marriage is best for children. Children raised in intact
      married families are more likely to attend college, are physically and
      emotionally healthier, are less likely to use drugs or alcohol, engage
      in crime, or get pregnant outside of marriage. The success of marriage
      directly impacts the economic well-being of individuals. Furthermore,
      the future of marriage affects freedom. The lack of family formation not
      only leads to more government costs, but also to more government
      control over the lives of its citizens in all aspects. We recognize and
      honor the courageous efforts of those who bear the many burdens of
      parenting alone, even as we believe that marriage, the union of one man
      and one woman must be upheld as the national standard, a goal to stand
      for, encourage, and promote through laws governing marriage. We embrace
      the principle that all Americans should be treated with respect and
      dignity.

      +Pete Ivey fuck clinton's donors. the closest thing you guys have to a presidential candidate is bernie sanders. because he is a socialist we know he won't get in. the next 10 years will be shitty for you guys either way. bernie and trump wants to spend spend spend cruz wants to carpet bomb the middle east and put up sandals resorts on the bones of our foes, and i'm not even recognizing hilary as a person not because she is a female but because i believe she is a robot programed by the largest donor. atleast if bernie spends you know it's coming out of the pockets of wall street.... in the 1950's corporate taxes reached about 50% and thats no where near the highest tax margin they have had to pay. so why is corporate america now only paying a marginal 24-15% tax rate rate. that means the country is getting half of what we used to from corporate america. the government's number 1 commodity is their workers. it's time to start squeezing the money owed to the system back out of the "patriots" that move thousands of jobs overseas all in the interest of increasing profit margins that are already high due to the extremely low tax margins for the extremely rich. from 1951-1964 the top tax rate was over 50% for a top tax bracket of 25,000$. today the top tax rate is 39.1% for the top tax bracket of 18.333 million. which comparred to the 100's of billions given to wall street employee's and "bonuses" or bankrupt companies buying planes with our money...... sorry you had to be the rant of the day

    It would appear the "Attorney" couldn't grasp the concept that if "dual Citizenship" wasn't allowed when Mr. Cruz was born, and his mother was a Canadian Citizen (evidenced by her Canadian voting status), she would have GIVEN UP her American Citizenship to become a "voting" Canadian Citizen. My wife's dad was born in NY. When he was a few years old, his parents moved back to Italy where my wife (his daughter) was born years later. The INS says she's NOT a US citizen. Pleas tell me what's the difference???

    • @tysonbarnes-garcia2154
      @tysonbarnes-garcia2154 Před 8 lety +2

      +Pappa Bob She is not a citizen ( depending when she was born and that matters but in general) because he did not live in the US for enough years after is 14th birthday. Cruz very well might be a citizen the point is he is not a natural born citizen and there is a difference.

    • @pappabob29
      @pappabob29 Před 8 lety +3

      +Tyson Barnes-Garcia Yes, a huge difference since the Constitution requires a President to be "a natural born" citizen. Where can I find the rulings on the "required residence after his 14th birthday"??

    • @tysonbarnes-garcia2154
      @tysonbarnes-garcia2154 Před 8 lety +6

      +Pappa Bob The law that people are citing to for that is the INA and you can look in chapter 3 sections 301 and 309 to be specific. That is why I said it depends on when she was born because the law was first passed in 1952 i think but has been amended a bunch and it depends on what law was in effect when she was born as to the number of years. You can read more here which is probably more accurate than me at nearly 3 am with a few drinks. www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartH-Chapter3.html

    The lady votes for the elected officials in 2 countries? WTF?!?!?! There should be time requirements (required to stay in the country for x amount of months... greater than 6) to vote in any country. If you live abroad but are an American citizen, yes you pay double taxes... but If you live in America and are a UK citizen, as far as I know, you do not have to pay extra taxes in the UK. That lady has a terrible lack of morals if she is actually voting for officials in 2 counries.

      ***** Umm... you seem to be misunderstanding something. She says she is voting in 2 different countries, the US and UK... NOT 2 different states. Voting in 2 different states is 110% illegal for reasons you, for some reason, don't understand... but I'll try to explain it to you.
      Every US citizen legally gets one vote. If you vote for federal representatives in one state, and then vote for federal representatives in another which you do not reside in, other than being VERY illegal, that is granting you a potential additional vote. If people were able to vote in 2 states for, lets say President, there would be a BUNCH of people voting in their resident state, then running to swing states like Florida. Even in local elections, every vote counts... but local elections do not effect you as much if you do not reside in that specific area.
      Voting in 2 states is already illegal. If I have this wrong, I will place my foot in my mouth... but this isn't the issue at hand in the first place. The issue at hand is the question of voting in 2 completely different countries. I do not know if that is illegal, but it is certainly immoral in my books and should be unethical as well.

    • @cblev303
      @cblev303 Před 8 lety +1

      +Aerostyle I am not familiar with Canadian or international law, but I know that it is illegal to vote in two different states in the United States. Federal Law requires a person to have the intent to live in the state for a certain amount of time before they can vote in that state. If they are not intending to stay in that state, they can only vote in the state they are domiciled, i.e., intending to live in. I assume that Canadian law works in a similar way. Therefore, what that annoying lady did on the show was clearly illegal, and she is an idiot for saying that on the show. Hopefully, the statute of limitations is not up on that and they throw her ass in jail.

    Just a clarification on Ted Cruz. You cannot vote in a Canadian election if you are not Canadian. Having said that Canada does NOT demand that you renounce your citizenship in another country to be a Canadian citizen. The only issue would be if the other country demands that you drop their citizenship to vote in the other country's election. If the US doesn't make that demand on that person then the citizenship holds for both countries. I really think the whole issue is bullshit Cruz is American for all reasonable demands

      Possibly or you're just sensible enough not to jump on a Liberal birther bandwagon. Sure its sweet revenge for the shit Obama with through and far easier as Cruz was born in Canada. Still most of us are not Constitutional scholars let alone lawyers so you rightly just think ones with such qualifications regardless of politics would have more insight into citizenship than random YT anons wanting to be pandered to. The structure of being a dual citizen of Canada and America in 1970 was different, and it's a known fact that Cruz was not born on US soil. She tried to compare it to Donald Trump and his mother who was a foreigner, however Trump WAS born on US soil, so that's a false equivalency.

    Good luck adapting to Climate Change when A) your fresh water sources are depleted due to drought, or are contaminated by salt water due to sea level rise, which means B) you can't grow crops, which means C) you can't feed livestock, which means D) you can't feed humans.
    Just imagine the level of chaos that will occur from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of people that are desperate and starving.

    For persons born between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true:
    - The person's parents were married at the time of birth- One of the person's parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born- The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the United States before the child's birth;- A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.
    For persons born out of wedlock, the person is a U.S. citizen if all the following apply:
    - the mother was a U.S. citizen at the time of the person's birth and- the mother was physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year prior to the person's birth.

    Alan Grayson is wrong here. Ted Cruz's mother hadn't lived in Canada long enough to gain Canadian citizenship when Ted Cruz was born, so she couldn't have been a Canadian citizen in 1970. Also, Barack Obama's mother was too young to confer US citizenship which is why where he was born matters.

      +saar144 No, its not. You have to be a natural born citizen, with emphasis on the words 'natural born'. It's widely known that Ted Cruz was born in Canada, and he's using the argument that because his mother may have been a citizen that he should also be a citizen, but that still would not solve the problem of not being born within US territory. Trump is probably going to get the nomination anyway so we most likely won't have to worry about this.
