I find that submerging the minis in hot water is a better way for me to remove the supports. This is what I have done with the 10mm S.W. Figures I bought off you at SELWG. I do love those minis by the way!
Great tip! I think that’s got to be a better way to go with the supports that are a frame around the minis Vs the ones that do direct to the minis base. I should do Another vid on the sci fi stuff and include this. Cheers and glad you’re happy with them
I did wood elves early on and if your going with the spring/summer greens then contrast would be the way for me. For autum/winter I think a colour primer of brown/blue would save a lot of time
super fine. Especially the skeleton unit was quite impressive after just a short time. I cannot wait until you paint maybe some rok-stuff for epic scifi. Recently I have bought the new valejo range for their constrast paints. I am curious how they work. I have tried their contrast black on a 28mm minotaur and its looks very well so far.
@@rokminis59 I am not sure if I am competent enough to give an opinion about the series. I bought the complete range, but tried only 5 or 6 of them. I always thought that of the 3 lines from Army Painter, GW and now Valejo there are good colors and not so good ones. For example I like the red and the brown from army painter speed paint and I like the white from contrast. The goblin green contrast from Valejo I like best from all 5 colors I tried yet, but the dark green I find not very good. But contrary to you I am only a medium skilled painter, so my opinion is not worth much I guess.
Everyone’s opinion is worthy! As a developing painter, you are probably the target group for GW/AP over Vallejo, so your opinion there is very valuable! I’ll def grab some to test them out
This was exactly the video I was searching for! What way would you go for those despoilers you've printed? contrast paint or drybrush? Also you mentioned that you've used a flexible resin, I would like to know wich one is. Thanks for the video, I didn't knew about this contrast paint tecnique.
4:26 That's wrong. They are supports, mini supports to be exact. Those don't have a narrow connection point. I mean, you can leave them there for sure, but they are indeed supports. Look at the pictures of the designer. Woudln't make much sense to have small little steel beams holding up the container, when it already supports itself by sitting on the roof, don't you think? ;)
@@rokminis59 It's already a done deal, it's just a matter of when. And choosing which army to oppose the mighty skelebobs. Not a deal breaker for my purchase, but are any more armies likely to make an appearance?

The drybrush technique with metal on the grave guard is brillant.
Thanks man. I cannot say enough good stuff about Vallejo model air silver range
Im gonna have to figure out how to paint these wood elves but soon

Yes I must do some of the 6mm stuff to show the scale difference!
I really want to get the Vallejo ones to try out!

I use Resione brand resin. I dry brushed mine in the same way as the undead then did the cloaks and any flesh afterwards
@@rokminis59 I dry brushed mine with red. They came out cool but I was thinking about trying some contrast paint like you showed in the video.
They work great. Most of the brands that make this type paints are pretty good for it

Thanks. Yeah it wasn’t super clear so I left them but they fit just fine as steel support pipes to hold up the rickety containers
I saw you use the resione brand resin, would you mind sharing which resin exactly?
M58. It’s expensive but worth it for the quality
@@rokminis59 Thanks a lot, man!
No worries. If you want details on settings etc hit me up on social media
Sorely, SORELY tempted to pick up a starter set from your website. It's going to happen, isn't it?
I don’t want to influence you either way 😉

This week I’ll be adding ‘Arabian Warriors’ and then in Dec it will be ‘Egyptian Undead’ if that helps?
@@rokminis59 Nice! If Dwarves make an appearance in the future too, that's an insta-buy!
Approx April next year if the sculptor schedule sticks 🤞🏻
