    For £20 you get more than enough buildings that if you had bought GW kits would have set you back closer to £100 - you do the maths and see what your pockets can achieve.

      Exactly! This type of terrain is another tool in the box to get the table you want for the price you can manage. Its just very undervalued due to being ‘boring’ but to me it really isn’t! I like the flexibility it offers

    Fantastic! Great job showing us the upgrading tips! I also appreciate the amount of time you took to get different shots and edits! keep up the great work!

      Thanks dude! Glad it was helpful and yep, trying to vary it up and keep it fresh!

    I use pva with tile grout over it. Once dry use a brush to remove excess. Leave nice wall texture. Once undercoated, it’s sealed and ready to paint.

      Tile grout is an amazing material for that. It’s so tough and the texture from it is ideal. A few times I’ve really cheated and dyed the grout the right colour with concrete dye and dodged the painting all together!

    Great tips.
    I think the MDF stuff is great for the price. Would love to see more videos going through the painting process too

      Painting will be done this weekend! Yeah they’re just a brilliant balance of cost, look and speed.

    I sprayed mine before watching this video and now I want to go back and texture it lol.

      To be honest it’s not a must. With some extra weathering steps and added details here and there it won’t be a big loss really

    Cracking work! Love the detailing!

    Looks great and a good first video. Looking forward to the painting. MDF stuff needs some work but this bit of effort makes all the difference.

      Thanks Andy! Yeah recording the painting steps this weekend. A little extra jazz goes a long way!

    This looks great, I normally steer away from MDF kits as I think they look a bit crappy and box-y imo but this makes them look so much better!

      Thanks dude. Yeah I think it’s all about seeing these as a jumping off point for your builds and not being ‘all in’

    Nice work mate! Im all in for some MDF and totally agree it needs a lot of work to not look like a plain box which you see on a lot of battlefields. Combined with some 3D bits or those invaluable leftovers really makes a huge difference. Ive added in things like fruit mesh bags like lemons come in to act as window screens/mesh, and mini printed propaganda posters for added grim dark!

    • @rokminis59
      @rokminis59  Před 2 lety +1

      Ooooo that mesh is a good shout. Stolen!! Yeah just a bit more oomph and they jump from box to building!

    Great tutorial. Not sure you can actually recycle MDF as it's full of (epoxy?) binders.

    • @rokminis59
      @rokminis59  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I’ve seen it go in the containers at my recycling centre without issue but this may be something that varies regionally. Not Sure to be honest

      @@rokminis59 Might get pulled out at the other end and sent off to one of those waste to energy furnace operations?

    Looks like your video doesnt show the dry brush process and colors chosen. Do you plan on doing a follow up sir?

    • @rokminis59
      @rokminis59  Před 2 lety

      There is a second video on painting that I did. Most of the work was done with oil shading rather than drybrush highlights. It should be the next video released after this one

    Cant find this stuff anywhere in Canada

      Really? I get mine from TTCombat and I’m sure that they ship globally and they used to have a good free postage package if you ordered a few kits

  • @ralfsstuff
    @ralfsstuff Před rokem +1

    Would these hold up without using glue? I kinda want these to be portable sub assemblies.

    • @rokminis59
      @rokminis59  Před rokem +1

      Some of the kits kits rely on a lot together and would be fine but the more complicated or decorative parts would need it to last through gaming. Just PVA will do get trick though

    • @ralfsstuff
      @ralfsstuff Před rokem +1

      @@rokminis59 Thanks for the fast reply. Guess I'll just buy the broken domicilium kit and try for myself. Worst case scenario I'll have a less portable, yet sturdy piece of terrain^^.
      Nice job on the video btw. Just finished watching.

    • @rokminis59
      @rokminis59  Před rokem +1

      Thanks man. Yeah it’s always a bit of a trade of. If you keep the corners as single pieces and maybe leave the support legs detached, they may all sit inside one another for easy storage

    Mdf recycling is not economically feasible.
