If your scooter is throwing a 7 beep code, it means that the potentiometer could be bad. There are 2 potentiometers. The speed control knob and the throttle control (usually a paddle system). In this video we're showing you how to test a speed control knob which is pretty easy. You just need a multimeter that is set to measure resistance in OHM's. You can test the 2 outside wires with the multi meter probes and when you rotate the knob you should see the resistance go up and down smoothly. When the knob reaches the highest speed, you should see a reading of zero.

Cheers for this. My scooter is stuck on the highest setting but when I test the speed pot with the multimeter it reads near 100 when applying to the 2 outer wires with no gradual resistance when turning the knob but will move gradually between 0 -100 when connecting the multimeter to the middle wire with either outer wire. Could this be a controller issue?

It is most likely the case. You can reach out to the dealership where you got the scooter from for assistance or if you got it from us, you can reach us at (888) 263-5601.

It depends, have you any tech experience with low voltage repairs or parts replacement?

You follow along with the video, and you should see an even range of resistance on each side of the mid-point.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Connect what to the speed control lever with a direct link?
