I have a cobra gt4. I replaced batteries, they charge to 27.3 volts, replaced control box, brushes in motor, hand forward and reverse assembly. Brake and motor ohms out good. and it goes fast for about a 1/4 mile slows down and starts beeping with no flasing lights. and will shortly after that stop. PLEASE HELP. THANKS.
HOW DO YOU TEST A PAT.1271644 POTENTIOMETER. iT HAS THE POTENTIOMETER THREE LEADS AND A 24V INPUT. SHOULD IT READ OHMS AND VOLTAGE OR DO YOU NEED TO APPLY 24V AND THEN READ THE VOTAGE RATHER THAN THE OHMS.
Jeffery x you can use the 50k pot and solder a 20k resistor across the outside leads, or you can use a 20k pot and open it and scrape an ever so thin we're talking you just let the weight of a razor blade do the work Linda thin, layer off of the carbon track inside... test it you will not have scraped nearly enough off... do it again and re-test... keep repeating until you reach 30k-ish... if you way overshot by say 5k or more, just add an appropriate resistor. If the potentiometer is going to the pin out of a digital controls interface that has a logic IC in it, you can likely just use any pot, like literally almost any value would work, but on analog circuits you'll need to be somewhat close to the value your circuit calls for. Seriously though pots are $0.99 on eBay from China and like $5 at RadioShack, Fry's Electronics, Home Depot, Ace, Lowe's, Walmart, etc... but if you're in a pinch here are some instructional videos on how to do the pot hacks I mentioned above.
