- Nintendo Switch 2 probably exists. Because of that, I probably had to make this video. So I did. I sure hope they make a new Mario, that would be cool.
I bet every leak is legit, and every rumor is true. So let’s just go through all of it. Or two of them.
I don’t know. Just let me talk about the video game stuff.

You are the first person I’ve heard that mentions the differences between the Iwata leadership and the current one and how that will affect what hardware is produced.
My main criticism for thinking the console would release in 2024, especially EARLY 2024, is that they historically have announced such things long before they even have a final design, much less an official name. Project Reality/Ultra 64 was well known before the actual N64 was finally announced. Same with Dolphin, Revolution, Café, and NX for the GameCube, Wii, Wii U, and Switch respectively.
I have no doubt they'll announce something before the end of next year, but I think 2025 is the earliest we'll actually get the product.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio3DS leak to annulment to on store shelves was pretty quick tho...
Also you mentioned the Wii U. Remember in 2010 they said they wouldn't announce thier next console until they ran out of ideas for Wii...they revealed Wii U summer 2011 and it was in stores fall 2012.
yes i dont get why people think nintendo is a stagnant company with the same thinking yet somehow is innovation at the same time. Also people have several misconceptions about nintendo when their history says otherwise. It's clear nintendo will be a bit more conservative this time around however that doesnt mean they wont innovate just no need to introduce gimmicks or whatnot work with what u have and expand and not abandon something that is proven to work
This just in: the Nintendo Switch 2 has enough electricity in it to kill a small child
That's any electronic device if you had to go out in one big burst.. your phone can
What about a large child?
Just the one? Weak ahh console PC MASTER RACE!!1!
What about a taller than average child?

Thanks for apologizing. I forgive you.
It's such a fucking banger
You know it's fake when there's a new F-Zero.
Sadly true.
I'm like 90% sure it won't even be "Mario Kart 9" because technically the mobile Mario Kart already is the 9th installment of the series. I can totally see them announcing Mario Kart 10 instead with the logo having the 10 in the middle like MAR10KART. It's such an easy lay-up and none of the "leakers" are guessing it.
Also home circuit
I remember Nintendo stating that they start thinking about their next console right after their current one releases so it's not surprising that the next one exists especially after 6 years
Estoy bastante seguro de que nintendo no se pondria a diseñar nada hasta que la nano tecnologia llegara a los 5mm de manera barata.
Es decir , hace 3 años.
The Switch 2 needs a few things to succeed.
1) Enough of a graphics boost to justify buying a new system.
2) Unique titles that aren't just Switch games with a DLC and a graphics boost.
3) Backwards capability for, not all, but most of their major titles.
Also a performance boost would mean that competitive multiplayer games wouldn't be garbage compared to the other systems, so Nintendo would hopefully revamp their voice chat and online service.
It _really_ needs thumbsticks that can actually stand up to being used.
If they do backwards compatibility with the Switch, there's little reason to only do it for "most."
I'm past graphics at this point. I'm sick of the demand for things to just keep adding polygons and particle effects. It's superficial glitz. I want better performance for render distance, load times, and maintaining framerate.
The Switch proved that it doesn't need working controllers to succeed. Or will people be weary this time like me?
I think the fact that CoD has been confirmed for future switch consoles will bring A LOT of casual gamers to the new model. With the proper graphics boost it’ll be the perfect entry level hybrid console for most.
@@Galaxia53 No, it proved it doesn't need long lasting controlles to succeed. The joycons work fine.
I wonder if Metroid Prime 4 will be a dual-system launch title like Zelda Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild.
I hope the successor to the Switch is backwards compatible...
I predict, assuming that a new 3D Mario is launching with the system as many have predicted, that it'll be a cross-platform launch title, whereas Prime 4 will release soon after as the big Switch 2 exclusive.
@@ironicdivinemandatestan4262i think it would viceversa, mp4 was promised for switch
or would it be vice reversa
@@Elchinodawn There have been plenty of Nintendo games that were developed on one system then moved to another. (Kirby Air Ride, Luigi's Mansion, Super Paper Mario, etc.) With how much of a boost in power the Switch 2 is reportedly going to provide, I wouldn't be surprised if Retro decided that it would be better to develop Prime 4 exclusively for Switch 2 rather than forcing it to run on Switch.
Switch media isn't by any means ancient, which makes the switch 2 perfect for backwards compatibility, maybie the new carts will have a little bump like the 3ds. Metroid is a great launch title for a new switch to prove its graphical chops while some compilation titles of older games could fill out the system, like for example a pikmin 1-3 pack, a zelda double release with the 3d games, or a gen4 remake + gen 8 pokemon double pack.
We can't OVER estimate or UNDER estimate Nintendo.
It could be something wild like Virtual Boy 2.
nintendo on
I would much rather they innovate the market once more and give us a Nintendo frisbee
Me here still waiting for the Nintendo On: 🧓🏽👴🏽⏳☠️👻
I also agree with this statement
They kinda did that with the iQue. :D
Arms selling 2.7 million is fantastic. To put that in perspective that's more then bayonetta, xenoblade, most fire emblem games, most metroid games. It's the 30th best fighting game of all time. To say arms sold poorly isn't really true. It's not an impossibility for there to be an arms sequel.
It probably wouldn't be a launch title though.
3:30 Unless the switch 2 has a 120hz screen I don’t think it’ll have DLSS3, as you need a base frame rate of 60 before frame gen otherwise the latency penalty is really bad and noticeable.
What about docked?
@@accountrandomnumber182huh?
I’m happy if they decide to just make “mainline” Nintendo games backward compatible. I think that’s the right move.
I think it will be big third parties like your capcoms or your segas and some indie studios as well.
If the switch 2 doesn’t have full backwards compatibility with no strings attached, I’m not buying it
I’m no expert on the hardware side, but maybe nvidia’s making the switch 2 chips similar enough to the x1 for switch 1 games to work
@@jacke_RSThey can always run emulation as well. Having a beefier system should allow that without major issue.

I really appreciate this video. I've been seeing these articles whenever I open a new tab, and ignoring their claims myself wasn't enough
I'm pretty sure that they're gonna include backwards compatibility with this, Nintendo is usually good about this with the exceptions being when they completely changed the medium of the game to a wholly incompatible model. Like yeah obviously the Gamecube wasn't gonna be backwards compatible with the N64, but the Wii was with the Gamecube and the WiiU with the Wii. The 3DS could play DS which could play GBA which could play GB, etc.
So yeah while the switch wasn't backwards compatible it was because they completely changed things up again and WiiU discs literally were bigger than the console. But if the next console is basically a Switch 2, I have a feeling they're gonna use the same style of cartridge system and in turn probably include backwards compatibility. And I mean I feel like they'd be insane not to. They'd be able to market the Switch 2 as having a massive library of great switch games that you could play day 1 with improved resolutions and framerates.
considering the revamp of the digital shop for switch versus the wii u, it seems very likely the super switch would be backwards compatible with the switch and use the same digital shop.
I find MVG's kvetching about the Tegra X1 chip being difficult to replicate in a next-gen system to be just that: kvetching.
Nothing is stopping Nvidia from designing a customized chip or wrapper that would allow backwards compatibility to be easily implemented. And like with the rumored specs improving their DLSS support from 2 to 3.1/3.5 based on different sources, several features were likely added or dropped between now and when MVG put out his video.
With how long the Switch has been on the market and how proportionally few can still be made given the chips they have, it's so obvious it's self evident that in 2024 or at the latest 2025 a new console will come out. The real question is is the Switch a success for having 50% more sales then the WiiU + 3DS, or a failure for selling half of the Wii + DS?
I don't think it's fair to compare it to the combined sales of the DS and wii and call it a failure. There's just no way it was going to sell 100 million more units than the next best selling game console ever no matter how optimistic of its sales potential you had for it.
It’s definitely a success because it has a really high attach for software, switch titles sell extremely extremely well
@@jammer9941 I think it's completely fair to compare it to what came before that it is being sold in place of.
@@nitinanku 3DS titles did too

I think nintendo will be fine, the mario movie made 1billion dollars and mario wonder and totk are really succsesful, if they launch with a mk9 or 3d mario and allow people to play their old library I think the switch 2 will do well.Nintendo 100 percent is gonna go for the safest option in this situation to not lose that many people.
I personally dont see Nintendo making a handheld as powerful as a ps5 i could see Nintendo consoles close to a ps4 spects or close to a 1660 gpu.
DLSS 3 is technically now available on all RTX GPUs with 3.5. When 3 launched all it really added was frame generation which uses hardware not on older GPUs, but 3.5 added features that are available for all RTX GPUs.
No it's not. That's not even remotely correct. Only 4000 can use frame gen.
@@thelunchbox420x I clearly stated that myself. 3.5 is on all RTX GPUs regardless of if they can use framegen, it adds more features than just framegen now.
A good question to consider is even though the rumored chip for the Switch 2 doesn't traditionally support Frame Gen (or at least isn't expected to), I wonder if they have a customized version that does have Frame Gen included.
I mean nothing's stopping them from using emulation if the hardware's strong enough to ensure backwards compatibility but yeah alternatively they could just do what microsoft does and patch a select few backwards compatible games. Nintendo might be allergic to the e-word but that didn't stop them from using emulators for their eshop and various classic re-releases.
a year ago i had a dream where nintendo announced a port of mario kart 8 deluxe to the switch. like... the same game on the same console, and in the trailer they only showed off a single new track
Almost right, they actually doubled to courses and added like, 4 characters who aren't funky kong
Nintendo will only vaguely consider a new F-Zero if a new Wipeout and Jet-Moto release and at least 90% of the human population buys a copy of both.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch 2 is just as powerful as the Xbox Series S, especially since it would be launching 4 years after, the power needed to play modern titles should exist in the small form the Switch 2 would need by then
Well though I feel by the time that happen the new playstation and xbox whatever will be out leaving that new nintendo console behind.
that ' mario kart 9 ' logo straight up looks like I could make that on microsoft word art
That leaker's uncle works at nintendo, duh. He already has a Switch 2 but you can't play it or he'll get in trouble cuz it's secret
This century, Nintendo went from GameCube, 3rd in it's generation, to Wii, 1rst, to WiiU, 3rd again, to Switch, 1st again. If I where to make an asumption, I would say Nintendo is going to be relegated to last place once more.
This is going to be a Switch OLED 2.0 with slightly better screen, slightly better stand and Luigi green option
yoshi switch only.
I wonder if in the current landscape, where GameStop and used games are a much smaller market, is there still the same risk of consumers trading in their old console for a new one instead of just buying the new one.
First video games new/discussion/whatever video that actually brought up Iwata and Reggie no longer being at Nintendo. Yay!
1:36 Then explain all the ninetdno consoles not made under Iwata? The N64's gimich was a n control stick and being better at 3D then a PC the NES's gimmick was bringing the Arcade home... The Cgamecube it was a tiny cube with power inside.
The “9” in that Mario Lart logo looks like it belongs on an NES cover art, like Ice Climber, lol.
Congrats on 100k
what I get from this video is nintendo really need a "meme" game like Fall guys, Among us, or Fortnite, or something like what the original pokemon was, a game that becomes a phenomenon.
Congrats on 100K cat man
They better do the 32DS and make it backwards compatible with the switch AND DS games. And they can add a disc drive to put in wii discs and gamecub4 games.
baseeeeeeeeed
How would that work? The switch cartridges are too tiny.
There won't be a "Mario Kart 9". Look at the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe trailers. Nintendo counts Tour as a mainline Mario Kart. That means the next Mario Kart will be Mario Kart 10.
Maybe they will go for something like "Mario Kart X" or "Mario Party Cross(roads)" and be a crossover or something.
love your intro like Space Ghost Coast to Coast
I honestly doubt that Nintendo will release a new console anytime soon but if they do, I hope they bring back some charm the older consoles like GameCube or Wii had, make everything less flat, add menu music, make stuff more customizable
Mario wonder, rpg, princess peach and luigi mansion are all coming out before the switch 2 lol.
Yeah, I'd like them to bring back some personality to the interface and presentation. The Switch feels very basic in that regard compared to _any_ previous Nintendo system.
@@Saz103 maybe they want it to go out with a bang
Not that I believe that Mario Kart 9 logo at all, but I think they're trying to callback to early NES title screen designs. As for what they're trying to imply with that, I couldn't tell you.
appeal to millennials who grew up with NES.
@@ian.swift.31614 Dont forget the Gen X
I don't wanna sound like an ass, but my expectations are very grounded for the next console. Nintendo isn't exactly known for stellar hardware performance and I don't think that'll change any time soon, realistically
Okay u gotta tell me where u are getting these banging intro and outro music from
I'm thinking the Switch 2 will be on par with an Xbox Series S at best and a base PS4 at worse. And I don't think Nintendo would have to add Tegra X1 chips into the Switch 2 to make it backwards compatible. Considering the new console will be using ARM, just like the current Switch. Even if not every game is backwards compatible day 1, it's already been proven that emulating these games on newer hardware is not a difficult task if Nintendo has to go down that route for whatever reason. They could also use the same type of cartridges as the Switch so that even physical copies will still work. I can also see Nintendo Switch Online's backlog of classic games also being carried over, with libraries from the GameCube or Nintendo DS also being added.
1:27 My language prescriptivist ass when i hear mfs saying Iwata's name like he's the newest apple product
Yo, what song do you use as your intro? It goes hard and i wanna add it to my playlist.
Ever since all the smash ultimate rumors, I’ve placed little stock in “leaks”
Quite honestly, I've bought games in the hooe that Nintendo would release new hardware to play it better. Doom Eternal, for instance, ever since it came out I've thought it need to get rescued by new Switch Hardware. MK 11 too actually lol
woah he's gonna hit 100k subs any second (currently says 99.9k) congrats!
Dlss 3 is not frame Generation btw. Frame Generation is part of it, but the upscaler alone is also dlss3
i’m not getting excited, maybe i’ve just grown out of games but i haven’t turned my switch on in at least a year i don’t even know if it works anymore. great video tho
Honestly, the switch found a good niche as a portable/console. If they keep iterating on that in sequels, that's fine with me. I just hope it's backwards compatible with switch games and can run them better.
One last sales push around Christmas, than most likely a February-ish switch reveal.
As somebody who bought a Nintendo Switch on christmas 2022, the Switch 2 thing upsets me.
Like, I just bought it and don't have a lot of games for it, give me a break.
I feel you m8 but think it like this, switch first releases was crap screen, battery and in General Nintendo tends doing this tactic with all of its handheld consoles
GBA had bad screen first model and then fixed, DS was bulky + bad screen > then fixed, switch same story. I would honestly skip the first switch 2 model and wait for the definetive one
I’d pay money for a sound bite of the intro song I could turn into a ringtone.
i would love nintendo to release 2 separate consoles that run the same software and games. one is a home console with better hardware, and another is a hybrid with hardware capable of being portable
The downside to remember is how poorly 3DS games relased after the Switch sold. We're never getting a new Mario and Luigi because of that.
Imagine PS4, but with RT above what this gen has.(Portable)
I'm guessing the visuals docked is close to PS4 pro also with even better quality RT.
Never heard of "Aiwatta"
Nice intro bro
Please be backwards compatible, please be backwards compatible, fingers crossed.
That 9 screams MegaMan
I'm glad I'm on the same page of this issue of the gaming world....
The ray-tracing makes it hard to believe. It's not that I don't wanna believe it, but to get at the very least acceptable fps with RT turned on and DLSS off you currently need a premium GPU that costs at least $500 or more.
DLSS is more believable, but it's mostly useful at upscaling 1440p and 4K, looks like fucking shit at 1080p which I assume is Nintendo's target resolution when docked.
My prediction is that switch 1 games will run exactly the same as they did on switch for free, maybe even the same as an overclocked switch. I don't expect Nintendo to lift a finger for free though, so any major FPS bumps and DLSS integration will probably have a fee attached to it.
and good to know your on team edge!
lets all be honest, all they need to do is have a new Mario kart to push out and watch money roll in
If 1-2-Switch! got a sequel anything can right?
Will it be the Wii U to the Wii? Or the SNES to the NES? My money currently is on the later
Or it could be a N64/Wii something completely out of left field.
Considering how well the Switch has been selling since its launch and that it seems the new system is probably just going to be like the Switch but more powerful, I can't imagine a situation similar to jump from the Super NES to the N64 or Wii to WiiU. I think this could be similar to the jump from the original GameBoy and GB Color to the GB Advance, in which it was their most successful console and its successor was just a better version (and while the GBA didn't reach the original GB numbers that's because Nintendo discontinued it earlier in favor of the NDS)
In both cases the successor console sold worse, which might not bode well for them
Probably existing, my favourite type of existing!
from what I understand there are a limited amount of Tegra X1 chips remaining, they aren't being manufactured anymore. I wonder if it would make sense to use this remaining supply for backwards compatibility in the first model of the Switch successor, similar to the original DS and DS Lite, or the launch model of PS3, and then lose the hardware backwards compatibility in future models when it becomes less relevant + they run out of that chip
I fuckin love the intro
I have yet to figure out a good reason to buy the first one. I dont see that changing with the second one.
I can't wait to finally be able to play games in 1080p! How will the world handle this!?!?!
Im convinced they were convinced to release the switch 2 soon by the prime 4 devs not being able to or wanting to make prime 4 run on the switch
Did you not see the showcase? The switch 2 was chosen off in china on stage in January
I just want Nintendo to fix their drifting joy cons PLEASE
They actually recently filed a patent for a new kind of stick that uses magnetorheological fluid (a fluid that changes viscosity in the presence of a magnetic field) to not only solve the drift issue, but to also essentially have force feedback on an analog stick.
@@ironicdivinemandatestan4262 They traveled to the fourth dimension in order to fix it? Sounds good
10:56 that's only because he doesn't know what that is. The second I pulled out and started playing on my Odin Ayn my much younger siblings took an interest. When I was a kid, all I needed was to see a PSP in action to want one. Only Autistic children will cling to Nintendo products and never consider anything else.
Switch lifespan until 2027, huh? Guess I'll keep mine in case of Nintendo shutting down an eShop on this platform and other cool big brain stuff.
Shoot, I just got my Nintendo Switch this XMAS
actually serebii confirmed recently that it's called the switch U (source: my uncle is nintendo)
it could be dlss to the upscaled to series s quality what's possibly means the PS4 would even outperform the Nintendo switch 2
The idea of selling a Switch 2 that can't run Switch 1 games is insane to me. Especially if the new console is in the same ballpark as a PS5 in terms of specs; that would mean a huge jump in performance. It would make far more sense for Nintendo to develop an emulator that will seamlessly run Switch 1 games on the new hardware - these Switch 1 games are comparable to iPhone games from like 7 years ago, so even if really inefficient, the new consoles should have enough overhead to emulate such low-spec games. I'm not saying they will do this, but to not do it would majorly suck.
I am actually really excited for the potential switch 2, i've recently gotten back into a lot of the old nintendo games on my DS and kind of want to play the newer pokemon games since 5th gen is the last ive been able to play.
But, i am not gonna shill out 300 dollars for a device that was several years outdated by the time it first released, let go now. The new pokemon games run like garbage for no reason whatsoever and just need better hardware and optimisation, that means switch 2 or pro
I knew this was coming up, I KNEW IT!!!!
LEEK: Probable existence REVEALED!
Honestly, I do not see myself buying the switch 2 any soon. I have a switch but it's not my primary console, as it is with a lot of people.
Remember guys, Switch is a Success, they,ve generated Millions if not Billions of profit, what would the best way to invest those back if it's not for hardware upgrades and the opportunities to lure more 3rd parties to Nintendo? They not able to do this with previous console due to financial restrictions and they are operating on diff markets, but they realised they already own that market and the only way forward is to explore by having competitive hardware, they have the sources, the loyal fans, the RND and what's important they have the trust from devs, so why not take this chance at all, if Nintendo can be the king of console why settle for handheld and cozy games only.and microsoft agrees partnership for a reason.i guess that why I feel they might surprise us.think abt it, they have Activision Bliizzard, Platinum, Atlus, Square Enix, Capcom, and multiple big studios that willing to reworked the game for Nintendo Releases, imagine if Nintendo could have the same ports launched as Sony PS5 and Xbox X on day one, but just in smaller size in cartridges, studios will flocks to them, and the product will sold out in opening week I think
Dude. The Switch runs on a mobile ARM SOC. Any sort of Switch 2, will run on some other nvidia ARM SOC. Backwards compatibility is not even in question, it's 100% the same platform (ARM11 with OpenGL/Vulkan) and 95% the same hardware.
This isn't playstation that went from MIPS + weird media chips to MIPS + weirder coprocessors to 3 core PowerPC + nvidia gpu to amd x86 apu.
cant wait for the wii phone to be released
leak core, is a once in a liftime opportunity to theorize about leaks so better do it now when the rummor is out.
Remember if it's correct info it will be taken down you have to be vague about stuff.
Honestly I’m excited for 5 years from now being able to play competitive fps settings with frames up to 5 a second on a Nintendo console
that WGA strike has been tuff, huh?
Why does emulation have to automatically be a bad thing for backwards compatibility? Nintendo already uses it for their classic games on the Switch and Microsoft has used it to get Xbox 360 titles working on the Xbox One and Series X consoles and it works rather well. Perhaps more impressively is how well Apple's Rosetta 2 emulator has allowed for x86-64 code to run on their ARM-based Apple Silicon chips with very little performance penalty. Part of how Rosetta 2 works its magic is by being written to take advantage of low-level details of how Apple Silicon works rather than just emulating raw instructions. As it stands, the Steam Deck can run Yuzu to emulate a Switch fairly smoothly. If Nintendo comes up with a Switch 2 comparable to the Steam Deck in terms of power and the architecture is intentionally designed to be somewhat similar to the Tegra X1, presumably a well-written emulation layer could allow for the Switch 2 to achieve backwards compatibility with most of the Switch's library with little effort and patches could be made for the few games that have issues.
Battery life and power usage. Emulation takes up too much power.
GameCube 2 portable hype
