    I'm 66 I have metal knees, metal hips and a bad ankle. I drove a VTX1800T for many years, balancing a 900 lb. motorcycle is not a easy task, and adding a rider makes it dangerous! I bought a Can Am F3 Limited, I absolutely love it, best decision I ever made.

    I agree with you 100%. Exactly why I bought a Can am and traded from a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic at 41 years old. GREAT for 2 up riders. Also started on a Vulcan :)

    You just described why I switched from my GoldWing to a Spyder this year. This video highlighted every single point I make to friends and anybody who asks. I even think I drove on the steep driveway you did. I would describe my wife as a nervous rider at best and I think she got to the point of being scared on the GoldWing. She absolutely loves the Spyder and I have no issues getting her to go for a ride, heck, she sometimes catalyses some of them. This is a video I will recommend to friends when they ask why I switched. Thanks and I hope you and your partner keep enjoying it as much as we do.

    It’s just easy... I agree! I rode two wheels for about 25 years. Multiple Sclerosis took me off two wheels and onto a Can Am. I would have done it without getting sick if I knew they were this easy, this powerful, or this fun! 👍🏻😎👍🏻

    I ride an RS model I will be trading up to an RT model soon and I am a fairly young guy at 32 I have a 13 year old daughter that loves to ride with me but after a while leaning forward her back starts to her so that RT would be nice with that back rest. I was wounded in combat and lost a limb and the use of another so I had to adapt it a little. I am above the knee so I had to add floorboards that prevent my prosthetic from sliding off because that could be very hazardous to health to get dragged off the bike at 70 mph. I moved the brake to the right handlebar where it should be in the first place. So all my controls are done by my hands the can am is a perfect way for combat wounded vets to get back out into the wind. I had actually bought a bike while I was in Afghanistan and then a week later was struck by a suicide bomber loosing 3 of my brothers and my right leg. So it sat for two years while I underwent recovery and when I got back I sold it and put the money towards a used spyder.

    I'm excited about my new to me 2013 CanAm Spyder RT Se5!! I've had 2 bikes. 1st one was a "81" Kawasaki 550LTD. It was a blast to learn on. Then went to a "07" Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic. It was fun too. Now I'm excited to have this fun CanAm Spyder RT SE5. It's being a blast too!! Can't wait for warmer, clear, and ice/snow free weather!!!!

    After 17 motorcycles, which included 3 Harleys, and 5 Gold Wings, and 48 years of riding, it was time for the wife and I to buy a Can Am RT-SE5. Both of us are in our mid to late 60's, and we have been granted a lease on life, so to speak, in being able to ride a few more years. Probably unlikely with the Harley Ultra Classic.
    In reference to your desire for a GPS device, and not wishing to spend another $1000, we feel as we have come with a solution for us at least. We have the Garmin HUD, and it will be mounted on top of the dash, and hardwired to the battery. The iphone has the Garmin HUD app, which gives turn by turn instructions, and is bluetooth connected to the HUD. Ours is a slightly older model, so the Can Am bluetooth dongle won't work with it, which means, acquiring the Sena SM10, which will.

      I too sold my Ultra and my wife sold her Heritage after 50 & 40 years of riding. We were going to retire from riding but it didn’t work. We’d drive on a coastal road and wish to ride again. We now have an RT Ltd and are back in the wind in our 70s.

    I tried to test drive a RT Limited Can Am . It was difficult to steer as I 😮had to watch where my Right Front Wheel was tracking on road. I saw this in your On Ramp speed maneuver trying to negotiate lane position.😮 I went back to dealership suggesting maybe air pressures were not correct in Front Tires🤔 Everything checked out OK. Salesman told me it was a learning curve to master the steering of a Can Am. 🫤 I got off and said Nah ! Nah ! back to my Honda Goldwing.😀

    Awesome...I've been racing and road riding for 30 years. Thought i'd buy an RTL with the GPS & freedom trailer and do about 8 to 10 thousand miles this summer. having road raced both cars and motorcycles I find this machine has more in common with a car because of the way it handles besides that the front end is like a C6 Corvette with control arms coil over shocks and an anti sway bar with 4 piston Brembo brakes, dynamic steering and stabilizing control system and all the G forces applied are like a car...well continue to have fun, I am, maybe I'll pass you on the road going thru Texas

      Mileage is disappointing. I have a 2014 RS, 998cc motor and 5 speed. Could use a 6th gear. Gets 30 to 33 mpg. Would work out to about 180 miles on a tank. Would probably be about the same for this guy. His Spyder is heavier and his motor is bigger. On the other hand, he has the 6th gear.

    • @SpyderJayohee
      @SpyderJayohee  Před 8 lety +1

      The Spyder's are not speed demons. Acceleration and top speed is low compared to your typical "sport" bike. That being said, I can still get the jump on cars, or get up to highway speed very quickly. So it's fast, just not that fast...

      2015 F3S 0-100kph = 4.8 secs. I dont think that is slow!

    • @theresonly1truth138
      @theresonly1truth138 Před 8 lety

      Spyder Jayohee it is not sick quick, but a 4.8 sec. to 100 kph is awesome compared to its safety level as an open air riding machine. i don't want to compare it to a liter bikes out there, but it is somehow close acceleration wise below 100 kph but much easier and safer to get there but more expensive ;)

    • @theresonly1truth138
      @theresonly1truth138 Před 8 lety

      Ian McKay no, it is super fast for that category of buyers. anyone who love to ride bikes and is afraid to buy and crash will buy this one and will find it super fast for his history acceleration levels he/she is used to experience.

    1 there resale value blows (unlike Harley) 2. There service sucks (unlike Harley) 3. Parts way over priced (worse than Harley) 1000. For a lame gps 500 for auxiliary lights I know because I bought a 2016 F3 limited worst purchase ever windshield if you touch feels extremely loose radio blows unless you upgrade to a better radio for 1000. The plastic saddle bags are hard to shut would never recommend buying this machine to anyone
