- Tool-assisted superplay (TAS) of Marble Madness Arcade 222,410 pts
The goal of this TAS is to achieve the highest possible score.
Difficulty Setting: Very Easy.
Note:
-I set the game at Very Easy to have the 65 sec at the start at level 2 instead of 60.
-At the end, I move around because moving gives you points, so I convert the remaining time into points.
-Thanks to SprintGod for his TAS of Marble Madness on Genesis. Almost all the skips he uses also work on the arcade version. • [TAS] [Obsoleted] Gene...

Wow, I never thought I'd see milking the movement points in Marble Madness.
This is godly. Everything we know is wrong when it comes to this masterpiece of a performance!
Some tricks were inspired by the Genesis TAS, I just proved that they are doable in the arcade version, but I don't know how hard they are to do in a real game.
@@Prog61 Probably damn near impossible. Just a guess of mine.
your profile pic - takes me back to beating that game in one quarter. an imperfect person playing well beyond his merits.

いやコレはマジで凄いわ…
It went by so quickly, the game didn't have time to load the Silly Race's music properly! 😂
Been so long since I played this in NES it feels like a dream.
Doing these TAS with style and playful gaming.
Music was miles ahead of its time
That was legendary!
Being Great at this game back in 1985 and watching this gives me chills , thanks so much keep up the great work, I was one of only a few players to have done and witness the apples on Hypersports back in the 80s, now everyone can enjoy it through your videos ,
Any chance you can do1984 Atari Peter Pack Rat play through on Hard level still one of the toughest game ive ever played also Bally Sente Snacks n Jackson , thanks again TAS Legendry Stuff.
Thanks for the comments, it's greatly appreciated.
I don't know these two games very well, but I will add them to my (too long) list.
I saw what you did there. Very nice!
Damn! Amazing!
すごすぎますね。。当時は215000点超えは日本レベルだったのに。。
That niconico guy who tried it, his highest score which he didn't achieve in the video... still 6,000 points behind
Yoo!!
Is it possible to get a few more points by taking out the black marble in the Aerial Stage (1:20), or would this cost too much time so as to not be worthwhile?
At the end of each level you get 1000 points for every second left, so it's probably best to complete the levels as quickly as possible I think.
@@Prog61 You completed the level with 99 remaining still. I agree that if you lose that it's not worth it, but maybe if you can still beat the stage with 99 left, the time taken more than makes up for the movement you'd do with that extra time at the end of Ultimate?
@Formedras You're right, sorry I was thinking of the marble at 0:43. As long as I don't stop rolling too long, yes it would be best to get all the points I can since I have about 10 seconds left to do so. I'll keep that in mind for a possible future TAS.
Thank you.
0:44 That HAS to be a bug! I've played this since it came out in 1986, never saw that! 1:30 Another bug, by not taking the launcher, the music did not change, and evidently the original engineer didn't test this much, the soundtrack carried right into the Silly level, until reset by the birds.
I first saw these tricks in a TAS of the Genesis version.
I was surprised that the arcade version let you do this. I too played this game in 1986 but never would have thought to try that.
Can you do a tas on an atari prototype? (Cyberstorm)
I can do a TAS of any game emulated in Mame if the Save State works perfectly (which excludes a few Atari games right now). Cyberstorm is a fighting game which is not my favorite kind of game.
@@Prog61 Aw :(
Did my "faffing about" comment spur you on to a higher score? It would be nice if it did!
On the other video, at the end, I noticed that the score stopped incrementing when I changed direction, so I just redid the end with a smoother movement. And with a new little shortcut in level 5, which gave near 1000 more points total, which is significant enough to be publish here I think.
Thanks for the comments.
@@Prog61 I noticed. Brilliant!
3:16 Can you please tell me how to do that! :)
You have to jump before the block appears. This trick works because when the block appears you are inside, so the game puts you on top.
@@Prog61 I get that! But everytime I do it, I shatter into pieces!!
The only video I found of someone doing this is: czcams.com/video/fYsTvS3VCYQ/video.html
Hope this help.
@@Prog61 I still can't do it!! Is there a certain spot you have to be in? Because I can't time it for crap!!
@@JackTheGamer3 Are you playing this game in MAME with a mouse or keyboard? Because if so, you have to change the settings in the "Analog controls" menu. With 30 in Digital Speed, you will never go as fast as you need. You have to set this value at least over 150. And if you play with a mouse you have also to increase the sensitivity setting.
Hope this help.
