The final level was so hard! I played the game several times and I repeatedly failed after many attempts, but before yesterday, I've FINALLY completed the whole game.
Marble Madness, since it came out in 1984, will make people rethink what video games are. Just as Sgt Pepper and Revolver made people made people rethink what music is. Enhanced graphics, the first game to use FM stereo sound and an elaborate soundtrack made people see and hear stuff that has never been seen or heard before in video games Some of the stuff that remains standard to video games were all influenced by Marble Madness. This game is criminally underrated.
The first of the atari system games, with the FM and "pokey" chips and arguably the best! Great prog rock style soundtrack and love it to this day! :-D
I remember this and Paperboy, games with neat music, but so dadgum hard you would never hear the whole song. Too busy dodging rogue lawnmowers and marble eating cylinders to notice donchaknow.
A lot of these songs have *atmosphere* which really adds to it... though I still have a little bit of a reference to the nes soundtrack for feeling a lot more catchy
MotionBricks Studio I think this person may be referencing the whole "Micheal Jackson made the music in Sonic" thing... where some say he was never involved, some say he quit due to software limitations and refused to be credited, and other such various things. I'm not 100% sure about the situation, but if you look it up on CZcams, people have made videos juxtaposing Sonic music and MJ music. Now, either he's joking about THAT, or... he's whacko.
初めてナムコのゲームセンターで観たとき、鮮やかな画面、FM音源+ステレオで鳴り響く音楽、そしてユーモア溢れる演出に、アメリカって本当に凄いのを作るなあと思わされた。
I loved the music from this game. Thirty years later and I am searching for it on CZcams. Crazy
sounds like music from a Jean Luc Ponty album
snap me too 4 years later
Remember Adventure Of Lolo??
I like the level 2 soundtrack.
The tutorial stage music is so beautiful and calm it nearly brings a tear to my eye.
I remember this game in the arcade. The music was on point.
I played it on the PSP as part of Midway Arcade Treasures Extended Play. However, the music & sound been pinch down.
The final level was so hard! I played the game several times and I repeatedly failed after many attempts, but before yesterday, I've FINALLY completed the whole game.
Didn't expect to see you here! XD
What a surprise!
クラフトワークっぽい音楽ですね。無機質な世界感にピッタリだ。

I explored this game when I was as little as... five. Yes, *five.*
The first of the atari system games, with the FM and "pokey" chips and arguably the best! Great prog rock style soundtrack and love it to this day! :-D
Such musical ingenious, especially from a game back then.
Very prog! Reminds me of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. My Dad always said the same thing, too, lol.
This game used to ROYALLY PISS ME OFF as a kid, but damn I love it!
This is great quality upload.
このゲームは昭和59年に登場 アメリカのアタリゲームで私はとてもFM音源に感動した
Marble Madness is one of the earliest games to use the FM Chip.
Sounds great. So nice and clean :) THANK YOU!
5:07 SEGA!!!
Wrong company, buddy.
@@ybom06yt38 ya I know but that's what it sounded like
jack the gamer 3 I always thought of SEGA when that part plays!
The practice level sounds like the intro to an old VHS employee training video
12:39 shit gets real.
I remember this and Paperboy, games with neat music, but so dadgum hard you would never hear the whole song.
Too busy dodging rogue lawnmowers and marble eating cylinders to notice donchaknow.
These FM patches have not aged well

At 8:40, change the speed to 2. Just for laughs... and a headache.
2nd Version of Silly Race
Level 2 FTW
A lot of these songs have *atmosphere* which really adds to it... though I still have a little bit of a reference to the nes soundtrack for feeling a lot more catchy
This reminds me of Wendy Carlos' work.
Yeah, I immediately thought of TRON :)
My favorites:

I Love the Practice Music. It Should be Extended.
YES, I love it so much I programmed a patch on one of my synths that sounds nearly identical to the brass sound used.
Oof, right in the childhood
The music for the third level legitimately makes me feel scared.

This was the first video game in Stereo w/ new Yahama skills.
Level 2 soundtrack is my favourite.
at 10:13
When you have to go to the bathroom and someone is inside taking too long.
The win music at 12:37 is the BEST
R.I.P Brad Fuller.
3:09 is my favorite song in the game.
Yes
rescore a Star Trek Original Series fight scene with the third level's music, terror and hilarity ensues
How do I get past level three I have no time left
Can you do a soundtrack of Paperboy! (Arcade)
Reminds me of Danny Elfmann
12:37
All Clear
sigh wish this game had a few more levels
raccoon681 well that could have happened if marble madness 2 was released but it got cancelled
Just play hamsterball for the pc, the best marble madness remake
That music sounded like a game from Sega Genesis
Atarster they use a similar soundchip. there actually is a japanese genesis version and it sounds the same.
***** oh yeah i didnt remember the arcade sound so good i thought is was the same.
+Dark0Lord7 Maybe the sound designer didn't like the original instruments and decided to tweak them a little
Arcade music?
me gusta esa 6:23
10:38
Woah, I had no clue the NES game was a remake
More of a port, but the good kind of port.
@@YabaiModding Back in the old days, we used to call them 'arcade conversions' :)
Ninten Genius brought me here.
This I like. A lot.
so much more going on than the US nes release. prog as fuck. like zappa and gentle giant made a song with cardiacs.
track 3 sounds like banjo kazooie or some shit
Below-average soundtrack
You no Michael Jackson wrote this music if you listen carefully you can see how some of it sounds just like THRILLER.
Brad fuller & Hal Cannon wrote the music, matey. Earl vickers did the sound design.
Well if you actually look online it say brad fuller and hal cannon did create the design, but Michael Jackson wrote the music
LOL okay mate
armalyte Lol this dude whacko.

This dose not really sound like the real marble madness I think it’s just a fan made
Wrong.
Play the arcade version, the NES Renditions sound like shit compared the OG arcade ver
