- Tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) of Marble Madness II Arcade in 9:28 (931,900)
-Timing starts from gaining control of the marble (when the "Time to finish practice" text box disappears) (0:13) and ends the frame that the goal tape goes blue after crossing the finish line on the King of the Mountain level (9:41).
-I disabled the "First-time messages" option in the game menu. This is so as not to waste time on the first level.
-This is my first TAS of this game. I was learning the game at the same time as I was doing the TAS. I'm sure there are many things that can be done to complete the game faster.
-It's far from a perfect speedrun. I didn't beat the best time which is on speedrun.com ( • (WR) Marble Madness 2 ... ). I watched this video only after completing my TAS.
-There are several shortcuts from this video that I will implement in my next TAS of this game.
-To do a real speedrun I shouldn't have made points in the 3 "Pin Bonus" because we lose a lot of time at the end of the bonus, but it was fun to do.
-I clocked this waste of time at 1:00. If you subtract that from my time, you get 8:28, which is close to 8:20 on speedrun.com.
-I did not saw that Jack Retro did a TAS in 7:55. Good Job, it will be hard to beat. • [TAS] Marble Madness 2...
-UPDATE: Jack Retro did 1,721,750 in this video: • Marble Madness 2 remov... which is higher than I would have thought possible. And he (or someone) have found a way to display scores higher than 999,999, very interesting.
-When your marble becomes dizzy, the fastest way to stop this dizziness is to press the button repeatedly. The fastest you can press the button is 20 bps. Faster than that won't work.
-If you don't press the button, the dizziness can last more than 4 seconds (depending on how high you fell). Pressing at 20 bps reduces those 4 seconds to half a second.

Prog61: Posts a time going for speed and points
TAS: This isn't even my final form!
For a Prototype sure it haves some levels.
My favorite part was at Silly 7:01
I also like how you got a BIG bonus that the pitch of the sound went into a deep tone.
By the way, i was having a debate with myself if i should add this game to my list of games to make TASes (I mean, for my Channel i call them TAPs because they are more like Playthroughs and not Speedruns, they could be also consider as (S)uperplays)
I was like: Mmm.. i mean, Marble Madness II it's pretty nice for a Prototype game but.. me trying to make a TAS of them.. kinda doesn't get to me.
Good job making the TAS.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I did not saw that you did a TAS of this game in 7:55. Good Job, it will be hard to beat.
My TAS is not a good speedrun because I did too many points in the bonus, but it was fun to do.
@@Prog61 ^^
I can see why Atari Games yanked this. While slated for a 1991 release, Marble Madness II has the look of a game from around 1987. It looks less advanced than some of their previous games from several years prior.
Still cant believe they never released this.
Maybe 1-Up Arcade will release a cabinet containing both games on it if there’s enough demand for it
SF2 plus not doing good at loketests is why. The game it was canned for, Guardians of the Hood, sold decently well iirc.
I learned about the existence of this sequel last year, Atari cancelled it before its release for some reason.
Maybe because its shit
@Jack Retro did TAS in over 7-min, 55-sec in no time. Searching this video!
I hadn't seen that, Thanks. It will be hard to beat. I scored too many points in the bonus for it to be a good speedrun.
@@Prog61 One trick is actually not to score in pin bonus 1 and 2!!! But In pin 3 you wanna score 5500 pts!!! ^^
cute lost media
Why practice race has a beginner race music?
Didn't even know this game existed.
3 player tas?
I tried to play this on bizhawk and it couldn't determine how to load the ROM.
how did you find that game
something tells me thats not how the pinball board is supposed to work lmao
Huh. Never know what you'll run into on CZcams. Is it just me or are there a _lot_ of arcade games that got yanked for no apparent reason? (Primal Rage 2 comes to mind.) The only problem I can see here (from Atari's perspective) is that it's too generous, and that's easily fixable.
I'd like to know what the highest score you could get is. 🙂
Jack Retro made 1,721,750 (check out his channel), which is higher than I would have thought.
What does the marble even say? I can't tell
when the marble reaches the GOAL pad it either says "Radical! Blue!" or "Bodacious! Blue!"
Who would want this on Nintendo Switch?
Marble madness but on crack
i dont like the face on the marble . Or the enemies . I think thats what made the first MM so good was . the un human like objects. Putting faces on everything looks like some stupid gimmick it doesnt have the same charm . Also the levels look too mirrored all the time and the random enemies are mirrored too. just seems kind of lazy
The guy that made that decision admitted he feels the same way in an interview and regrets it.
I totally agree. I totally prefer MM 1

This game looks like it suffers the same problem as Spy Hunter 2. They tried something different which should always be praised but seemed to forget what made the first one so good. This doesnt look nearly as fun.
