I'm happy you finally did this one. This was so wrong, but I'm happy she was fired. The other officer should've been fire too for backing her up like it was legal.
I love how the moron cops try to use reason.
Well you see there's a lot of drug activity here so we need to see your ID to make sure you're not a drug dealer.
What the f*** is my ID going to tell you whether or not I'm up to no good
At least a female officer got fired so now people's lives are safer that she's not on the job.
Do you know how many videos I've seen were a female officer loses her firearm to a suspect and now male officers have to come and face an armed purp
Yeyeye
The article about the Locust Grove police chief being charged is for Locust Grove, Oklahoma not Georgia. I believe the interaction happened in GA. The article mentions Mayes County which is a county in Oklahoma where Locust Grove is located. Pretty sure you are finding info on two different chiefs.
I found it funny that the only reason they even noticed him hanging out for a long time was because they were doing pretty much the same thing.
Underrated

That's not even it, he was black outside. The greatest crime of all.
This part. He's sitting at a pump that he could not use. As she said, his filler was on the other side of the car. He was there for at least 30 minutes, taking up a pump. I've been to this QT, like all the others, there is ample space for him to park and talk on the phone, sitting in the pump lane, isn't it.
This video title is also click bait BS. There is nothing in this interaction that could have led to her dismissal. It just happened to occur just prior to her being let go. Total nonsense connecting the 2 for views. I kept waiting for her to draw on him or something. "Immediately Terminated" My ass. Psh. Do better AtA.

Not only that, but if he was guilty of "loitering", so were the cops. They said they were there for at least 20 minutes, before approaching him. If they're on the clock, why aren't they actively patrolling? How many ACTUAL crimes were committed while they were harassing this innocent man?

The goal was never to get him to move his car. They already profiled him as a drug dealer because he checked their boxes: flashy car, loitering, being black, associating with someone who walked by. They wanted him to run or catch him with a warrant or priors so they could say they smelled weed, or his eyes weren’t right, so they could rip apart his car to remind him that they’re in charge.

So let's say I'm a suspect of a crime. I can make up an excuse like this and walk Scott free? That seems to me like a recipe for disaster on limiting police functions.
And this could be weird to read, but i'm glad we don't have these bullshit laws over here. It makes me feel more safe knowing that police can identify a suspect before a crime is committed instead of "OH YEAH, THE AXE GUY, ha! I told you he was shady!"

I can't believe loitering is even considered a thing these days. Literally standing around doing NOTHING can be a crime.
if you're not gonna do anything, it better be for a god damned good reason, sir. or you're going to JAIL.
it's classist as hell. Literally just another mechanism for the state to bully the poor and working class
We live in a consumerist capitalist police state. If you are not buying something or working, you are not allowed to be in public. Buy something or leave the store.
I usually parked my car away from the pump so it doesn't interfere with customers.
Some businesses don't like it when large groups of people "hang around" at their business because it can intimidate customers from coming in and making purchases. ESPECIALLY if it's in an area that's well known for a high crime rate.
Something that isn’t mentioned here: QT gas stations have signs posted around the parking lot that say “safe space”. They are places that are monitored by security cameras, and meant for people doing things like what this guy was doing… Stopping to talk on his phone.
Immediately I noticed that the officer said they had been there 20 minutes. So it's apparently ok for them to "hang out" but not anyone else? The individual could simply say that they had to make a phone call and didn't want to be on the phone while driving; since non-hands free operation is now illegal in many places.
Telling him to go home after their interaction was the kicker for me. You’ve investigated, found no alarm or crime, so why do I have to go home? Am I not free to remain innocent? Wankers

Speaking as someone who worked at a gas station when I was a kid, this is less an issue of drug soliciting and more an issue of a guy inconsiderately occupying a gas pump for an excessive amount of time. Don't recall that being illegal, just douchey.
Yea....they should have just told him to pump gas or move away from the pump to take his phone call. The cops were more worried about a possible drug bust and not the fact that the guy was being an asshole blocking the pumps.
But there is several empty pumps?! Not like he’s blocking anyone from getting gas. I would see if differently had there been a line or crowded but clearly no one had to wait on him.
Omg stfu were allowed to sit there if we want. Other pumps are open lmao
Did they buy something though? I use to work out in the field and go to a gas station for lunch daily, eat my food while parked at the pump to get shade. One day an employee told me I need to move for customers. (There wasn't a single car in the parking lot or at the pumps) when I was eating my $15 worth of snacks lol.
it is trespassing. As a manager of a gas station, you would be allowed to ask them to leave or call the police to give him charges. He does not have the right to block service zones in the gas station. Other customers need to use those pumps. There is parking zones at gas stations for a reason. He should of used one of them instead of a service zone.

Parking at a pump while not getting gas is a fuck stick move period. The night person working is most likely told its unsafe and to ask people that do it to move their car or leave. This night person is probably also told to not leave the store unattended and if there are a bunch of people and someone is doing this to just call the police and have them tell that person to leave. @@brucemason1901 What are you talking about?
I first heard of Audit the Audit after I was waiting for my car mechanic to finish an oil change and walked out to patches of grass near some houses right across the driveway. I was not aware anyone was living there and was really surprised to see an officer walking towards me and asking what I was doing there because he got a call about someone wondering what I was doing there, and asking for my ID. I was willing to give it to him because I wasn't aware of doing anything wrong and wasn't as aware of my rights. They ran the ID and nothing came back, and I explained that I was just waiting for the mechanic, which was enough for the cop to leave. Although I was really shaken by the encounter as I hadn't expected it and was worried something would happen if they ran the ID, the cop was respectful throughout and actually apologized for stopping me, and I just told him that he was doing his job.
When I picked up my car and told the mechanic what had happened, he told me about AtA and that this was not a situation where I needed to provide ID because my state is not a stop and identify state. I have understood a lot of situations while watching AtA that would indicate providing ID was not obligatory, but I do question this one because, unlike in this video's suspected loitering situation, sitting on what was probably someone's lawn might have been unusual enough and concerning enough to merit investigation and there was an informant who called the police (satisfying reasonable suspicion doctrines, from what I understand). I feel that even with the knowledge I get from this channel, I would be afraid of being wrong about the law if I were to stand up and not identify myself in the future.

Same here. Then the cops decided they were going to run all the teenagers off of the parking lots, so then all the teenagers were just driving up and down the main strip. It wasn't the result the police were looking for. I guess they thought all the teenagers would just stay at home. Idiots. I got a loitering ticket when they started all that mess. I was walking to my car after work at a grocery store which was a popular parking lot for teenagers to hang around in. Stopping to talk to someone in a parking lot just wasn't going to be tolerated. Another unintended consequence the cops created by doing that was it started sowing the seeds in a bunch of teenagers' minds that turned into not liking police. And cops wonder while they are not liked very much nowadays. Idiots...They've been actively working to gain peoples' ire for decades.

If a person is on private property, particularly a business during open hours, shouldn't it be up to the property owner or their representatives to determine who can be there, how long and for what purpose? Maybe they don't mind customers hanging out for a little extra time. It should be left up to them rather than going straight to a "loitering" assumption.
I went into a seven eleven one evening near where I live and a bunch of teens where hanging out by the door. They were asking stupid questions to the customers coming into the store and generally being intimating. I said something to the clerk and he asked them to leave which they did.
