In my lifetime I've known three Women who had breast cancer, one of them is related to me. Insurance would not cover their reconstructive surgery; only one of them managed to save enough money to get the breast reconstructive surgery done.
It's unfair that if their brothers had wanted breast implants insurance would have paid for it but won't do it for Women who have gone through the traumatic, physically and mentally painful disease that is Cancer.

Absolutely. Those who have been mutilated by disease ought to have reconstruction covered, especially considering how the loss of such body parts robs them of their self-esteem. In the same vein, it's also messed up that aging men with low testosterone have to jump through ridiculous hoops to get a TRT prescription (and it's more than just sex drive that is effected when it's low), when a 16 year old biological female can easily get a prescription just by saying "I feel like a boy".

That is a shame. If she makes over a certain amount per month/annually, she won't qualify for Medicaid. She would definitely have a chance if her Hashimotos is on the list of conditions they will cover but the income requirements will still disqualify her.

My daughter began saying she wanted to transition in eighth grade, even insisting on people calling her "Richard". A lot of her friends encouraged this and the staff at school allowed even her "new" name to be accepted. I really felt there was a real agenda from the school to push this Gender equality theme. Being immature and naive and at that age she really went all out, changing the way she dressed, walked and insisting that people call by her new name. And yet during this time period she was so depressed, Once the school called telling me she was saying she no longer wanted to live. One day I asked her "If you really think this is how you want to be then why isn't it making you happy?' I am so grateful that no actual medical procedures were done and it never got that far because now she's nineteen years old and my daughter once again. Perfectly happy and strangely enough never touches on the subject

For a start the massive increase in young people deciding they're the wrong sex is relatively recent. So saying the majority never de-transition in their lifetime doesn't mean anything as they haven't had their whole lifetime yet, and we're still currently suffering through this rather grim social experiment.
There is also a huge difference between someone who has a genuine psychological illness and someone with identity issues who has fallen prey to social contagion.
Also, as per link below, in the long term (quite apart from increased cancer risk, multiple infections, sterility etc) it doesn't work. Suicidality is 20 times as high as comparable peers.
I'm not against the surgery as an absolute last resort for people who are disturbed enough that they will likely do something drastic and dangerous if they don't get it, however a surgical intervention for a psychological problem is almost never appropriate and should always be the last resort.

Detrans woman here. I was a trans man for 14 years, detransitioned a year ago at 28. Initially it was a profound experience caused by a deep spiritual transformation that affected my whole body. It was a miracle.
Only recently am I now wracked with grief, shock and panic. I am going through a deep disillusionment with all this transgender stuff. When I started seeking medical treatment at age 14, I was desperate to save my life from the debilitating pain and horror. I had been left alone with undiagnosed health issues all my childhood. Not once did someone try to get me help. Even when I transitioned, there was no investigation into my health issues.
I'm so sorry that those who were supposed to love you, take care of you and lead you in the right direction failed you; I hope you will consider what kensears said above:

I know in my soul and my bones you are right that this is spiritual. It was a deep and total spiritual transformation that changed how I lived in my body, my whole energy and physiology, that healed me from transgenderism and sparked my detransition. I maintain that they are number one as they control the treatment of all cancer and heart disease, the 1 and 2 causes of death. 97.8% of people with cancer die within 5 years from chemo, surgery and radiation effects.

I suffered for years with female issues. Paid for my insurance for years & years & about died before i was approved to have a hysterectomy. Yet tax payer funded Medicare is paying for this? What about my suffering & millions more women across America? Maybe I should have told them I wanted to transition so I could have gotten it for free. Would have saved me $10k
Meidcare never paid for this and the reason is simple, why would republicans ever let trans people use Medicare for gender-affirming care ? And before you say he did use Medicare then i have to introduce to a brand new concept called lying.

I have a similar story. Because most doctors don’t care about women. There’s always products for erectile dysfunction which to my knowledge is not physically painful and though there’s mental anguish, there’s also mental anguish for female issues (I have endometriosis and fibroids) along with extensive pain. Yet Medicare will pay for men to transition to being women. Again I’m sure there is mental anguish but what about women who have breast cancer and don’t get approved for implants. so again women suffer with pain AND mental anguish and nothing. It’s a man’s woman.

I got a bachelors of science in Psychology and did a rotation as an RN in the local hospital behavioral health ward. I did not hear the word Trans until 2017 when a person in the ladies room of Cross Gates Mall food court bathroom told me they were one when I was washing my hands. They were hanging out at the mirrors staring at themself and told me they were T and said they did not feel man or woman, but dressed in a shirt similar to what I wore in 7th grade. Gender confusion was treated same as body dysmorphic as both are upset with body they are in. I never met one ender confused in the mental health industry. I did hear juvenile halls are all pushing kids down that route though, even a few whistleblower healthcare workers who came out about it, and there was that case of the boy in CA forced to take estrogen in threats of being held in longer if e refused, and he grew breasts. He told his dad and they are suing. Not all families can afford to sue. What do you call focusable altering at-risk populations with widespread sterilization?

True that. But it wasn't even private insurance... it was Medicaid (federal government assistance). Think about that... what larger agenda has to be at play when the federal government will pay for a young man to get breast implants, but will not pay to have them removed? Never mind that Medicaid will not pay for a woman to have breast implants after a masectomy, due to breast cancer.

It's wonderful hearing how this young man has been able to begin turning his life around. When he spoke about the opportunity he had to help his grandmother before she died, to reconnect with his grandfather, his current work (where his parents met!), as well as his hope for the future you could literally see the joy on his face. Praying for that joy and healing and strength to continue so someday he can encourage others who may have had similar experiences.
I just can't understand how it became professional practice to think that removing healthy functional parts of someone's anatomy is a good thing and a primary objective.

I'm so glad he had the courage to share his story. There are people with TRUE gender dysphoria, but what's going on now is robbing children and other impressionable people of their lives. It's so sad and so wrong. The thing that stood out the most (apart from the "coaching" forced upon him)? He talks about helping his family, being with and caring for his grandparents, working hard and being a productive member of society. It's not ME ME ME ME ME ME ME. He finally got out of his head. Sad that he undertook such extreme surgery before figuring out he was on the wrong path, but it's great to hear this young man processing his emotions in a healthier direction. Sending wishes for success/happiness/fulfillment in his days ahead. At the same time, it's CRAZY there are "healthcare professionals" that do this to confused young people.
WPATH themselves say there is no way to know if an individuals gender identity is fixed or will change (WPATHSOC8 S.45) but they insist on an affirmation only model all the same. They are to blame.
