🚆 🇭🇰 東鐵綫 MTR East Rail Line - IKK-train/sp1900 - Sheung Shui to Hung Hom

This video was recorded on 2021/02/05, the date in the video is incorrect.
MTR is upgrading the signalling system the East Rail Line from Alstom TBL 2 to Siemens Trainguard MT, which means new trains come and old trains go. The 12-car IKK-train/SP1900 which entered service in 2001 will be withdrawn from 2021/02/06 and continue its service on the Tuen Ma Line with new equipment and shorten to 8-cars. At the same time, the new Hyundai Rotem EMU (R-train) will finally enter service. 6 years since the first set of R-train was delivered to Hong Kong in 2015. Hopefully, the new signalling system won't fail this time.

MLR RIP 2022

@@user-hx9yq3lw5n earlier in school i was planning to buy 5 MTR MLR carriages.
Two were front and back end carriages. One was a first class. The rest of the two were motor carriages with pantographs. Thought about cutting them and making them three doored per side. Then reusing the removed parts for the house. I live in Pakistan. I used to be in HK till July 13 2022. Effectively making them cargo MLRs for transporting waterfowl. (Forgot to mention but it was also gonna be turned into literal cars from trains, though only the front and back end pumps gasoline, and gasoline is always pumped at the back, so need a back part of the train converted to car. I was also planning on welding back mirrors on the heads, and adding car wheels in the cab to drive it on asphalt roads
