You can tell the game developer is a huge lover of RoboCop. The story progression, the side stories linking with each other, the depth of character development, and consistency with the originals - 🔥💓
But didn't understand the characters. Cain only ran like that to get up the elevator shaft.

The only complaint I have is they didn't use Clarence Boddiker or Dick Jones brain for the Cain mech.
@ryanmadej6694 He means the robot that was once used for Cain's brain in Robocop 2. We know the final boss as Cain even though its no longer Cain.
I get that, chronologically, this game is apparently set between the 2nd and 3rd movie but I like to consider it the 4th Robocop movie we never got. The love for the character practically *oozes* from the game.
They probably choose to set it between 2nd and the 3rd because every robocop fans want to forget the 3rd movie existed.
Lets call it RoboCop 2.5
I consider it the REAL 3rd movie, TBH. The other one was just a fanfic.

A perfect 4th Robocop film in my eyes is Robocop ending up in a future where he’s considered obsolete to many but still manages to kick ass and uphold the law.
I feel like this should have been the Robocop 3 that we deserved, I'm glad it exist as a game, I'm gonna buy that for a lot of dollars.

Some actually said how could Cain be back? Well Murphy just destroyed Cain's brain. Aside from the access panel and some circuitry the robot could easily be repaired.
@@nascar138 Yeah, but what made Robocain so scary, was that he was already a mass murdering psychopath with a crippling nuke addiction, terrifying. I first saw it when I was 10 back in 1990, scared the shit out of me. The same robot with a different brain isnt nearly as edgy.

Yes I remember watching Robocop 2 as a child, the parking garage where he first emerged was scary as hell, not to mention the scene where robocop was hanging onto the elevator wire and cain slowly closing in from behind

I always loved the second model of RoboCop/Cain. Right up there for me with the Alien design. When it first enters the warehouse, shoots out the lights, hits its floods, and the chaingun spins up. The thing is terryfying!
Yeah, that shit gave me nightmares. Cain shuts the door, shoots the lights, and then his lamps turn on then starts hunting in the dark. The creepy, unique mechanized walking sound made it even better.
Could you imagine if that Cain mech had Clarence Boddiker or Dick Jones brain inside?

@dbsti3006 I also loved when it flipped forward, trying to get RoboCop off of its back. When we get to see how it's feet had blades which staked the road, giving Cain stability, almost like Talons. Which engaged and released. Like ice picks, axes. I always thought that shot was interesting. I always wondered by they included that segment in the screen reel. Every so many seconds of capture is ridiculous in production cost, so they wanted and intended for us to see that. Maybe highlighting how human RoboCop was, to how beast like and feral RoboCop unit 2 was, like a K-9 unit. Or maybe just to frighten us with the idea that it took a human's approval to think up, design, and approve of that feature. Just how terrifying we as humans can be, without restraints and left unchecked, we can think up some incredibly frightening stuff. If I could ask the director a question, it would be that. They included the shot for a reason. Beyond it being cool for the fight scene, if for the director of shot, it meant anything else.

Robo-cain’s fight was the only one that gave me genuine fear because of how mobile and large he is, I love a good melee rush but not against him

Just my head canon, but Robocop was the first fully functional cyborg of the 1980s. OCP eventually failed or was bought out by Arasaka or was absorbed into Militech while cybernetic augmentation became more mainstream. Robocop x Cyberpunk seems to be so transitional. Megacorps are not too far off.

Man it'd be so cool if they managed to replicate Eds original voice. It's almost as iconic as Peter Wellers
I also love how they explored the pshycological aspect of the concept. I think that's my only gripe with the 3 original films - they went down a superficial route. Imagine if the sequels doubled down on the idea of what makes a person a person, can you really be owned by your creators if you have free will and so many more cool concepts
Ed209's voice is nothing like the original. Sounds cheap. Wellers voice acting in this game is mediocre at beet.

Something that bothers me about ED-209 voice in game is how the acting makes him sound emotionless and boring like a generic stock robot voice, when the charm of the og voice of 209 cames from how agressive and autoritharian it was.
ED-209 in the movies has a lot of personality due his voice, that basically makes him an angry cop that gives orders in an condescendent tone and has lion roars to intimidate even more. In game 209 doesn't have any of that.
Kain in the film was already terrifying, this cranks that feeling up to 11 😱
As a kid I sat in awe of Robocop vs Robocop 2, and now as an adult I got to actually do the fight myself, all through the OCP building. What a time to be alive! The year's almost over, and lads, we ate well in games this year!
The fact that we actually get to fight the Cain robot from robocop 2 blows my brain and makes me jealous that I can’t play it cuz I don’t have a ps5

Hilariously enough, in one of the missions where 3 ED-209s are sent to back you and some SWAT dudes up in a bank heist mission. The second one trips on the bank stairs and scraps itself on the floor like in the first movie.
I had a big Ed-209 action figure toy as a kid. I LOVED that thing. I also had Robocop of course.

I feel like 50% of the appeal of the Robocop-verse is Stan Winston. The design of Robocop, Robocain and Ed209 is so incredible, above even Star Wars or any other pratical effects creature from that era.
Because those things, despite the great efforts and ingenuity, are obvious sci-fi. Robocop, ED209, and Cain, could all be real.

Everything about the robocain looks 100% realistic, but in the mechanical sense, there are no random wires plugged in some random place, the robot uses hex screws, actual hydraulic lines and pistons, gears, bearings. So insane, the original model artist was a genius and clearly had mechanical knowledge

Stan Winston wasn't involved in the making of RoboCop in any way.

EDs always let out those pathetic noises when they’re taken down. Cried like a baby when it fell down the stairs in the first movie and couldn’t get up
The first ED-209 was tough but after I had the board that let me turn the Auto-9 into a non stop bullet hose I just fed the rest of the bosses lead until they were full and their health bars empty.
I am so glad i played through this game blind, although i ended up dying for not being able to see where to shoot
The ed209 repeatedly saying to put down the weapon while shooting is hilarious
The ueds is an unexpected homage to the reboot that i appreciated, and it actually shares designs with one of the robocop2 prototypes before the final version
The cobra cannon while the theme song blasted through was a fever dream

These Robot battles are crazy
That first ED-209 fight was easy: the first set of boxes with the blue tarp (at 5:17) is unbreakable and you can just fire over the top of it at the speaker of ED and he can barely hit you. You can dodge left and right and he won't fire rockets at you at that range. By the time i got to Robo-Cain, I has the fully-auto, auto reloading Auto-9 with improved dmg and armor-piercing, so he wasn't much of a problem.
Yea you can cheese him EXTREMELY easy. I found out by accident the first time I did the fight a few seconds after the fight started. Just happened to get behind some cover that can't be destroyed that's the perfect height to shot ED in his weakspot and he can't do a thing to you.

Maybe OCP shouldn't have tried to package war machines for law enforcement.
Ed 209's the UED's could have been combat support units, but not law enforcement.
That was pretty much the plan until Dick Jones pushed them as "urban pacification"

@@antcow1239ironically, the nature of the remake could have been retooled into a proper sequel where the Japanese company that assimilated Omni Consumer Products ends up creating a proper RoboCop successor through a redemption program for repentant criminals.
since in MK11, robocop and ed-209 were besties. as a result, after kronika's defeat, ed-209 is running amok.
I know the Auto-9 can be enhanced, but in the end it's still just a 9mm handgun, it shouldn't be able to do much against such heavy armor like Robocop 2 or ED-209. Honestly, the Cobra Assault Cannon were introduced way too late into the game, there should at least be one every time you fight one of these bosses (or at least a rocket launcher)
Kinda wish they had Murphy at least TRY to warn the other cop away, if not push him down or out of the way. Even if the other cop said “relax, I GOT this!”, at least Murphy would’ve TRIED 😅

Both of these two creations (ED-2O9 and Robocop 2) are all mistakes that the OCP had ever created.
While Robocop 1 was a successful human/machine that OCP has ever created.
They had to slow down ED 209s gunfire when fighting him. Lol. Those huge cannons nearly mowed Robocop down within 5 seconds in the movie.
It would be great if we have to defeat ED by luring it to stairs...

Ed 209 sounds identical to the first film. They do the lion’s roar during combat, and make pig squeal sounds on death. Also the mechanical/hydraulic noises they make sound similar.

Damn if they only had done God of War 3rd person hand to hand combat scenes where u push certain buttons to move through the fight attack motions it wouldve been siiiick cinematography in-play cut sequences to see. Like to see Robo grab one of ED's arms, use his brute force, to push its gun fire to shoot off his other arm like he did in the first movie!!!!

6:5 mother board in Robos Gun will rip Ed to pieces. You only have 25 mags but the gun is very powerful. It takes less to kill the bosses with that motherboard setting as well!

honestly its kinda impressive: robocop took on ed209 with just a pistol and won. he basicaly defeated a small tank with nothing more than a high caliber pistol and won.

If it was 3rd person, I'd consider buying it. I get why they made this 1st person to make you feel like RoboCop, but Id rather it be 3rd person so I can see RoboCop.
This game is the closest we will ever get to a Robocop 3.
I had my gun damage at 90%+ at the time I faced the last boss. Took literally no more than a minute or so to beat it.
