He was a character they seem to chase off characters from the main channels in England on tv thesedays. He was entertaining as was Brian Clough characters. People are desperate for bland middle of the road pc Alan Titchmarsh or Gary Lineker types.
I loved Channel 4 racing every saturday with the morning line then the afternoon racing was only 4 but i was hooked still am to this day they need mcririck on ITV Racing

I used to get out of bed early Saturday morning for the entertainment. I never get up for the new crowd because they're boring as fuck. The only one I enjoy is Chapman. You don't appreciate what you have until it's gone. Thanks John and your racing family for giving me many years of fantastic entertainment.
