Yes, I know of one gay teenager in Miami who went through living hell. His parents were homophobic, and then all of a sudden Anita Bryant came out on TV and started exasperating the situation by reinforcing 10 times over all of the myths that his parents believed in. The Bible commands us to show real love by hating what is bad. (Romans 12:9) That is what Anita did in opposing homosexuality. I am so sick of people confusing hating an ACT with hating a PERSON. I’m an old lady now but I remember Anita Bryant. I hated her. I was raised by two loving, doting attentive Dads back in a time when nobody ever heard of such a thing. She did so much damage. I remember her advertising oranges and orange juice. I didn’t drink orange juice for years and years. If people would spend more time and energy on real problems and stay the hell out of people’s bedrooms, what a happier world this would be.

Why do you insist on forcing people to adhere to laws based on your religious views? Believe your beliefs. Live them in your own life. So, we can acknowledge that not everyone's going to accept homosexuality, but those same people are not entitled to do crimes or spew certain kinds of hate regarding it. In america, just because you disagree with something, if it's not illegal, then one can engage in it whatever that might be. Maybe somebody hates NASCAR with a passion and thinks it should meet a fiery end, but there's other people that love nascar.
