  • From a newbie point of view I found the DS12 to be just as easy to learn as picking up my DX9 from Spektrum fo rthe first time. The feel and quality of the product is outstanding. As they say, if you can wish it, it will do it!

    I've been flying mine for a little over a year now. I switched from Spectrum too and I couldn't be happier with the DS-12 Carbon Deluxe. If you're going to get a Jeti radio, be sure to the the USB interface device for your receivers. A lot of them are shipping without the latest firmware and you'll need that to access the RX thru the device explorer which is much nicer than the Jeti Box emulator on the TX.

    I asked for it and BOOM, just a few days later you post this. Appreciate the info, it does have a lot of nice to have features , swaping the switches and the dual bands, but right now I can't justify the upgrade. However it has moved up the list quite a bit.
    With me wanting to move up to bigger, balsa builds like you've done, it may be worthwhile because we've all experienced the Spektrum LOS, where we lose a plane for no reason at all. Right now, a DX9 runs the price of a good, larger foam plane. The Jedi would run the price of a good, larger balsa plane and the dual band seems to be an almost required insurance policy and the other features something I would want. I mean, who doesn't want to play Tetris between flights???
    Thanks again, really enjoying the channel.

    Thank you for your detailed review! How are you finding the ergonomics? I've been using a DX7s for years (same shape as the DX9) and I find Spektrum's ergonomics to be excellent (I fly "pinch" style). Jeti radios look like they'd be very awkward to use. What has your experience been?

    • @JustPlaneCrazy
      @JustPlaneCrazy  Před 2 lety +1

      Just the opposite. I find the jeti with pinching to provide better feedback. The Hall effect gimbles help that

    • @JustPlaneCrazy
      @JustPlaneCrazy  Před 3 lety +1

      If you use a jeti Mezon esc with jeti receiver you get it all. Otherwise you can use any esc and just add whatever sensor you want to get info. Like current, mah, voltage, temp etc

    Hello ! What are the main differences between the DS12 Carbon Special Edition and a normal DS12 ? Just cosmetic stuff ?

    • @JustPlaneCrazy

      The special edition carbon can be ordered as a fully unlocked version. Meaning all the special features and functions are already there no additional purchase

    • @mwiz64
      @mwiz64 Před 2 lety

      @@JustPlaneCrazy There are some other differences that are pretty important. The standard DS-12 has plastic gimbals and a plastic rotary knob assembly. On the Carbon Edition, even the basic one, these are aluminum. The aluminum gimbals alone are worth the price upgrade, in my opinion.

    I have the DS12 basic and I feel like the gimbals kinda suck. I cant really tune it so its light enough on the sticks, without being too sensitive off the centers. Like doing rolls, its too easy to introduce elevator by accident. I might get rid of the thing. Jeti is a little overhyped imo.

      @@JustPlaneCrazy The DS-12 basic (Carbon Edition or Standard) comes as an 8 channel radio. For $20, you can unlock 4 channels and make it a 12 channel radio. For another $20 you can unlock another 4 channels and make it a 16 channel radio. It's similar with a lot of features offered on the DS-12 so you can pick your own price point as needed. If you're going to unlock a lot of things then getting one of the upgrade packages offered can be a significant cost savings.
