On the concrete where the walls are placed, tar cardboard is laid out as a water stop, so that no moisture can be pulled upwards.

@@thinkoutsidethecontainer wait I thought the pilons were the raised foundation? I don't know jack about building...yet, but I'll be focusing on earth bag/ recycled materials build. But it's cool seeing your process. I'm excited to see the approach once the containers are craned. The interior work is what intrigues me here.
Yeah I wasn't being clear. The foundation as of this moment is basically done (which is what you've seen in the live streams).
But by "next episode" being about foundation I mean the episodic entries, which are pre-scripted and carefully edited videos (like the pump house video from today).
These episodic videos take days to edit and thus are delayed. So the next episode (#17) is actually a few months behind the actual progress of the build.
Nice video...need to re-do my current pump house and will probably do the same!
...also need to make a small slab for a propane tank and generator - this will help a lot!

When you're done hitting the root with the hammer to separate the root. If I give you a tip, take the spade with it you can easily separate the root from the tree with 2 stitches! 😂😂😂😂
Lesson learned: don't use a hammer to break a root lol
For me it is a bad idea to have well and pressure tanks seperate. A well and the associated parts should be a intergal unit to make servicing far easier. Good quality video.
