- While nearly expired, discounted food items have made their way onto the channel on a number of occasions between our Clearance Food Challenge, expired vs fresh side-by-side taste test and first mystery menu video, never have we pitted two bakery clearance racks against each other to see which would make for the more epic cheat day feast! To create an even playing field, we each were given a budget of $25 to be spent at different grocery chains offering their bakery items at a discounted price once their sell-by dates have been reached and reveal our findings to each other on camera, taste everything, and determine which location was about to toss the more delicious, indulgent spread. Gambling with variety, value, and most importantly freshness, we each managed to score some impressively appetizing treats for equally impressive prices while other items failed to hit the mark as ‘cheat day worthy’.
This was loads of fun for us and we hope y’all enjoy.

FAQ’s:
Q: How do you not gain weight?
Well, we currently are but here’s a quick answer as to how we managed to do weekly food challenges for a year and a half without gaining much it:
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training tossed in) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these challenges. The calories consumed in a food challenge are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a challenge but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our love for endurance sports and said discipline with our daily diets.
Q: Can you make a “What I eat in a day” / fitness focused video?
A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, we are only able to produce one piece of quality content with our current schedules. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within the food challenge genre and we’re constantly experimenting & trying to improve upon our style to make our channel/challenges a unique experience. This channel in particular will most likely always primarily revolve around food challenges but, if this ever became a legitimate source of income and we were able to focus our full attention towards creating content, our goal would be to start a second channel to offer more of a look into that side of our lives. So, for now, food challenges are the name of the game.

Tags, channel keywords, thorough descriptions etc. are all heavily considered and strategic for each of our videos as well. That carrot cake looks amazing and delicious🥕! Each time you make a video like this with expired food, I can't stop thinking about what the cashier or the workers must think when they see you walking around with all that food 😂
We typically shop quite late in the evening after they discount everything for the next day and trust us we get some looks from the night crew people seeing us load up the carriage with clearance goods while they stock the shelves for the following day 🤣🤣 luckily we have no shame at this point. Speaking of whoopie pies, theres a baked goods company in my area called Mrs Shirleys and they have quite the whoopie pie game with chocolate with peanut butter frosting, pumpkin spice and cinnamon roll flavors.

Ideas to consider: 1) Taste testing various brownie mixes or cake mixes with various types of ice cream/whipped cream 2) Homemade cheese and chocolate fondu arrangement with various dipping chips/candy bars/ pretzels/ crackers/chips etcetc
3) Sweet and savory mukbang of all your cravings
4) International foods miscellaneous
5) Thematic content: Candy sandwiches and nachos, for example: a) Hot fudge and marshmallow fluff mixed with cool whip and spread on sweet potato tortilla chips and b) Peanut butter spread on sandwich wraps with chocolate ice cream and butterfinger bars

I don’t think we have Juniors cheesecake in Toronto but I’m not sure, but we definitely do have The Cheesecake Factory. I do however have The Juniors cheesecake cookbook so I guess I could attempt to make one some time. When I saw you eating the cookies it reminded me of Subway cookies, I don’t think we have Strawberry ones here but we do have raspberry cheesecake ones which are pretty good. As far as I’m concerned muffins should only be eaten the day they’re baked, anything else would seem heavy and stale to me. Ok, weird question. Are your eye prescription the same for both? I'm only asking because my twin brother has perfect eye sight and my eyes are pretty bad. Lol I was the unlucky twin. 🥺🤓 Yes, I wear glasses (since 5th grade) but I love them now. 😂
It’s brutal choosing between the two even for us cause ideally it would be a hybrid of the two 😅😍 Pete’s has a stronger prescription than Nate with the glasses. Neither of us were blessed with good eye sight but Pete’s are definitely worse!

Not sure if it is the same at every Walmart but at mine the bakery is in the front and the discounted is in the very back by the ice cream.

Seriously appreciate it! We’ve read that it’s worked in both directions for people and that sometimes it’s a real turn off and a channel never grows because of it, and occasionally it’s played in someone’s favor like Will’s.
