Speaking of Epic React, Nike Factory stores still sell a lot of brand new Epic React in their full boxes without the lid cut off. Last month when I checked the size label inside the shoe, the manufacturer date said 2021 which was very recent. There are still a lot of Epic Reacts in many Nike Factory stores.
Yeah I noticed a lot of gym goers have been wearing the Nike Epic Reacts and look fairly new or barely worn. Interesting they were still manufacturing them fairly recently since it seemed to be discontinued.

My first running shoe was the GT 2000-7. Wow ASICS has really evolved! I'm considering getting the Nimbus Lite 3 in my men's size instead of the woman's version since the drop varies between them.
I just wrote a comment about the 13 mm drop for women. Why are they doing this? Please let us know if the men’s last is the same as the women’s and how the fit works for you. Martha
I'm curious about whether the drop is increased because it's a different insole. The insole on the Nimbus 2 womens version is pretty thick. If you were to switch it to a slimer one, wouldn't it change the drop by a couple of mms?
Added bonus is that it looks to be a great casual shoe at the end of its running life. I relegated my Epic React 2's to that status as well. How would you compare the Nimbus Lite 3 to the feel of the Novablast 2?
So far from what I saw from Asics that is coming in the first half of the year, the Nimbus Lite 3 seems the best option. And that cream white color will rule for the summer days. Great video.
I think their colors are horrible this year! I ordered four pairs of the Nimbus Lites 2 same colors .. at least they had two options that weren’t so horrid. A Nimbus Lite three has the worst color selection ever seen! I’m bummed that I have to spend that amount of money on ugly shoes just for comfort.
The color selection for the NL3 is so horrible! I would have to wait for them to be on sale to stomach paying $180 for all white nurses shoes that are going to look as big as boats on my feet. At least the NL2s I had a better color selection. But I bought five pairs of them and I’ve already burn through all of them. Might have to get the Nimbus 24s and deal with a heavier clunkier shoe at least they have better color selections. But I don’t know how the ride is compared to the Nimbus Lites.
Woah! Haven’t run in ASICS in years but this feels like a good one. Watching the video I kept thinking it seems like a close comparison to endorphin speed. Same price point. But 8.9oz would sound much better haha.
right? imagine if this came in at 8.99? I suppose that's the runner's mentality in all of us. oh, you got this shoe down to 9.2oz? amazing. let's go sub 9.
I am a sucker for good looks and I really like the Gel Nimbus for that (that all white colorway is gorgeous). I picked up a pair of Nimbus Lite 2 recently. I find the cushioning much more pleasant than the Novablast which I found very spongy. I can't wait to test them more once the snow has melted. I'm curious to compare the feel of the Flytefoam from the Fuji Lite 2 (that I use to run on snow) vs the Flytefoam of the Nimbus Lite 2.
I'm with you on the Novablast feeling a little too squishy for my preference.....it's still a good shoe but the bounciness of the foam diminished quite rapidly in my experience.
really liked the nimbus Lite 2s. Have you run in the 23s? They are on sale now and since I burn through these so quickly I was wondering if I should get those instead of the 24s and just wait for the 24s and the NBL3s to go on sale. Is there that much difference between the 23s and the 24s? The nimbus lite 3s I have a really terrible Color selection for women.
I ran in the Nimbus Lite 1 and really like them - easily lasted 500 miles before I replaced them with the Novablast 2. Overall , great Z2 and Z3/tempo shoe that protects you well and lasts.
You sound like I did after my first few runs in the Nimbus Lite 2. It didn't last though. In less than 100 miles, they turned into bricks. Hopefully the 3 is better.
Did you run in the nimbus lite 2? Loved it and agree with epic react comparisons. Looks like the same shoe from last year except the new tongue and a more refined upper. Both good changes but if the midsole and feel are the same my be worth getting the 2 on discount instead.
I loved the 2s. However, I bought four pairs of them and has burned them all out. I don’t wanna buy another pair of the same color shield I’m just gonna go ahead and get the LITE 3s… But the color selection is terrible! At least for women, the ugliest available colors I’ve ever seen! It’s too bad that I would have to spend $160 or 180 with tax to have a big white pair of homely boats just bc they are comfortable. If the Nimbus 2s and numbus3s are essentially the same, I might have to wait for the threes to go on sale and just go ahead and buy the Nimbus 24s because at least they have a better color selection. I wonder how they compare to the Nimbus lights?
Man, I wish ASICS would make a 4-6 mm drop shoe that's similar to the Nimbus Lite - more on the traditional side of daily trainers. It's a shame that only the shoes with a rocker (Glideride, Evoride, Noosa Tri 13) have a lower drop. I can't run in higher drops / shoes with a rocker because of my knees and it's been keeping me away from ASICS. 😟
yep, same issue. that's why I'm a hoka guy now. i can get any of their shoes and know it's right in that drop range. and i don't care what people say, their shoes are comfy af. also can't road run in zero drops cause of achilles problems. but oddly my trail shoes are lone peak 5s and i have no issues 🤷🏻
Exact same thoughts running_joe92! Used to be an Asics guy and now have switched to Saucony (Kinvara, Ride etc.) for the time being because of their lower drop and traditional feel.
I love this shoe, currently running in V2. Other reviewers have mentioned the cost too, and I agree it's more expensive than I would have expected. Is this a result of the recycled material? Earth friendliness tends the cost more.
I suspect it has more to do with market positioning and strategy than it has to do with costs of production. but yes, much of the upper is recycled polyester and the midsole uses a less environmentally harsh process.
Listen to what Kofuzi says and do opposite if you are not a professional runner. Take Nimbus 24 instead of these. I remember a comparison between pegs and adizero sl when Kofuzi sad that adidas had made in the shoes what nike should have done. But when I was about to buy adizero sl instead of pegs I found out thet they are nothing but a pair of definitely light and cool looking but very firm bricks that were hurting my joints just walking in a store. I took Pegs. And I am glad.
Hi Ko, would it be good for a runner with moderate overpronation? Just wondering if this behaves like a Novablast 1 : super fancy and bouncy but definitely not for everybody. Thanks
Great content brother. One advice; currently using peagsus as a daily trainer. Wanted to get my first asics so should I get Gel kayano 28 / Nimbus 23/24 or nimbus lite 3. Please advice. Really confused
I ran in the Nimbus 22, which I totally forgot about when I made the Nimbus 24 video. I've also run in the GT-2000v8, Evoride, Magic Speed, and the Metaride, but I don't recall which foams they had.
This shoe is on my short-list but if there's anything I would have liked to have seen on the Nimbus lite 3 is a layer of tread. Not to do what HOKA has been doing for most of their shoes. Use the bottom of the midsole as the running serface. Shoes like this look unfinished and usually have lower longevity.
Since Nike has abandoned us outside of the Nike Zoom Fly 4, I’m interested that you say for those who loved the Epic React would love the Nimbus Lite 3. I wonder if the Kayano Lite 3 will be more like the Odyssey React or Lunarglide? One can dream. I’d pay full price for that. #bigbonedflatfootedrunner
The discontinuation of the Epic React is a decision I will never understand. Odyssey React was also a very good shoe. Every time I am disappointed in the latest Pegasus 38, I lament why they couldn't just revive the Odyssey React and call that the Pegasus.
Hey! If this is a light weight daily trainer with that stack height, why not the Puma Liberate Nitro? Which is even lighter, way better priced and has a bit more stack with a better midsole and outsole.
@@kofuzi interesting, that maybe because of the barebone upper that creates the illusion. I'd say run in both of them and compare for yourself. See how they feel.
Is it durable enough at least 1 year? new balance 1080v11 disappointed me about durability of running shoes since the upper ripped after 3 month on both pairs.
Nimbus lite 2 was my 1st Asics shoe that i have worn the outsole on the lateral side all the way to the foam after 300km. Very disappointed in that for the price. I will not buy the 3 as they look the same.
I promote slightly, does Kofuzi think the Lite 3 would offer enough support or better to opt for for the Nimbus 24 ? I like the idea of the more nimble, modern lite version.....
my best recommendation would be to go to a running store where you could try both on a treadmill. but if that's not an option, I think it may depend on just how much you pronate. the nimbus lite 3 has an extra section of rubber under the arch, which I think is there to help keep the shoe from collapsing medially. the nimbus 24 doesn't have it, but I think it's likely not necessary because of the trusstic system. so, if you pronate a little, nimbus lite 3 will probably still work. if you pronate moderately or a lot, I'd stick with the nimbus 24 or perhaps even wait for the next Kayano
I’ve never bought an ASICS shoe but I did try on the NoosaTri and the FujiLite trail shoe. (Women’s version of the Nimbus line with super high drops- 14mm-rule them out for me). What felt weird to me is the way the midsole roll geometry raises your toes before you even start running. It concerned me that it might mess up my mechanics the way the Vaporfly and other such shoes didn’t work for me, even though a key difference is that these ASICS models do at least let your foot flex. Has that bothered anyone?
I´ve been using the Noosa tri 13 for 300km now and i love it, works for both slow and fast paces as well. It´s my favorite shoe from my rotation. But everyone has different biomechanics and preferences..... i bought the Novablast and returned them after 2 runs, it just didn´t work for me.
