Makes me more excited to have it on my rotation. Awesome review. Thanks
The review I've been waiting for! Just solidified why I'm waiting for this shoe!
I definitely have to try this one out next. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism I truly appreciate it and love watching. Always Love, Brother Christopher. Peace☮️Love❤️&Happiness😃
Forget about the shoe, this channel has the best intro music ever!!! Love it
ASICS is my shoe company of the year. I love my glideride, nimbus, cumulus, and edge +. Can’t wait to get these.
I agree 💯. Between the Gel nimbus Lite, the Meta Speed Sky +, the Novablast 3, and the glide ride 3 Asics has just killed it this year. And there is still the Magic Speed 2 coming
I am so excited for this shoe. My Novablast 1 are still holding up fine and therefore skipped the 2s. Awesome video. Can’t wait to pick this one up!
I’ve got two pairs of version 2 and it is my favorite daily trainer. Perfect for longer runs at a slightly faster clip or when you need to push it. I never feel fatigued after wearing the Novablast. Can’t wait for version 3
@@tadejdanev5030 Yes, you can absolutely run an easier pace with these shoes as they are daily trainers. I just believe they work best pushing the pace a bit.
@@tadejdanev5030 I am just getting back into running and am thus very slow and out of shape. Taking it very easy to avoid injury. So my recovery pace is 11:30-12:00 min/mile, and easy pace is 10:30 to 11:00/mile. I'm even doing tempos Malmo-style, so marathon pace which is like 10:00-10:30 min/mile.
Those are all likely much slower speeds than you're running, and I love the Novablast 2 while running at all of this paces. Just did 2.5 miles this afternoon at recovery pace with the 2 and loved every minute. Not sure if any of this helps, but I hope it does!
@@broadneydangerfield yay US miles...wish whole world used 1 metric system and be done with differences :)
Love your videos !! I just got mine yesterday in grey with green sole , and took my first 5k today with them , I feel in love with these shoes instantly !
I love how honest you are in giving the disclosures.
An ASICS paid athlete reviewing an ASICS shoe, stating that is the shoe of the year…
Looking at others' reviews, as well as close friends who has this, Novablast 3 is very highly rated by them
I've always looked forward to your reviews of shoes before getting one. This review definitely helps me. Went to my running shoes store and tried it out and first feel was great, fit was nice and snug. Will go for my first run later. Hopefully will be as good as how it felt during the fitting.
Take my money, ASICS!! Can’t wait to get these. Thanks for the update, Mike!
Very nice, informative review (as always)! I love the Novablast and subsequently purchased multiple pairs to stagger alternate. I have got one pair that needs to be replaced (~500 miles)......and this latest version is going to be the lucky shoe.
I’m new to running and running everyday/ every other day. As a novice who’s never ran before and trying to running 5 miles a week or more is it necessary to stagger shoes
Glad to pick this shoe, seeing some great reviews from yt. I have no regrets buying it 😁
Very good video quality and production, thanks for making this. As someone who's new to the running shoe world there's so much I was doing wrong before including wearing the wrong size shoes altogether let alone the wrong shoes, thanks again 👍
I'm looking forward to this release!
Great review and insight. I will try these out.
Glad to see my primary workhorse is the shoes of the year 😎
I will say that once I switched to this from the endorphin line, my leg pains went away overall. The softness really does help for the training on hard surfaces and the hold up very well.
The negs that I’ve seen however is that they are sometimes too soft in longer runs, they get pretty poor traction on wet pavement, and they are noticeably slow when racing. Ex: I chose to wear them at my January Marathon ( because they felt good on my feet and didn’t cause blisters like the endorphin pro) and my average pace with the same RPE was down 17-23 seconds per mile.
Respect K for mentioning your involvement with ASICS and possibility of bias. I'm very happy with Mach 5 that I got recently and if not for the high prices of these shoes, I would've loved to try the Novablast 3.
Finally copped a pair. I love them! Made me realize how much more suited the Rebel V2 is for faster paces and shorter distances. Before getting the Nova 3, I loved the Rebel V2 but began to feel it in my feet and ankles over longer distances. The Nova 3s are pillows with the bounce to make faster paces a dream. Definitely my favorite shoe of all I've ever owned.
I'm really excited for these. I have two pairs of the Novablast 2, and I like them a lot. I'll be looking for the 3s when they wear out.
Also love the Team Struggle Run shirt. I'm a big fan of Mrs Space Cadet.
Nice review, nice videography. You're going to be one of my favourite yootubers. Keep it going!
I really can't wait for this shoe! I just put 300 miles on my Novablast 2 today. And it still feels great.
Just bought my first real pair of running shoes and, based on your recommendations over the last year or so, it's the Novablast 3. Picked it up for $90 and this review has me extremely excited about my purchase.
I bought my first pair of ASICS Novablast in March of 2020. It was my first pair of shoe that weren’t Brooks and it was the first shoe I saw SJD review (which has opened my eyes to the world of running CZcamsrs.) I used up that first Novablast putting 450 ish miles into them by the end of 2020. I shuffled around in a few other shoes, Hoka’s and other ASICS, but still yearned for a Novablast 2. Once I heard the Novablast 2 was coming out in summer 2021 I purchased the first pair I could get as quickly as possible. I put nearly 500 miles in those and as soon as they were retired I bought another pair of Novablast 2. Those are currently at the 350 mile mark but I am eager to get those to 500 so I can retire them respectfully and dive in to the Novablast 3. This shoe really made running exciting for me again and helped me get back out there either after recovering from injury or losing passion. For me this shoe really captures what ASICS stands for, a healthy mind in a healthy body. 🥰
Does this show run true to size? I’m a 12 in Brooks. Looking to pick this one up.
Great to see you on Fordy Runs 👍
wow loved the Novablast 2, i think 3 will be even better!
Sounds like this is “The Real MVP!” Great review 🤜🏾🤛🏻
I love, love, love the Novablast 1, I didn't get the 2nd version because it was similar to the first one. Novablast 3 looks like a beast, can't wait to go for a run in this.
Novablast 2 was tame and not as fun as 1st version but somehow that's the one all the reviewers liked. I hope version 3 gets that fun back.
@@mav3ric100 exactly!!! I thought I was the only one who liked loved V1 !
V2 not so much... eventually hardly used them and ended up in the donations box...
@@marieclairechahine5900 definitely you're not the the only one. But it seems we're in the minority because almost every shoe reviewer loved V2 better than V1. That's why I'm kind of worried most reviewers got this shoe early and love it as it was the opposite with V1.
After 100 miles review even before it's released lol. GOAT. Really can't wait for September!
The shoe looks phenomenal. I don't run on concrete, but I feel the urge to buy it just because of the looks.
they do a trail version now with more rubber on the sole, definitely worth a look!
Great review! Looking to buy this one!
I have been savings for this... Love my novablast 2, cant wait for this
Favorite shoe since the New Balance Vongo.
Still reaching for my Novablast 3s over my 4s, as long as they will last.
Loved the Novablast 2... can't wait for the 3.
It's 8/1 and you've already named your shoe of the year. That speaks volumes as to how much you love them! Definitely going to check them out when available. Thanks for another well done review, Mike!
I think the majority of new sneakers get released in the spring/summer so people can buy them before marathon season in the fall.
But I agree. Not saving for a year end list speaks volumes.
well he got an all expense paid by asics to test these shoes out so there's definitely bias.
@@pickle24 but you’re here for a reason . So you heard something about this shoe and ended up here.
Just bought a pair online. Can't wait for them to arrive!
Hi kofuzi, I have been waiting for this review since new model images leaked on internet, it great to confirm it still is a great running shoes, I can’t wait to watch the review on the new magic speed, so I can make a choice between novablast3 or the magic speed 2 for my next shoe investment, 👍
Wow. It's only August 1… shoe of they year already?🎤drop. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥
Just got the platinum version and im in love. The colourway is also fantastic
@@xvandamagex lots of running to do in randland might as well somthing good while fighting the Dark one😎
Ran in the Novablast 2 last year. It lasted 500 miles for me and still felt like it had life. I've had great success with Asics shoes lasting for many miles. The Noosa Tri 13 got to 425 miles and I'm at 400 miles in the Fuji Lite 2 with next to no wear on the outsole. Can't wait for the Novablast 3 to come out. It's going to be my shoe when I begin training for my spring marathon.
Can't wait to get my hand on the Novablast 3... Currently the Novablast 2 is my go-to daily trainer and I love it.
Me too!! I may break down and get V3 to run my October marathon...
I appreciate your transparency. That said really superb analysis, I’ve always enjoyed your Running videos‼️ Couple things that I was listening for that you didn’t mention was, what does this shoe compare to? Any other models we could compare it to? Also is it a carbon plated shoe I didn’t hear you say that and it doesn’t look like it is but didn’t know if it was?? Good vid man‼️👌🏼
Been enjoying the version 2 so much, can't wait for the 3 to be available, it really is suitable for any type of footwork, I use it for long walks as well as running.
Needs more reviews but so far sounds good. Hopefully ver1 is back with even more bounce
I actually still use my novablast 1 which have 750+ miles on them. I know I shouldn't use it anymore but surprisingly the foam is still amazing and the upper has a little hole in it but is still holding up amazingly well. I'm definely excited to get the novablast 3 when it releases
@@zynaryzaidi7883 the rubber outsole if fine, of course there is less grip on certain areas based on my stride but overall its actually much better than you would expect from a shoe with so many miles on it
That seems to be a concerning amount of miles. Perhaps time for new pair?
after many brands...i recently discovered asics lol, my feet finally stopped hurting omg. i will stay loyal to this brand. i bought 2 nimbus 23 last december and nimbus 24 feb. i will buy this one once its out.
Wow‼️‼️✌🏼 Nice to see ASICS pULL out a major PRODUCT WIN‼️
Update: I pulled the trigger Ko after all and put the Novoblast 3 on pre-order, I just love the V2 so much. I have decided to make this my marathon shoe choice for my Long Beach Marathon since their is a lot of cement surface. I am choosing comfort over my plated shoes this time around. Thanks for your enthusiasm expressed in this video.
All right, you got me. Just ordered a pair.
Hi Mike, since the FFBlast came out, i been in love with it, Novablast 1 has been my long run shoe for quite a while and with almost 1000km on them they still hold very well. I got the Novabalst 2 at a great price deal a week ago and been walking with them on road for the break in. As a coment on the trampoline area you had, i run only/very majorly on roads (asphalt) and the foam arround that area gets like yours, even the Novablast 2 that is new and only walked and few strides shows more signals of worn on that area, on the rest the FFblast looks like new.
@Matt Rigg I edited those thank you, by scratch I mean the worn the road causes on the foam arround the rubber isle aka trampoline area
bold statement 🙌 I'll definitely buy it
Just got mine yesterday and took it for a short 5k run, why am I waited for so long to get this one until now? A new sensation switching from wearing Nimbus (19~25) to Novablast3, It is definitely a right choice ! And thanks to your review along the years! Happy CYN!
I bought the first version and did 817km with them, I think they can probably go another 100km. I absolutely loved them so I am definitely getting this 3rd version.
Same for the Novablast 2.. passed 800km and looks like it could last at least another 100k if not more.
I as well have recently retired Novablast v1 after 800km. It's still capable, but definitely has lost a lot of spring.
I believe you...and do not even need to watch but ...will do so~ Enjoyed the video.
I absolutely cannot wait to purchase a pair! Great video Sir!
I was waiting for this review since last 3 months... Finally... 😀
Yes, I always consider your thought and make my perception.
Also you are working with Asics is amazing...
I love that colorway so much
This video editing was awesome. Love showing a trail later in the video every time you mention one, helps keep my attention lol. Did you have any bunching or wrinkling on the mesh near your toes? My version 2 has some weird creases near my big toe and is my only complaint as I can feel it.
Idk if anyone noticed, but the general quality of the videos has gone up quite significantly. Choice of music, shots, editing, voice recording quality and general cinematography. Kudos if you’re still doing all of it yourself!!
I have been taking the time to make fewer videos per week. thank you for the feedback
Currently have mine at 200 miles!
Set a PR in my half marathon in these too
Really love the ride and the transition quality as a cadence style runner
I pair these with my Magic Speed 2 in my rotation,
My longer runs I defer more to the NB3, and even faster paces on my long runs too
The MS2 is my tempo-threshold repeat session trainer, hit some of my fastest times in these
Just when I thought deciding between the Speed 3 and Mach 5 for my next daily trainer was hard enough…now I have to throw this into the ring. Seems like there’s some great versatile choices out there.
This seems to be closer to the Ride 15 rather than Speed 3. If you use Speeds as daily trainers the Speed 3 is probably your best pick as it's lighter.
You can daily train in Speed? My experience with Speed 1 is its very unstable for daily training pace.
Never used the speeds before but my half marathon training program is full of varied runs. Easy, tempo, interval so for me that’s between 5:30km-4:05km. Just need something that can do a bit of everything. Basing my choices off the reviews I’ve watched/read, the speed 3’s sound more stable and more forgiving than previous iterations but again I’ve not tried them yet. Currently using Mach 4’s but not sure how much life is left in them.
@@notall1196 read good things about that model but not sure if I’d pull off the colour ways 🤣 might be worth a try though 👍🏼
Wow. Just to think that our brave, forefather pioneers used to wear those babies for miles across mountains and seas.
Such majestic shoes!
I just ordered for 95$, all black. Im excited to try them and the price i guess was superb ! Cheers
With that Fi-yah color way……how could it NOT be? Can’t wait to cop’em!
Take my money now ASICS! Can’t wait!
I have still yet to get a pair of Novablasts after multiple years of praise from most reviewers. Digging my NB SC Trainers right now...should make the move though at some point
that was a VERY serious run! also, a review after 100 miles? its like you've actually used them. 😆
Considering that we’re only at august 1st and that the NB3 is releasing soon, I’m going to take your advice and consider the bias in this review. Still looking forwards to trying them out though!
I got the nimbus 24s earlier this year but the positive reviews on the novablast 3 are too hard to ignore
I have owned this shoes in my collection. What a fantastic shoes. 😎
Novablast 1 was really good - I had mine for over 1200km and I used it for everything. As I was about to retire the first pair and wanted to get a second - dam it was out of stock in my country. Got another pair from Amazon but weirdly they didn't feel the same like my first. Then I got the Novablast 2 from the retail store and it was disappointing for me. It felt so heavy (+20g) and stiff. The heel grip was better but added plush which felt very warm in the hot and humid climate. I could use Novablast 1 for all types of runs (easy, speed, long) but not the Novablast 2 which I only use for my easy runs now. Novablast 2 LE (light edition) was recently released so I am undecided between 2 LE or 3 now.
I'm still using first version. I bought 2 pairs of the black / orange which look absolutely beautiful and one of the sets still hasn't been taken out of the box.
I am really looking forward to the Novablast 3. I just need to wear out a couple of pairs of other shoes first 😂
I usually tell my wife, "oh look I've already run 300 miles in this pair, time to buy a new one!"
Hmmm... I thought I was pretty much set with daily trainers with the Endorphin Speed 3 and the Mach 5 but I guess not! Always room for more in the rotation. Very much looking forward to this.😃
Oriok, curious if you picked up the Novablast 3 and how it compares to your Endorphin Speed 3. My all time favorite shoe is the original Speed. Tho I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Speed 3
@@carlosangalang Hey Carlo, yes, I got the Novablast 3 early this week and have already put in over 35 miles on it. I really love it and can concur that it lives up to the hype - for me. I understand that it's not going to appeal to *everybody*.
The NB3 is softer, bouncier, and a little more laid back than the Speed 3 but all in a good way. You can still pick up the pace on the NB3 and it has no problem keeping up. I think the speed/tempo portion comes a little more effortlessly on the Speed 3. It propels you forward a little more than the NB3.
In no way does the NB3 "replace" the Speed 3 or the Mach 5. They all have their own differently good "flavors" and feel. I haven't run in the Speed 3 this week as I was busy getting familiar with the NB3 but I plan to give Speed 3 a run again soon.
I know that the Speed 3 didn't work out for Kofuzi and I understand. Every shoe fits different people differently and no single shoe will work out for everyone. I love the NB3 and the Speed 3. These are my top two shoes now and they will get the bulk of my miles although I'm always on the lookout for something else to add! :)
@@alexkhan2000 Thanks for sharing your experience so far with the Novablast 3! I put in an order for it and I'm excited to get it soon
This one is a definite purchase. Appreciate the early, thorough review! On another note, my wife wants to know when the shirt you're wearing will be available in the store. We're ready to buy two immediately lol.
Edit: I see where to get the shirt and that you don't sell them, but someone else does. Noted!
Coincidentally bought a discounted pair of Novablast 2 literally 10 mins before this video was released . Hopefully I can get the Novablast 3 discounted next year too. :D
@@gbaker125 they’ve been on discount on Asics w3bs1te for a long time mate so most are out of stock but you can check
@@danneh8777 Ah you must not be in the US, they aren't discounted on any site that I've seen
@@gbaker125 yeah I'm in Australia. Bought them for $169 AUD, which sounds expensive but considering conversion rates and the fact that everything is expensive in Australia, it's not too bad.
I run 10miles+ everyday, usually switching between two active shoes in one given period. Novablast 3 is just so nice that I have to resist to get them on everyday, otherwise my other pair will stay unused forever. Ones I compare is Clifton 8, adizero, fresh foam 880 / 1280 ...
Yeah, pre-ordered, you convinced me. ;)
No bias detected 😊 Safe to say it's a damn good shoe 🌞
i have them and i like them very much. only problem is with wet road. besides that, fantastic.
I have the NB2 and the overall experience is good. The one thing I noticed and wasn't sure if this is still noticeable in the Version 3 is I feel the rubber protruding a bit under the ball of my foot. I also noticed the Ginger Runner mentioned the same thing, so I was just curious if you noticed it as well in the V3 as I was thinking about picking up a pari. Thank you in advance.
As a Novablast V1 owner that had to stop using the shoe due to stability reasons, after transitioning to a standing desk for 2 months, I took the Novablast V1 (400+ KM) out for a few recent runs and even my 20KM long run this past weekend and it wasn't the shoe. It was me. Transitioning from sitting all day to standing has been the #1 improvement for my running health. Hip flexor issues gone, sporactic ITband flare ups gone, strength and stability in the lower leg chain seem night and day to a few months ago. Really looking for ward to snagging a pair of Novablast V3 in the fall to eat through daily miles.
Great review. I’ve just retired my Novablast 2s after 1025kms. The upper and the ankle collar has had enough lol. Only this and Endorphin Speeds have been able to take this level of kms for me. Definitely picking up the 3s when they come out next month. In the meantime, I may have to train in my dedicated race shoes, or just tack on a few more kms, though the midsole has definitely fallen off from new. AHAR outsole though, is insanely durable!
Nice. My first pair is still going strong, and I have 2 more waiting to be unleashed. Looks like it’ll be a while before I get my hands on the version 3.
I'm so jealous with people with neutral foot, you guys got to wear a lot of cool shoes.
How does this compare to the New Balance 1080 in terms of being good for running and working out? Love your videos thanks
Good morning😊 thanks for all your reviews, amazing channel. Would you recommend this shoes for heavy runners? 🤔 I am a 210 lbs runner.
Yo Kofuzi! Thanks for the review! I have wide feet, do you feel these are wide enough and wouldn’t cause too much tightness in the forefoot? I don’t see that they sell them in wide sizes and the Gel-Nimbus are no longer feeling soft enough for me as my mileage increases.
Just sharing for those interested as I believe many have similar concerns as mine....biggest drawback(s) i come across is folks complaining that it is rather slippery in the wet, and perhaps that it is just AHAR outsole and not tAHAR+. We do get a fair number of rainy days here (it's actually raining now) and was my concern. Bought the TR and am glad to share that there are no issues cornering 90 deg in ~ 3m radius @ 10kmh, on wet outdoor tiles, tried many times already like around 100+ corners due to usual place that i usually run at. The thicker AHAR outsole also makes it a good value shoe for the mileage that you can squeeze out of it (i got it at usd 120). Also, my wife and I could not feel any weight difference between the 2 with holding both versions in our hands at the same time in the store. With that said, i don't run on mud and it probably is not a serious trail shoe. Not a pro runner too.
this year is not over
Love this review. Can you review magic speed 2? Maybe vs saukony speed 3?
What an exciting update Mike! Due to past purchases, I have to sit this year out but I will get back in the shoe game. Currently my favorite daily trainer is my V2's. Thanks for the review.
