    The durometer is a brilliant idea. Review only based on one 'feel' might be too subjective to understand to average runner. At least with this equipment, we can gauge how much 'softer'/'stiffer' one shoe to another with little more perspective. Love it!

      @over1498 Před 2 lety

      True true, hokas feel way squishier than they are because it's like a little bathtub for your feet.
      Durometer reading is 🔥 and will probably result in companies making some wildly squishy shoes just to be the king 🤣

    Favorite month? It´s a cinch: OCTOBER. Still plenty warm, and yes the foliage is beautiful. But for me (if runner-egoistic!), there´s a certain smell in the air when leaves rustle drier and folks turn in for winter. For me, it always signals emptier trails, which is beautiful, because that portends winter snow and even quieter runways! Rock/solitude on!

    Definitely May!!! The days are getting longer, flowers in bloom and the promise of summer coming!! Plus here in France there are heaps of public holidays in May so we get lots of long weekends, or sometimes even extra long weekends depending on the year. I feel my most motivated to go running in the spring, and no insects yet!! Still thoroughly enjoying my Nimbus Lite 2 which is turning out to be very long wearing indeed... I particularly love the wide stable outsole.

    GREAT lockdown! 600+ miles durability!Score for those categories? 7/10. What’s a 10? 2000 mile durability? I’ve seen shoes rated 8/10 after saying 400 miles durability. I love this dude and his vibe and videos but his scoring just seems to be consistently all over the place for shoe reviews and I have to keep reminding myself if his height and weight and how that absolutely affects how shoes ride for him

    Nice review!
    I bought the Nimbus Gel Nimbus Lite 2 last week on sale and have been loving it for long run. The grip on light snow and wet surfaces are amazing.
    October in Montreal is the best month to run, cool temperatures but no snow, close to no insects, great colors.

    Why not talk about who the shoe would work for rather than dismissing it outright because it doesn’t work for you personally? I think these reviews could stand to be less subjective to one person’s running form and style. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

    • @ChristianRunsNY
      @ChristianRunsNY Před 2 lety +3

      I would love that too, but to be fair, how would he know if the shoe would work for me, 100 lbs heavier than Seth? That's why I think it's more important to talk about yourself as the reviewer and why you like it, and viewers can take the info away knowing if that is similar to them or not, without a reviewer just guessing which group it is best for. That's just my take, I could never say how a shoe would work for someone shorter and much lighter, you know?

    QD: October. Growing up in Indiana, October was the beginning of all the fall festivals, harvest time, and really the kick off to the holiday season. The crisp, clean air in the morning, the colors of the tree leaves start changing. It has a special feeling to me.
    Also, it’s hard to justify Asics making this shoe at this price point when the Novablast is cheaper, more versatile, and equally as durable… did I mention cheaper?

  • @levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183

    Seth, you should probably mention the women's drop in ASICS since in some of their lines there’s a significant and deal-breaking difference. In the Nimbus, eg, they have a 14 mm drop! I wouldn’t consider it for that reason alone. An option is to try on the men's version in the equivalent size. I wish they wouldn’t do that!!🤬Martha

    • @DeeGee69
      @DeeGee69 Před 2 lety +1

      I checked the women's version and it has a really thick insole in the Gel Nimbus Lite 2. That may explain the additional drop and inserting a thinner insole would definitely lower the drop... worth checking in store.

  • @pj8761
    @pj8761 Před 2 lety

    As far as the price, yes $160 is a lot. Not saying anything good or bad about the shoe, as I have yet to run in it, but I think it's more like a $125-$130 shoe. As far as why $160, my theory is simple. Last year's Nimbus was $150, and Asics are claiming big improvements with the new model. So they increase it to $160. The Nimbus lite isn't less expensive because they don't want customers to think that it's "less" of a shoe than the regular Nimbus 24; thus BOTH cost $160. I think it's all just sales and marketing, not design and technology based. Simply follow the $.
