The durometer is a brilliant idea. Review only based on one 'feel' might be too subjective to understand to average runner. At least with this equipment, we can gauge how much 'softer'/'stiffer' one shoe to another with little more perspective. Love it!
True true, hokas feel way squishier than they are because it's like a little bathtub for your feet.
Durometer reading is đĽ and will probably result in companies making some wildly squishy shoes just to be the king đ¤Ł
Favorite month? It´s a cinch: OCTOBER. Still plenty warm, and yes the foliage is beautiful. But for me (if runner-egoistic!), there´s a certain smell in the air when leaves rustle drier and folks turn in for winter. For me, it always signals emptier trails, which is beautiful, because that portends winter snow and even quieter runways! Rock/solitude on!
I love the new nimbus lite 3. I use it as a soft and comfortable recovery day shoe.
Definitely May!!! The days are getting longer, flowers in bloom and the promise of summer coming!! Plus here in France there are heaps of public holidays in May so we get lots of long weekends, or sometimes even extra long weekends depending on the year. I feel my most motivated to go running in the spring, and no insects yet!! Still thoroughly enjoying my Nimbus Lite 2 which is turning out to be very long wearing indeed... I particularly love the wide stable outsole.
GREAT lockdown! 600+ miles durability!Score for those categories? 7/10. Whatâs a 10? 2000 mile durability? Iâve seen shoes rated 8/10 after saying 400 miles durability. I love this dude and his vibe and videos but his scoring just seems to be consistently all over the place for shoe reviews and I have to keep reminding myself if his height and weight and how that absolutely affects how shoes ride for him
Nice review!
I bought the Nimbus Gel Nimbus Lite 2 last week on sale and have been loving it for long run. The grip on light snow and wet surfaces are amazing.
October in Montreal is the best month to run, cool temperatures but no snow, close to no insects, great colors.
July! I am probably in the minority but I love training in the heat! I also love celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends!
Why not talk about who the shoe would work for rather than dismissing it outright because it doesnât work for you personally? I think these reviews could stand to be less subjective to one personâs running form and style. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
I would love that too, but to be fair, how would he know if the shoe would work for me, 100 lbs heavier than Seth? That's why I think it's more important to talk about yourself as the reviewer and why you like it, and viewers can take the info away knowing if that is similar to them or not, without a reviewer just guessing which group it is best for. That's just my take, I could never say how a shoe would work for someone shorter and much lighter, you know?
@@ChristianRunsNY Running warehouse manage to review shoes and say who they would be good for just fine. Not hard.
@@matthewledvina8323 They have many testers, not one individual.
@@ChristianRunsNY not interested in bickering. This is my opinion. Thanks.
@@matthewledvina8323 Running warehouse is a shoe store. If they dismiss a shoe they sell, who would buy them? đ
May is my favourite
Weather warm enough,so Iâm able to wear just shorts, plus not many flies around at that time of the year .Nothing worse doing speed work and on ea h recover the flies Swarm around your head
Itâs started to get dark later,so can run later at night instead of rushing my work out before it gets dark.
QD: October. Growing up in Indiana, October was the beginning of all the fall festivals, harvest time, and really the kick off to the holiday season. The crisp, clean air in the morning, the colors of the tree leaves start changing. It has a special feeling to me.
Also, itâs hard to justify Asics making this shoe at this price point when the Novablast is cheaper, more versatile, and equally as durable⌠did I mention cheaper?
I use to go to that festival in brown county
Seth, you should probably mention the women's drop in ASICS since in some of their lines thereâs a significant and deal-breaking difference. In the Nimbus, eg, they have a 14 mm drop! I wouldnât consider it for that reason alone. An option is to try on the men's version in the equivalent size. I wish they wouldnât do that!!đ¤ŹMartha
I checked the women's version and it has a really thick insole in the Gel Nimbus Lite 2. That may explain the additional drop and inserting a thinner insole would definitely lower the drop... worth checking in store.
@@DeeGee69 Thanks, thatâs interesting and a call to the company might also clarify that.
QD: Generally Iâd say June because Iâm a grad student and get summers off! As for running, October might be the best here in the northeast. You really start to feel the benefits of hot summer training during those cool October runs.
Definitely October. Spooky season starts, and it gets nice and cool!
Love the look of the shoe, I think asic says it's a knitted tongue and also may have gel pockets in the rear and forefoot!
Excited about the Durometer, it will be great if you can have the data of the running shoes you have tested in your website for us to reffer..
April/may; temperature is nice, the days are long(er), nature is fresh green and the birds are migrating so out the door and seek the beauty. either while walking or running or on my bike. Can't wait for spring to arrive.
January. Dry season at its peak in CR. Love windy, sunny weather.
QD: October. The cool weather and the foliage.
Me too! And it's my birthday month!
QD: In NYC, it's May. Days are longer, pleasant temps/low humidity, Central Park is finally green, spring has arrived. AND, it is the month post-Boston (and far from Fall Marathons), so I can run for fun without crazy training mileage.
Seth I could watch a whole video of you checking durometer from top 2021 shoes (Novablast, Invincible, Rebel V2 etc)
definitely October. Weather is usually perfect. Here in the Midwest we have brutal winter and summer temps.
QD - summer hands down give me all the heat and humidity, I live in upstate NY and we have some brutal winters. Not only do I perform better in heat it's much easier to dress, dressing for cold NY weather tends to be difficult. Summer is easy, just wear your shorts shoes and socks lol
:QD: September âŚ. Love the crisp fresh mornings and the fall colors. The smells of fall rock too! đ
Great review! My favorite shoe.
Excited for the nimbus 24 review. It feels nice underfoot.
QD: December. Serving in Pakistan itâs the one month of the year I get to go back home to see my family. The month is full of holiday excitement and expectation.
Would you add a sustainability score to full reviews? I know itâs not a shoe performance issue but then neither is the price point and I think more and more runners are making these issues are consideration. Ahead of the curve - itâs the future. DGR Strong đââď¸
I just can see you testing durometer on shoes all day.
QOD:July, dead center of the summer and usually the warmest and nicest weather of year here in central NY. Iâm a summer guy what can I say, donât like being cold at all.
QD: I like May because it stops being cold but it hasn't gotten hot yet. Sometimes it's a little wet but that doesn't bother me
QD: October. Simply the best in the Northeast with running, weather, colors, and just the feeling of Fall.
For running I like October.
Wich Asics shoes would you guys recommend for Long run ? Iâm excited about the full review of Gel Nimbus 24 . Thank you
Wait for a Glideride new version to come out. Glideride is the best shoe I ever had for long runs an I ran in maaaany differente nike, nb, adidas and hoka long-run shoe; it just eat miles!
@@lvalday thank you so much
I used the original Gel-Nimbus lite 1 for 500 miles - so definitely sturdy. Since then, Iâve been running in Novablast 2 - and canât imagine why someone would pay $30 more for the gel nimbus lite 3.
Stability. Novablast for some is a squish fest.
Wonder if greener technology drives the price up some ? Love the white color way might get these for some good miles then ability to look good enough to wear when not running is a plus. Spring is prettiest here in the north west valleys. I love April here as flowers start bursting everywhere but still snow capped mountains make the beauty just astonishing for valley runs :-)
Best looking white shoes
Just a heads up, Running Warehouse told me they do not expect to have the Asics Gel Nimbus Lite 3 in stock until March 1st (they were supposed to get it in January)
Seth it really is so wonderfull to run out in the midlle of the road oh these coronatimes isnt so bad for everything - are they........Smiling to You. Inga DK.
I have a pair of the Nimbus Lite 2, and like them a lot. Where was the difference between the 2 & 3 for you? I had intended to pick up a pair when my 2s are done, but I'm not so sure now. Actually, I got the 2s for my long runs but recently I have been doing these in the second pair of my Endorphin Speed 1.
I was going to buy these but I'm now hyped for ZoomX Streakfly.
I would read / watch some other reviews on the shoe.
All the months, I live in the Tropics, Summer like weather ALL YEAR LONG
With price again it will be cheaper than most hoka shoes in Australia. Unless you get a pair of hoka on sale
As far as the price, yes $160 is a lot. Not saying anything good or bad about the shoe, as I have yet to run in it, but I think it's more like a $125-$130 shoe. As far as why $160, my theory is simple. Last year's Nimbus was $150, and Asics are claiming big improvements with the new model. So they increase it to $160. The Nimbus lite isn't less expensive because they don't want customers to think that it's "less" of a shoe than the regular Nimbus 24; thus BOTH cost $160. I think it's all just sales and marketing, not design and technology based. Simply follow the $.
Nice touch of you to sing the French national anthem to introduce the durometer (were you conscious of singing it? ^^)
(I'm French by the way)
Better score than the Prime X? Big lol.
QD: June is brightest month in Finland and usually there's nice chilly mornings for running.
Is it good for heel striking too?
Do you think you will go back and test the durometer on recent previous shoes?
Not sure left shoe or right shoe matters⌠take an average if they differ?
Isnât October the best month in the most places for running? Born out by the comments already here! Martha
Those stack height numbers have to be low
Seth we need to Nimbus 24 review
some of my favorite shoes are Asics (DS lite weight trainer) but they have a lot of shoes cheap shoes for the masses (that I would never buy).
Make sure you donât test the softness if the Takumi Sen 8! (Touched it and put it back). Last thing we need is a good comment on an Adidas shoe.
đ¤Łđ¤Ł
QD: April because spring arrives, everything is turning green, the birds come back, the flowers start blooming
QD I would have to say May is my favourite month. The month I got married, the new Spring time growth, the anticipation of beach days, the month for the Boyne Book it Fun Run here in my town of Carman, MB đ¨đŚ, more trail and road races and of course shedding the layers of Winter 𼜠running .
Canât do all white shoes. Iâm old, but not that old.
đđź
QD: August. Still summer and college football begins
Where are the wide and extra-wide versions of this shoe? Wtf?
I have this shoes and love it. But I have to say it feels and looks like sketchers shoes.
QD: May, my birthday's month and beginning of Summer đ
25mm and 15mm!!
@8:36 đ.
i think its all going down to marketing, to give a ridiculous price to the shoe that everyone is talking about the brand now
First
Seth, the tongue is stretchy
Second
Third
QD: why does the LetsRun community hate on you so much?
