Hey folks! I hope you enjoyed today's video! Though it should be obvious, Nintendo naturally hasn't announced anything, with their soonest chance probably being the May 7th financial meeting. This confirmation is merely about the hardware existing at all, something that has mostly been rumored and hinted at, including by Nintendo as far back as 2021. Today, a hiring post arrived on our doorstep from an indie developer specifically hiring a lead programmer for a brand new project specifically for Nintendo's "next generation hardware". This is a factual thing, and not a rumor. This implies a few things.
1. Dev kits are starting to be distributed to indie developers, something that typically happens within a year of a systems launch.
2. A company is hiring for next-generation development only (the hiring post is JUST for Switch 2)
3. This all just confirms the system exists. That's it.
It is not naturally, the most exciting news - more confirmations that something we all know exists... exists. But it does give us an idea that the system must be happening, at least.
So what now? Well, beyond specific game leaks, we're kind of twiddling our thumbs waiting on Nintendo to announce the system, hopefully this summer. It's always possible once mass manufacturing begins we get leaks from the factory, but I would be willing to bet the system will be announced before then.

@ThePoppinGamer I’m glad! Most of us assumed the system has existed since Nintendo’s 2021 hint, making this news bit less exciting for some. But for those who maybe doubted, this certainly helps solidify its coming eventually.

Well if someone didn't think a new console is on the way might be surprised by this information, but for me I thought it was some more concrete information of the new console.

Indie devs getting dev kits only solidifies that it’s coming in spring next year, it’s like we’re back in January when it was supposed to be late 2024 and rumors were just pouring in as Nintendo’s plans moved further along
Due to the rumors pointing to the switch 2 console being pushed to early next year NP. I'm taking anything switch 2 related rumors leaks and latest information like a grain of salt 🧂. Nintendo didn't announce the switch 2 console yet. Nintendo didn't drop the prices for their current switch consoles already on the market yet. I'm hyping responsibly until Nintendo officially announces the switch 2.
Keep in mind, this isn't an "announcement" - that's what we're all waiting on. This is just further confirmation of it's existence that isn't about a rumor. This is something factually occurring that just furthers the proof that the system exists at all. Nintendo however, has to announce it it still, show us what it is, and let us know when it's coming.
Rumors around that stuff to me, are more exciting then reports that show it exists - which is important - but unfortunately doesn't tell us much.

Games on the switch are like the corporatized pay to play games in the google play store for android. I rather have Nintendo invest in making games like they did in the 90s but with today’s graphics.

Nothing is confirmed yet for switch 2 yet and nintendo isn't even going to gamescom. There hasn't even been an April direct announcement.

Video: Shows proof that a game developer is hiring someone specifically to make a game for just the Nintendo Switch 2 (and they are hiring right now).
Conclusion: Can't hire someone to do a job, if the the thing they are trying to do the job for doesn't exist. Ergo, the fact they are hiring for the platform, indicates the platform does exist and is on the way.
No lies. Did the headline say "Nintendo Switch 2 is finally revealed!"? How about "Nintendo Announces their next system"? How about ANY indication Nintendo did anyuthing?
Title promised a confirmation that a new system is coming. It then shows direct non rumor facts, that said system is coming.
That's not a lie. It's not even a truth disguised in a misleading way. It's just a literal fact.

An indie developer has yet to hire a programmer for their game and you think Nintendo is just going to send them a dev kit? If Nintendo were casually throwing dev kits to indie developers who don't even have a fully functioning game, switch 2 dev-kits would have been leaked everywhere . This is clearly just a developer who's stating they want to release their game for switch 2. When using Unreal engine 5 you don't need a console dev kit up until the last stages of development.

@@TylersGamingHub It's not really a leak, either. It's a publicly available hiring post that is specifically hiring a lead programmer for a game being made for Nintendo's next-generation hardware. I am sure Nintendo doesn't like that companies are advertising positions like this for it, but they also can't stop it because they are a business and need to do what they need to do for their business.

Official statement from Nintendo:
We here at Nintendo believe that there's no reason to release the Switch 2. Mainly because it sounds like a Sony product. When was the last time we released a system followed with a number on it?
Not confirmation then, means nothing at all, no one thought no Switch 2 was on the way, just no,one knows when it’ll launch. This is nothing new.

Nintendo is probably going to reveal their next hardware around Summer-Fall of 2024.
Once Nintendo revealed their next hardware around Summer-Fall of 2024, then Nintendo is going to release the next-gen Nintendo console around early 2025.
God, I hope the next-gen Nintendo console gets involved with backwards compatibility, cross-gen games, Mii Maker/Plaza, Mii-Verse (even though I've never been into Mii-Verse, I've heard most people say Mii-Verse is awesome, and it'll be awesome if Nintendo decides to bring back the Miiverse for the next-gen Nintendo console), free online service, background music (for both startup/main menu and E-Shop theme), customizable background theme (including the music), increased frame-rates/performance/storage space, stylized graphics/UI, better battery-life, StreetPass, and last but not least, functional amiibo support.
The three things I'm worried about for the next-gen Nintendo console is Denuvo/DRM crap, lack of backwards compatibility, and digital only console.
God, I hope Nintendo doesn't reject physical games in the future, and I hope that the next-gen Nintendo console isn't the last physical system.
Also, I hope Nintendo gets involved with Godot for the next-gen Nintendo console.

The real reason why Nintendo is being silent all this time ⏲. #1 Nintendo first party games for the switch 2 are not ready yet. #2 Nintendo is probably scrambling to get a current switch games line up for the rest of this physical year. #3 Due to the Japanese Yen being really weak right now. Nintendo is bidding their time ⏲ and waiting for the Japanese Yen to improve.
