We've reviewed the original Hyperion Pro Joy-Con by NYXI and weren't overly happy with the strange Green colour choice but that changes here with the release of the new purple colourway!

The green isn’t my favorite color but it’s grown on me, especially when I turn the RGBs to yellow or red. The color just pops. The controller is by far my favorite on the switch. It just fits perfectly on the switch and the ergonomics is amazing for adult hands
That fancy new bridge still doesn't charge both halves simultaneously though! They even released a charging bridge for the Wizard controllers this Christmas too. I just don't get the design oversight.
I’ve had the green Hyperion Pro for about month now. The analog sticks are fantastic. I have two problems with the controller: (1) when using the D-pad, it’s *very* easy to accidentally activate the turbo button (I often accidentally press it with the middle of my thumb while hitting “down” on the d-pad, which puts an inadvertent turbo function on the down button until I deactivate it); (2) if I’m holding the controller very intensely (such as during difficult sections of games), the pressure causes the controller to make a cracking sound and flex a bit - quite concerning, but hasn’t seemed to damage anything yet! 😅
Totally agree about the D-pad difference between the two colors.
I just got the purple set and the buttons feel a bit better on this one, especially the triggers and D-pad. It's still clicky, but not nearly as hard to press. Maybe it's just mine, but my green one was inconsistent with the feel of the buttons.
I tried hard to look pass the green on the green one, but I couldn’t. I don’t understand why We can’t just get a regular black one.. Everybody’s not trying to have a conversation starter every time I’m playing my Switch in public.. I ended up with the Nexigo Gripcon (gen 3) and I think I came out better in the end.
YES. It’s so annoying and I just don’t understand what sad sack of shit is buying the ugly colored plastic shit being produced that makes companies continue to produce them over black. It’s hardly ever large companies producing the ugly colorful crap either though. I find it to usually be Chinese knock off bullshit that is unique/niche in function but ugly af in color.
Got the purple ones, love them, the MR button on my unit is sticky/doesn’t always trigger, but I reached out to NYXI and they’re working on a replacement, other than that 10/10
I got the same ones with the same issue. Just reached out to Nyxi right now and I'm waiting on a response. Overall, I have to say I really like these, despite the issue.

I really want to try these, but I hate the feeling of the joycons bending while holding the whole thing, and I imagine these will feel the same. I own the kiwihome case with the 4 game storage in the back and that one feels sturdy. If I decide to get these, for the d-pad, I would have no use for my kiwihome case. 1st world problems lol!

Dilemma..i really really like the green one but cant stand bad D-pads...do you have any idea if they have since upgraded the green model to be in line with their other newer colors?

That green looks exactly the same as the Power A controller I bought a few years ago. It even had the same D-Pad. Weird!
I want one of these but I wish these would have a toggle to turn them on/off so they don't use power when moving around in my edc bag. I've only seem this on the Power A controller with the changeable face plates & the 8bitdo ultimate controllers.
How does it compare to the hori splitpad pro?

AFAIK Green was first, followed by purple, then followed by black and white simultaneously.
I have the green ones but I had to stop using them because the sticks are just way too slippery. The only way to make these usable for me was by using some Skull & Co stick caps, but it ruined the look for me. It's a shame, because everything else about the controller felt pretty high quality.
Any case recomendation for this with switch ?
Hey I have a question, i have the OG Hyperion and I LOVE the way the buttons feel especially the face buttons I was just wondering scince i was thinking about upgrading to the Hyperion pro is there and difference in terms of the feel of the buttons compared to the OG?

I only have this purple version, I like the D-pad and I was confused when watching reviews of the green colorway. Maybe they did improve the D-pad in some way

Allegedly. In his review of the green model, he stated that they can indeed be separated and used independently like the JoyCons, although I have yet to see this feature demonstrated during gameplay.
I felt the same way but the green has grown on me.
So one could buy thumb stick caps and put them on this right? Has anyone done this? Is so can uou recommend a product?
Has anyone tried the black or white Hyperion pros that are out now? I’m debating between buying the Hyperion pros or the qrd stellar t5 , but I can’t decide which one to go with for sure. I’d buy the Mobapads but $80 is just so much money, and while I know they’re better , I can’t imagine they’re $30 bucks better.

Thank you for these videos ... I have had my original switch for a very very long time and I'd say I've played it at most a few hours because of how horrible it feels in my hand. I have large hands and the switch just feels impossible to use for any extended period of time. It's as if the design team just gave up on ergonomics completely. These videos are really helping me narrow down my search on which joycons to buy. I gave up on the switch so quickly that I didn't even think to look for new grips. So, in 2024, I'm buying new ergonomic joycons and for me it's as if the switch has just been released lol I think I may settle on the purple pro's but not sure. Still trying to figure out what the difference between the regular and pro is.
The main difference is the hall effect metal joysticks. Like he said in the video, they will never drift. I understand people are on a budget but for the extra money, it's stupid to not go with the pro model.

Woooah wait really? Steam doesn't recognize these so they don't work on windows properly? Thats the entire reason I wanted to buy this controller
@@jordandiaz5526 same, main reason was to use with my new laptop, the switch part was just a bonus.
They connect to my PC, I can see them in the Bluetooth list, but steam says no controllers connected. Looking at some posts, looks like they use to work, then steam did an update now no aftermarket joycons work.

Mainly the joysticks, this one has hall joysticks which make it nearly impossible to drift, the Athena doesn't have that.
Love this controller, but the back buttons are just abysmal. On my copy (green) the ML immediately broke and fell into the controller, and the MR has ZERO tactility. And yeah, the D-pad is doodoo, way too stiff. Everything else is great. NYXI has pretty good customer support though, they refunded me after I showed them the broken button.

I feel like the GC themed Hyperion pro's are a better look imo but thats my opinion I feel like you was a bit harsh on the green controllers they are the same controller at the end of the day and the only difference other than the connector piece in the middle is the color which is 100% a preference thing I bought the GC themed ones because I really like smash and I felt like its a cool call back and I didn't want the Wizards but I also really like BOTW TOTK and Zelda just in general and I feel like the green controllers they used is the same green as link's iconic default tunic and the gold dpad makes it a definite shout out to Zelda im gonna end up getting the green joycons as well

If your playing in a switch, these. If android qrd. These are extremely comfortable .
Man that is a nice color option the purple looks so good also I don’t know if you heard nyxi now has a recharge grip for the nyxi wizard which allow you to charge them connecting the usbc cable on the top the grip and connecting to your switch dock great new accessories. nyxi also has a some new stick option for the nyxi wizard which comes with sticks that make like the orginal GameCube controller like a c stick you should check them out and nyxi should come with a recharger grip for the nyxi Hyperion pro

The warranty is only 30 days from their website. Wouldn’t justify the purchase
The reason the dpad feels different is lousy quality control on these cheap controllers.
I've seen many people have connection issues with these too, probably cheap Bluetooth chips or too thin a connector rail.
Be ready to request replacement and have extra wait times
How does charging work? Does the little centerpiece have a USB c port?

I dont Like the purple one, the color looks cheap. I Like the subtle Look of the Green one, it appears more noble. I ordered the Green One and get it propably next Week per Express Delivery. The original Joycons are way too small for my Hands, so I looked for a good Alternative. I Like the Illumination of the Buttons 😁.

Sorry to hear that dude. I do try to be fair to everything we got hands on with and cover it in it’s on price point. But these things like feel are all subjective so it’s really hard to know what everyone will think hands on.
