To be fair, it has been his dream since a little boy to grow the Saudi league.
Nice grammar😂
Lol
"When I was a wee lad, I used to dream of growing the Saudi brand globally and helping to deliver shareholder value." - Jordan Henderson
Who says the romance of the beautiful game is dead?
Brilliant 😅
He could pick any country he wanted to help grow their league, it just happened to be the one with the most money, total coincidence.
It's not even just a case of "they were offering more than everywhere else". That's why players go to England over the likes of Italy and Germany. Henderson completely undid his pro-LGBT public persona for more money, when he was already on what, £175,000 a week?
didnt have many offers
Exactly. So that's the league that you'd choose, obviously.
@@Thai.Farang Not according to Henderson.
If you actually listened to his interview he clearly stated that this was the only offer that Liverpool received for him and Liverpool had no interest in keeping him, so no he couldn't just pick anywhere else to go. If only things were so simple.
Why don't the players just own it? Everyone knows you went for the money and then saying you didn't just makes you look worse.
because our culture doesn't reward people for telling the truth. If he said he just went for the money he'd be ripped apart
@@dannyfoster6848 I'm not so sure tbh, if he said the money was just too good to turn down I dont think many people would have ripped him for it
@@ConnorWoolfspot on everyone knows anyway 😂
Winston Bogarde is the only 1 the owned it and respect to him
@@dannyfoster6848 People need to stop pandering to the noisy minority. I think the majority of people would have respected him more if he'd been honest about it.
As a Liverpool fan, i'm completely bereft of sympathy for Henderson. He's clearly chased the money. He thinks Liverpool fans are idiots if he expects anyone to believe a word he said.
True but let’s not be hypocrites here, he’s not a Liverpool academy graduate is he? He wasn’t a Liverpool fan was he? Liverpool wasn’t his childhood club was it? So why is it a problem now?
Henderson doesn’t need, want or care for your sympathy. Listen to Jordan.
Jim has done a disservice here by not reading the whole interview to Simon. He said he went because it was good financially and Klopp told him they would be bringing in players in his position and would get less game time.@@trapmantv.nocopyrightmusic593
Alot of players in Liverpool or epl chase the money. So what. I ain't never heard someone that any club in epl bought in recent years say they wanna join a club in epl cause its been their dream 😂
Dnt be a hypocript
Simon annoys me at time but it’s instances like this where you can trust him to hit it out the park. Henderson’s interview was nothing but a boringly predictable PR exercise!!
100% with Simon on this
The way Simon Jordan breaks this down is just excellent, cuts right through the rubbish.
yeah hes right u can't support the gay movement and play in saudi or support saudi owned clubs. NUFC have zero gay fans anymore.
not always

He's Spot on👊👍
Nothing we didn't know.
3 miles away from where he plays 10 women were flogged on the weekend 🤔
Nothing wrong with a bit of S&M.
@@norwoodboy6048😂😂😂i want to see Hendo intervening in that .. he will get flogged himself and thrown out ..
you have to understand it's their culture, which Henderson doesn't want to insult. He'll whip them himself if you chuck him an extra £10
Slutz!
@@TheMightofDab 🤣🤣🤣
How insecure do you have to be to deny it? Is it really that bad to admit it?
"I went for the bag" is much more respectable than saying it wasn't for the money whilst not providing any reason otherwise...
Ruben Neveshhhhhhh all but said it. He called it for what it is as to why he made the move to a Saudi club.
It was mostly because their culture aligns closely with his own values given his stand on the issues in Qatar (hahaha).
Never respectable to admit you'd betray a social group (like LGBTQ eg) you heavily support for money, looks really bad on your public image.
@@gregclarke82💀💀
I'd have more respect for Henderson if he was just honest like Neves. Him constantly lying just makes it worse
What did Neves say?
@@glp2l”I’ve gone for the money!” 🤪
You have to say the right thing or else you'll be cancelled.
@@glp2lhe said he cares about looking after his family most of all, and came from that angle
Neves never trapped himself with rainbow laces and armbands and commercials about equality. Henderson cannot admit it was about the money without admitting he really doesnt give a flying f about LGBTQ rights and will sell his alliance to them for a price.
I'm a liverpool supporter and it saddens me how money has completely taken over in this wonderful game.. It governs almost every part of bringing success or failure to our favorite team It's very sad to see.. as far as the Henderson situation you have it spot on Mr. Jordan !!
So before the Saudis came you think the English wasn't doing it? Take accountability for once in your life and admit that you guys were doing this way before any other nation did it.
Let's also keep in mind that when the Prem was set up, it too was also about the money then. Now that there is bigger money from another country, can't be mad.
Most premiership top players are on enormous pay anyway. If your basic pay is £10 to £20 million per annum when tax has been paid that is more in one year than most top paid workers in other jobs would be paid in a lifetime. Do these top really really need more money. You can only live in one house, drive car, have so many holidays a year. Its all bizarre to me and the business is creating a problem for itself if footballers pay continues to advance as it has done in recent years unfettered.
Liverpool in the 80s bought the League.
@@2ru2pacFanobviously didn't watch Italian football in the 90s, or the Spanish in the early 2000's

Simon nails it with, if Liverpool were offering Henderson the same amount of money, would he have gone to Saudi to “grow the sport”? The answer is no.
If Hendo came out and said ‘hell yeah I went for the money, I’m in the tail end of my career and I need to earn as much as possible’ ‘I’m not going over there to throw gays off buildings, and I still support them but I’ve got to look after my family first’ we’d probably accept that. Don’t lie
Yup , perfectly summed up
I love the things Hendo did to earn his place at LFC, we saw him grind out a level that lifted LFC to the top, winning everything BUT he has tarnished his football legacy by taking the retirement money. He spent most of his successful time's at LFC preaching about equality, acceptance, inclusion etc only to then sign for a club that would lock him away if he dared risk upsetting them with those very same speeches and flag waving! I say hats off to Milner, stayed in the PL and still putting in work to retire a football legend and not another novelty retirement package in a glorified exhibition league. We saw China,USA try the same things to grow their own leagues but the fact is they'll always have to spend billions on older players and nobody will ever grow up dreaming of playing in those leagues, maybe when the Saudis buy the CL governing body to rewrite it to include them.. Feel sorry for the actual Saudi club fans who know even average players like Hendo wouldn't go there unless it was insane money..
Lifted what to the top
Absolute load of nonsense
Bold of you to assume James Milner is retiring any time soon. The kid is just warming up.
@@jeffrman777 I'm older than MIlner and I'm sure he was playing when I was a kid
Lol, Hendo was average at best, It was the players around him that lifted that team.
In an emotional interview, Henderson expressed his frustration at being labelled a sell out who only moved to KSA for the money. “It’s not true!”, he shouted, voice trembling. He was visibly upset and at one point peeled off a $100 bill from a fresh roll to wipe away a tear before tossing it on the floor, disgusted. “See? I don’t even care about money!” he squealed, arms flailing, Rolex watches on both wrists jangling to the sound of his own enthusiasm.
That last part of the paragraph is wild.
😅😅What would really happen if we knew the real feelings of these overpaid idiots
Jordan is the best talksport would be a joke without this man
He's a know it all who holds his "opinions" above everybody else's. He should tone it down a bit. Nobody likes a know it all
@dlamini77 a lot of people like him actually.
Agree with him or not, at least he seems to be a man of his convictions. A rare trait and something those who represent England, used to have in abundance.
@@dlamini77Dim people don’t like a know it all.
@@Alex-PWRLFTR they dont get paid to do it
Its funny how all celebrities have deep seeded beliefs untill money becomes involved...😂😂
Henderson has always been about Henderson. He was told his minutes would be reduced at lfc. He went woke for good PR and a place in the England squad.
This. It was all a PR stunt to make himself more marketable as an athlete. Let's be honest Henderson was never an entertaining player to watch and he was never a charismatic personality. Only way he could really enhance his brand is to become social justice warrior and be seen as an icon in that respect. There would have undoubtedly been many woke companies clamouring to offer sponsorship deals on the back of the kind of image he was crafting for himself.
He had a a place in the England squad long before he went "woke"
Hell, he still has a place now even after he took the Saudi money.
Ofc back then it was bc he was a good footballer. Now..... I guess England just doesnt have enough depth at CM
@@stevendchuonly there because of Southgate let's be real.
He loves the wokies but he loves his wallet more so hell they can throw the wokies off buildings in SA while he counts his dollar bills.
He should of played for Liverpool for £10 an hour if its not about money or even less
Exactly lmao.
Why you acting like money didn't bring him to Liverpool from Sunderland. If it wasn't about money he'd still be playing for Sunderland 😂
@@bhvillaman4401 That's a logical career move for a young, talented, in-demand player, to an elite English team
10 ffs 8 at best
@@danshaggy292Liverpool were far from an elite team when he joined
If ever you want a case study about how money can change people, Jordan Henderson is the perfect example of this phenomenon.
How did it change him? Seems he still has the same beliefs as always
You know it was money that brought him to Liverpool right?
he has been rich before this move..
God its good to have simon back
"Money wasn't the sole reason for moving"... but was probably the biggest reason 😂
The trouble for Henderson is that image he has of himself in his head and his actual nature are largely incongruent. He has to constantly lie and gaslight and cry about people pointing out his hypocrisy when all he wants is for everyone to give him a pat on the back and tell him how much of a hero he is. That £700k has apparently induced a personality disorder.
It's not £700k. That number came up due to a journalist making a mistake by thinking the "4x his Liverpool wage" comment meant before tax. IIRC he's earning 4x what he made at Liverpool after tax.
@@TheMightofDab Oh well that completely changes everything I said. He's not a lieing, borderline narcissist with the emotional maturity of a toddler and zero integrity because he's only quadrupled his net salary as opposed to his gross.
Well said.
@@noogate2672 It's a pain in the ass seeing people, especially journalists, tout the "700k a week" error. It allows Henderson to claim people are exaggerating the money he's making, which to be fair they are. In the interview itself he laughs at the 700k a week wage.
It's actually worse that he did it for less money. He didn't sell out on his apparently deep-held pro-LGBT beliefs for 700k, he actually did it for about 360k
Hes not on 700k! Hes never been on 700k! That is a lie the media has purported!
…hes on 695k 🤪
Only real one was Ogalo, who bluntly admitted it was for the money. For himself, and for all players moving to Saudi 💚
@@johnnyrocker7495if I'm not mistaken i think Koulibaly too
Liverpool fan here. Simon absolutely bang on. Enough said.
When Simon said “ I couldn’t give a pony about this “ I laughed so hard 😂
Surely if it’s not about the money then he moves to Spain or Italy to win an actual trophy for a proper club.
If he cares about "growing the league" he could have gone to play for the Scottish Premier League, or MLS, or Super Lig in Turkey which is currently growing, plenty of leagues without BILLIONS to spend could actually use help in growing the sport.
But none of those offer even close the wages
i have quickly gone from respecting henderson to truly viewing him with distain
Hypocrisy at its finest from Hendo just you wanted that oil money
“I often question the validity of people’s purported beliefs, when it comes at a cost to them.
When there is a cost implication to someone’s deep seated beliefs, then you’ll see the substance and the character of the person when ultimately they’re prepared to accept those costs.”
Simon always tells it as it is
this is clearly everything that is wrong with media, sport personalities, politcians... pure hypocrisy -- just saying what is the 'right' narrative or message of the moment.. doesnt jordan know that most people don't care that he has gone there for money, just dont lie about it...plus no way he or anyone else in that league should be playing internationally until it is competitive
Simon spot on once again
It was for the sparkling Riyad nightlife, restaurants, bars, clubs, theatre, concerts and festivals of course
It's better not to say anything than this.. Simon cracks up .. "As agent Henderson" 😂
Liverpool fan here. He's dead to me now. An embarrassment to our club.
😂😂😂
Harsh
Henderson should have said, he didn’t think he was going to get enough game time at Liverpool this season with young players coming in and he wanted to play.
He did say that. He said he tried really hard in training but felt he had no chance this time. Probably true, but that doesn’t mean saudi
You have to feel sorry for these footballers it’s a short career and they want to sit on there arses for the rest of there lives or play golf every day ,it’s time to shed a tear
Henderson’s dug himself an even deeper hole with that interview. 😅
As a Liverpool fan I have the utmost respect for what Jordan achieved at our club in his 12 year stay.
However, Jordan needs to own the reasons why he went there and why all players choose to go to Saudi at this point in there career's...............they make some dam good kebabs there.
What 2 major trophies of note in 12 yrs. He achieved the bare minimum and some would argue it was largely a failure.
@@languageoffootball You are clearly trolling but i will indulge your troll.
By your logic every footballer who wins nothing at all is an absolute failure of a footballer. Great logic there.
Koulibaly said it how it is. And I dont blame anyone moving for all that money, why not?
Anyone to tell me which player is not playing for money?
It's a shame that he didn't go to non league which needs growth and clubs are in crisis..
Now I knew he was playing in the Premier League for the love of England not his weekly salary ..
Pretty much every player who joined Liverpool in the last 20 years have done so primarily for financial reasons, so why not the other way round?
He should be honest about it tho....
It's been said thousands of times before and at times I haven't agreed but in this instance Simon is spot on!
Sir Simon = Top LAD Proper Clobber ✊💯 Facts
Sir Spectre and Sir Simon = Top LADS Proper Clobber
Simon is just brilliant
As a Liverpool fan well said Mr Jordan these players have all gone for the Money and Sod or Else ⚽⚽
So well said Simon
Im happy for Henderson and I want to thank him for what he have done for us in Liverpool
Hahahahahahahaha. !!!!!
Simon is spot on. At one point it was looking like I might be working in Saudi and I would have gone, for the money. But then I'm not making a song and dance about how I support the alphabet community.
You weren't motivated to "grow industry" in Saudi?
Can he talk Harry Maguire into going over. Tell him there are some good golf courses over there.
They could nail Saudi propaganda posters to his head and stand him on the sidelines. An asset to the league.
I wonder if Hendo does laps around the Kaaba? I love running...
Like footballers care about certain community 😂
Hendo it’s okay if it’s about the money no need to lie. You’ve already won everything
I would respect him more for saying it was largely the money and he was thinkning of not just his children but his grandchilren etc and how the money will help them.
Well said 👏
😂😂😂😂 Yeah right Hendo, yeah right. 😂😂😂😂. And besides, 1 footballer cannot change the beliefs of a whole country or religion over night, especially when it's been that way since day dot. Nah, it's purely a money thing, and fair play to him.
He should have rejected the offer on the grounds that the human rights in Saudi is intolerable and made that very very public . Anything short of that is hypocrisy. Henderson was my favourite player at Liverpool , i have no issue with him going for the money but i do have a big issue with all his vacuous virtue signalling which has been completely exposed. Its time footballers got on with foottball and stfu about politics and moral issues
And what about the human rights of Native Englishmen? Weird to be criticising other countries when our country is being torn to shreds

Every footballer plays for money. Remove the wages, they would quit overnight. Football is a job.
If someone chooses to put their winky in certain places thats on them, why do they want Henderson to co-sign it 🤷
Isn´t it strange how the world´s best footballers (and Jordan Henderson) never want to "grow the game" in places like Nigeria, Iran, Angola, Chad, Ghana, Latvia, Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador, Lithuania, Somalia, Bangladesh etc. I wonder what it is that makes them so motivated to grow the game in Saudi Arabia?
Spot on Simon I think Henderson just copied a Gary Neville statement
I never ever thought I would agree with Simon but on this occasion he’s spot on the macum went for the money let’s see if he wears his rainbow on his sleeve now W⚓️
The only challenge he was looking for out there was the challenge of spending all that money
Wonder if he left the rainbow flag at home?
He can bring it with him and the Saudis can just grey it out in all the pictures, no problem.
Well said Simon. No flies on you.
He needs to have the courage of his convictions and see things from his vantage point
Not only is he greedy and a hypocrite he’s also a liar. If he was honest we’d respect him for that even if we disagreed with him. Leaving Liverpool as capt when he was already on a fortune is says all we need to know about him. Can we stop giving him publicity from here on?
Would you go for 700k a week?? I would be on the plane the next day
@@SharafatAIi of course I would but why lie about it
Your calling him greedy for taking a financially incredible opportunity? He hangs up his boots soon and then what? His money lasts forever? It certainly doesn't. For £700k per week, he's looking after his future. There's an envious and salty tone to your describing him as 'greedy'. Because you'd obviously turn that down, lol. Then you'd be a greedy git as well. Anyone who chases financial rewards is 'greedy'. I would call him astute actually. Packing his bags and going to a foreign country with a different way of life, because they've financially made it very worth his while. Good on him.
7:45 Jim liked that Agent Henderson line.
Simon Brilliant once again Thank you
I don't think he has a question to answer, he was told by Klopp he would not have much game time and the Saudis said he would.
Why do we, as a nation, feel the sense of duty to force everybody to tolerate what we tolerate?
Genuinely I don't get it
"veneer deep, he does care" thats funny

It was not for money. It was for the amazing weather.
Simon spot on again. Love listening to this guy 🙌
He just should have said he went for monetary reasons.
What we’ve all been waiting for 😂
What makes me laugh is the ppl thinking he cared one bit about the lbgt community. He was told he had to.
Absolutely spot on.
Show me the money 😂😂
It is great for Liverpool he left, he was a very average midfielder covered up by better players around him.
Saudi have Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema. But Jordan Henderson needed to go there to grow their league!!
Hear hear Simon!
If he’d said, I’m going for the money.. to secure financial stability for my family. For my children, my grand children, great grandchildren.. and so on. He’d have left with Liverpool fan’s blessing and fan’s world wide respect. But no. Honesty is the policy.
Yeah he won't be saying it in Saudi
Yes us Liverpool fans won't forget. What a shame, sad way to end his career at Liverpool.
Screw him, he's essentially a Michael Owen
I think part of the truth is that Jordan would not have been a mainstream player anymore at 33 years old especially bearing in mind Jurgen Klopps preference for an energetic pressing style of play.
he was earning just under 200k at Liverpool and to earn 700k or there about, he went for the money just own it
One of the few times I've thoroughly enjoyed a Simon Jordan POV😂😂😂
Henderson claims someone with his beliefs being over there might change attitudes, but also says he has to respect the religious beliefs of the country.
So he's admitting he won't challenge their attitude toward the LGBT community, so why is it a benefit that he's over there?
You can do both I suppose, you have to be quite sneaky about it tho lol
I didn't realize he went to one of the clubs that are not the rich 4 ones which were bought by the gov't. That fact makes it way, way more believable that he isn't making significantly more than last year and that the move wasn't money based.
🤦🏻♂️
We need to remember that its there job and its natural to go where the money is,
Must be a slow news day.
Simon nails it here, people don't care about the money. It's the moral consistency that highlights how much integrity Henderson has, which is very little...
Words are wind
