Ok here is what google says
Once a player has been placed on a team's 40-man reserve list, a team has 3 option years on that player. A player is considered to have used one of those three option years when he spends at least 20 days in the minors in any of those 3 seasons.

Hey! We elected to keep this particular video focused on options as they relate to immediate decisions at the end of camp, rather than the entire system. But we would like to do a more developed/produced explainer in the future that covers the entire system.

I pretty much knew all the info in video. Why not explain how a player comes to be out of options? Seems like a player gets options for 4 years???? I can’t remember for sure.
Good video, I just felt that one little tidbit should have been included.

There is an exception but let’s say normally they only get three option years. also if they aren’t optioned for less than 20 days in the minors they actually keep their option
