  • The Mucar CDE900 obd2 code reader was sent to me for testing. So far, this scan tool seems to be the cheapest one I could find with this amount of features. It comes with basic OBD2 code reading and scanning features but it can also be upgraded to read and enter manufacturer-specific systems like ABS, TCM, SRS, and ECM. The Upgrade does cost a fee but is good for a lifetime. Even with the extra fee this scan tool seems to be the cheapest compared to others with these same features. to my surprise, the Mucar CDE900 code reader is android based and has a touch screen. In this video, I go through How to use pretty much every feature and setting there is. I share any issues I found and share my likes and dislikes about this budget scan tool. I hope you found this video helpful and Thanks for watching!

    I watched this video a few weeks ago and considered buying this tool. This evening, after a conversation with my son about the limitations of my cheapo scanner, we watched a portion of this video again and I think I will grab one off the Amazon. Do you care if we post comments and questions here once we have familiarized ourselves with the device? It seems you have a good sense of it's attributes and an understanding of how it works. I am a product of the analog world, so this stuff is over my head!

      thanks for watching. it's a pretty handy inexpensive scan tool yet has a lot of useful features. just had some of the bugs that I mentioned, hopefully they fix that in an update though. sure thing, make a new comment though, cause it doens't alert me when there in a reply to a comment

    Great review 👍 her in the uk in the Expand Section which I think only appears after purchasing the extended 4 in 1 package, you can then purchase some maintenance reset system functions for $15.95/£12.60 each which include: Windows Calibration, TPMS
    Reset, Transport Mode, Tyre Reset, Steering Angle Reset, Seat Calibration, Stop Start Reset, Sunroof, SUS Reset,
    ODO Meter, OIL Maintenance, NOX
    Sensor Reset, Language Change,
    IMMO, Injector, Gearbox Learn, Gear Learn, Electric Throttle, EGR Adaption,
    DPF Regen, Coolant Bleed, Battery Matching, Brake Reset, Adblue Reset, Airbag Reset, A/F Reset, ABS
    Bleeding, and finally at the moment as they might add some more in the future
    AFS Reset.
    know that sounds expensive but if you are a diy-er just wanting to sort your own vehicle as the issues arise and purchase one or two when needed it's not to bad.

      thanks! it seemed to have appear for me after the update, it's possible you have to buy that one first. it's pretty cool, I like how you get if for life it seems and don't have to pay a subscription. check out the new cde900 pro, ill be doing a review on that one as well. does much more and has bidirectional control capabilities and bigger screen. I like the upgrade pricing a bit better too

    Cool little unit. I have a ubs obd2 and the BMW round connector that I use with my laptop. I manage to get a clone of a BMW laptop they use at the dealerships. Then installed some more software for obd2 so I can connect to my Jeep and other cars. If I didn't have it this would be on my list. Could be a good one to put in my small box 🤔🥰

      thanks, very nice! the round connectors are the old school ones. haha I work at a bmw dealer so I usually can just read faults there on my bmw there. it's nice having a scan tool that does all makes and obd2. it's nice to be able to read fault codes

    Can you program keys? And for hybrid cars can you see the voltage of the different cells?

    • @4WheelKid
      @4WheelKid  Před rokem

      not with this one, you would need a much more expensive possibly dedicated scanner to program keys. That's a good question. I don't have a hybrid so I can't test that out but I would think so since you can enter the manufacturer specific side of the ecm. not sure how the batteries are handled on hybrids, maybe it's the ecm maybe it's a separate control module. could be different on different cars
